Need to get a wood pic (picaroon)it could save your back make handleling logs a lot easier. Injoy your new land I recently bought a patch of woods myself can't wait to get working on it. New protects 🪓🔨🪚💪
yes i just got myself a wood pick, and thats awesome! Hope you make your dreams happen too, definitly worth the work
Interesting video
Thanks!
I have a buddy that have been running tracks for years on his SxS and quad for hauling wood and logs........he uses gear oil instead of grease inside those caps and had never had a bearing fail yet.........I guess the gear oil will seep into the bearing when the grease wont in the cold and it displaces the water better I suppose...........I have a small set for my polaris this year and will be trying the gear oil also..............Great explore buddy...........great spot for sure........thanks for taking us along.......
@codraven57 thanks buddy, I decided to use grease since the bearings are sealed so hoping this will stop the moisture from seeping in. I'll see in the spring how it worked, worse case I'll have to change all the bearings and go with gear oil lol. I'm glad the bearings are cheap online and really easy to change. Really impressed with the capabilities of the tracks overall!
just sent a request to join your fb group
Awesome views of serpentine Lake makes me want to come home
@@ToddButt-ic8rg it's unreal how much beautiful scenery there is here in newfoundland!
Your videos are fantastic. The drone footage is so cool ... Love the choice of music too.... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@h2oboater thanks! Really hard to find decent non copyright music lol, and as for the drone I tried multiple "cheap" ones with no success. So I bought the dji mini 3 and I'm very pleased with it
Great video, our atv group from Nova Scotia were on this road this summer, traveled as far as the Sweet Shack , We were told by a local that there is plans to put a trail across one of the bogs that will link you up with the roads that come in from Gallants, Right now , you would know this , you can only get across in the winter on snow machines.
@KawiKvfRider yes that's pretty cool. There's so many trails around here it's crazy. I haven't even scratched the surface yet lol. Did you post your journey here on RUclips?

Lots of nice logs back there
@TDP1988 yes there is, too bad were only allowed taking the windfall wood. But there is lots of that around!
New subscriber. Really enjoyed. Looking forward to seeing the winter runs.
@Frontireadventures thanks for subscribing! And yes there will be more to come
I would much rather hear you talk about the area than listening to that music.
@SuperCyril2 yes i do plan on working on voice overs more as I get more used to doing the videos
Do you have to play the music
@jocelyncritch8512 the reason I added the music is because my cameras get terrible wind noise when driving and there's no sound with the drone footage, not a big fan of music myself but it will do for now
love the track set up! I also have a couple of trackers. I would like to try to set one of mine up. What kind of set up do you use for the tracks and mounting set up?
@mikemcauley6036 i bought a set of camso tracks, t4s. I had to buy wheel adapters on ebay which were 900 dollars. The torsion arms i modified myself with some welding. These were on a kawasaki tree and they weren't bad at all to make work
awesome ride into the hills man. great drone video.
@dronepilotNL thanks buddy, you ever been to Lewis hills?
@@offgridadventurers yes man, snowmobile mostly though. never been out in the cold brook area though. looks like nice country in around there. This spring, you needs to go to the Howley, Taylors Brook area. Some great country up there to do some off road adventures, like Howley via Hinds Brook Rd to Buchans, back over the Gatt Topsails then to Howley. then another is from Taylors brook Rd to Hawkes Bay on the GNP. Let me know. I spend my summers up that way camping.
@dronepilotNL sounds like we will have to meet up for some adventures, I really wanna check out the dam too!
@@offgridadventurers not a problem, just message me
@dronepilotNL i have you on Facebook?
Great video looked like fun thanks for sharing
@@tomfillmore9710 your welcome! Some beautiful country out there
Very interesting and you are correct, the scenery is spectacular and so 'clean' looking. I did NOT notice any trash along the roadway,.. well done travellers. Carry it in, carry it out. Thanks for this video, I did as you suggested, I subscribed as I would like to see more of your outings and also what you do.
@regsparkes6507 thanks! And yes the trails have very little traces of garbage which is nice to see. There is definitely some beautiful landscapes in this area, and thankful the drone can pick up alot of it
Thanks for the ride today! Looking forward to a snowy winter riding along in the Tracker with Tracks!
@richardguse3410 thanks! And I'm sure by the looks of things that will be happening sooner than later lol
@@offgridadventurers Do you have a hydraulic boost on the steering for the tracks?
@richardguse3410 nope it works perfect with the stock power steering.
That's interesting. Must be the light weight of the Trackers. I just watched Cascade Heavy Rescue in Oregon and he needs it for tracked Jeep Grand Cherokees.
@richardguse3410 yes the trackers are pretty light. Mine is only 700 pounds heavier than a can am defender lol
Awesome video buddy that's one sick looking woods rig going to be nice to get in the woods for a cook up when the snow comes
@fathersonoutdoors7487 oh buddy I can taste the bologna over the open fire now 😂
iIguess only balsam grows there?? kinda odd.. think white spruce would grow there as well..
@@jondoh5961 yes strnge hey
Great work. Ya helper is definitely a keeper. I have a tip. In an area where u have a few logs near the road like in ya vids. Find a tree close to the road. Use a ladder and tie a heavy pulley up in the tree high. Run a long heavy rope through the pulley to ya jeep to ya logs and pull to road with Jeep. I do this and works perfectly. U can cut ya logs in 16 ft lengths then til u haul em to the road. It works well for me.
@petropete3122 thanks! And that is a great idea for sure, I'll give it a try
Nice drone shots. Much respect to a man getting logs this way. Been at it the pass few weeks. Gotta have the want to accomplish that’s all. Tks for sharing.
@petropete3122 thanks buddy! I always said anyone can get anything they set to mind to...you just gotta want it bad enough!
Nice video. Keep em coming
@dooser52 thanks! I'm trying to keep on top of it lol
Jezz boy could you at least puts on some safety glasses!
@robert8668 i tried that but they fog up which is more dangerous...but I do have a face shield ordered!
Nice load logs. Beautiful spot where you were at. Good woods road and great drone footage.
@EwenRoberts-o8o thanks buddy! Can't beat nature it's good for a person
You nailed it my buddy all you got to do is get out and enjoy the great province we have in front of us as much as you can because you never know what tomorrow has in store. You're definitely in a good spot of logs logs there, watch the back coming from this old fellow who didn't once and pays for it now occasionally....and still don't at times and pays for it again lol. Great drone footage at the end there as usual my buddy. Hope you have an awesome week my buddy looking forward to the build and all your outdoor adventures.
Thanks Garry, and yes glad I don't sling logs for a living lol the old back wouldn't be able to handle it.
Great Video my buddy. Looks like your into a good spot of logs. . Your right, NOTHING beats the scenery and the fall of the year in Newfoundland. Get outside, your body and your mind will thank you. Thanks for sharing buddy
You got it buddy, and person feels so much better in this lifestyle
Everything you said about the benefits of being in the woods this time of year verses warmer summer like days.......I dont want to see the woods on a hot summer day........I cant get enough this time of year........from your drone shots I can see there is a pile of firewood left behind in that area......hope someone gets it and puts it to good use.........thats a fine load of logs and I would love to have them here......good job.
Thanks buddy and yes i wouldn't wanna do this in the summer heat. Fall is definitely my favorite time of year, too bad it wasn't longer
BIG LIKE for you from Mr. Garry!
Thanks buddy, life is what you make it...this is the path I chose and don't regret it one bit
Great day out my friend awesome video
Thanks buddy was definitely a great day, can't get enough of it
My guess is that there was still ice in the pond when the crash happened and the parts you show first ended up on the ice. As the ice was melting, it's possible that it broke loose from shore and floated across the pond and around the turn, carrying that debris to where it sits now. Also, the difference between rotary and radial aircraft engines is that with a rotary, both the engine and propeller rotate on a stationary shaft while with a radial. the shaft and propeller rotates within a stationary engine. Rotary engines presented all sorts of challenges with fuel delivery, etc. For example, there was no throttle since it would have nearly impossible to have any sort of throttle linkage connected to a rotating engine. Instead, they had three power levels with either 3, 6 or all 9 cylinders running at any given time. Rotaries were pretty much phased out by the end of WWI. Here's a video if one operating ruclips.net/video/mjpfIXyWEnw/видео.html. Btw, love the content, I live in Corner Brook and would love to get to some of these places some day.
thanks for the info! It is a good possibility that was how the plane may have crashed, it just looks so confusing as if there was 2 planes. if you come out this way next spring/summer look me up and we can go on a hike!
Congrats on getting that approval getting your cabin built will be awesome. My buddy and i built a little log cabin few years ago 16x 20 with a full loft for sleeping , worst thing I ever done now was sell it. Got shag all for it when we split it and now I miss it. Some nice logs there 74 is a great start, I like the plastic screen half face shield to protect the eyes and I always got glasses because I need those to see lol. Looking forward to watching your build my buddy have a great week.
@tuckerandi thanks Garry! Yes this is gonna be exciting but also alot of work. I think your on to something with the half shield, I'll look into that! Too bad you sold your cabin buddy, I can totally understand how that must feel
Great video buddy
@fathersonoutdoors7487 thanks!
Beautiful. I love the woods.
Thanks, and yes me too! It's so peaceful and therapeutic.
The cutovers look like the perfect place for moose, bear and lots of berries! Great video brother. The Drone adds a nice touch…. Going to unbox mine very soon. Chat again real soon. Loggers School Road is out by Gallants? Corner Brook?
Yes it's in the gallants area buddy. Multiple trails in back of there. We got about half of them covered in the area so far
@@offgridadventurers My brother lives in CB and he Moose Hunts in Loggers School Road.
I had a scanoe with 2.5HP Honda motor….use to trout fish in the pond next to the old Scout Park. You must know Jeff and Phylis Young. Good friends, however Phylis passed away recently.
Yes i know jeff and Phyllis, I've also lived in black duck back about 20 years ago, looking forward to moving back there when we build! There's some nice trout in that pond and the pond itself is pretty big
@@offgridadventurers Yes, it’s a BIG pond. Our son spend many weekends with friends from Black Duck Sidling. One, his name was A.J…..He lived with his grandmother.
@@gbltheolechurch5acrehomestead yes i know AJ as well! And his grandparents also
Mr. Garry here, coming along for The Off-road Adventure. I have been on those back roads a few times! Lived in the Xing for 12 years and hunted and fished around Black Duck Siding!
Nice! We will be building next to the scout camp in black duck siding next summer, really looking forward to it
Where not aloud to cut spruce for firewood in Nfld and only cut a small area for wood each season but the government can destroy what forest is around in Nfld and there,s nothing wrong with it. Lot good wood going to waste like smaller stuff what where only suppose to cut and been destroyed in the dirt and debris. Anyway great drone footage just the same. You done a awesome job with it. You had a great day. No animals on the go there. Figured it be a few grouse. Do you think Partridge Berries will grow there in couple years or so. If it was burned woods it would but that cleared cut I don,t imagine it will. Guess you will no if you live around the area and go back there in couple yrs. Anyway take care.
Mr. Garry did you teach school over there years ago ? I had a uncle that thought in Stephenville for years now he retired nice few years ago actually Nelson if you grew up in Stephenville you may know him too Jesse Fudge ? Also had another uncle that was a fireman at the Airport Bill Lilly
@@tuckerandi We lived in Stephenville Crossing. I was a principal at a school in St. Fintans and a school teacher in MacKays. Out West or in Bay St. George’s South. Mrs. Betty worked at a Photography shop in the Stephenville Mall and later at Coleman’s and a few other stores.
@@gbltheolechurch5acrehomestead so the short answer is no you didn't know him lol. Let's see if Nelson did.
They are making some great moose hunting areas with those cutovers.........I have the DJI 2 and did the same as you with the cheap ones with the same results......too funny...........
@codraven57 yes those cheap drones just don't cut it lol, they all claim to be great but not the case. I do like the new trails opening up but at the same time it's sad to see the clear cutting.
Great video buddy nice day out
@fathersonoutdoors7487 thanks, it was a beautiful Thanksgiving day for off roading!
Quick question, when you drop your tires down to 12 lbs is that hard on the tires ? I'm just curious lol. Great video again my buddy some scenery there. I have a DJI drone too but seldom use it i know i should, just by looking at your excellent dronage really adds to the video. Great video my buddy hope you have an awesome day
Only danger to your tire of low pressure is heat........if the pressure gets low enough and your speed gets high enough you will generate heat and that is what will kill your tire.......pressure + speed + load.......all plays into it......
@tuckerandi exactly what codraven said. And when were off roading we do 20km/h tops which don't generate enough heat to hurt anything. The difference in the comfort of the ride is unbelievable. Also better traction and saves on wear and tear on front end components. And yes Garry you should use your drone sometimes, the footage is awesome! I just do short video clips when flying so there's less editing. Have a great day buddy!
@codraven57 you know your stuff too buddy!
@@offgridadventurers makes sense , I was asking because I didn't know it's something that I wasn't familiar with and figured I'd ask someone who knew lol. I no doubt knew you would know and now I know too lol. Keep on off roadin my buddy looking forward to your next adventure
Now ask me the rate of and OC48 or how tie in an MX80 to and Fiber network and increase the bandwidth for increase internet speed what's causing high VSWR or RTWP readings on a cell system then I'm adding or reducing air like a balloon 🎈 on a hot day lol, now that makes sense the hotter the day the tighter the balloon, the faster you drive the hotter the tire gets the tighter the balloon 🎈 😜.
Looking down main street stephenville towards the mountain you can see the crash site
@KevinBourgeois-xj8pd i never noticed that but I'll take a look, thanks!
@@offgridadventurers with a good pair of binoculars you could see the markers up there also Maybe not so much now as it seems to be grown over judging by your recent video
