FYI.....Charlie used mainly downstrokes and did not use his 4th finger. Using alternate picking loses the swing.

I happen to own the same model, a 1958 Guild, and after watching your video, I've decided to remove the pickguard on mine as well. Your point about it interfering with fingerstyle playing resonates with my experience. Additionally, removing the pickup cover seems like a practical modification that I may try as well at some point. I believe that the tuners on my guitar are original. Currently, I see no need to replace them, as they function reliably and maintain tuning stability well. Just a few days ago, I switched to D’Addario Chromes (12-52) flatwounds, transitioning from the 12-52 roundwounds I previously used. I really enjoy the tone and smoothness of the flatwounds in this guitar.

Very informative and an overall good demonstration. Way too much talking and wordy explanations about things only you care about. Hate to sound ugly but I found it difficult to sit there and listen to it all. But otherwise everything else was a good demo. As good as Any on this site

Hi Dave, nice demo. I'm expecting my fryette PS-2A for next week. Just out of curiosity, is your amplifier's speaker cable long enough to connect directly to the Fryette PS-2A speaker output input or are you using a 1/4 Female/Female adapter as written in the manual? Or do you use a "male to female connector extension socket cable"? My combo amp's speaker cable is too short and I wanted something secure to connect to. thanks

Had a double pick-up version of this axe. Got it in a pawn shop for $57.50 with molded hard shell case. Guarantee card was still in the case and said "3 cents postage paid by Guild" It was stolen in a burglary.
