Man I've been using this as a joke for 30 years. See somebody with some fucked up teeth? Those teeth are counter column, march. That guy's arm after he attacked Dave Chappelle on stage the other night? His arm was counter column, march.
Book answer (TC 3-21.5) is that dismissed terminates the formation while fall out is used only for a specific individual or group of soldiers. Army answer as I've seen it is that fall out is used to terminate the formation and certain soldiers while dismissed is used for the end of the duty day.
Very helpful. Thank you so much. I am assuming when you call a "close arm interval" and "double arm interval" you call it while saying dress right dress. Like "at a double arm interval mark, dress right dress"?
In the army, You call "At Close Interval (At Double Interval), Dress Right, DRESS." You can also call "At Normal Interval, Dress Right, DRESS." if you are going back to normal interval from close or double.
Dress right dress is the command to get any type of interval. Now if you just want Normal or single Arm interval you just call “Dress right Dress”, however if you want double arms you will mention it( “ at double Arms interval, dress right…. dress), if you want Close arm interval you do the same just mention it in the preparatory command. If you wanna go from double to single you just say single arm interval dress right dress
Interesting. Slightly different from the one I've learned. The person on the far right(or left, if view from this video) wouldn't do anything. He/she act as an 'anchor'(I dunno the proper term for it). Everyone on his/her left will extend their right hand to make distance between rows., while those behind him/her will extend their right hand to make distance between lines. Also, we didn't have our palm flat while doing it. We have our hand form a fist with the thumb on the top(like when you point something with your thumb) instead. *Sorry for my English. Not my native language.
That’s two different things, Dress right dress is what they showed in the video, the one you are talking about the command for it is “Cover” it is to make sure you you have space between the columns.. when you call cover, the person behind the first soldier will raise their left arm to get the appropriate distance. And after you will say “Recover” and the squad will sharply go back ti the position if attention
@Anna Mangialomini Army is the oddball and uses the preparatory command "Rear" as opposed to "To the rear" that the other branches (Navy, Air Force/Space Force, Marines, and Coast Guard) use.
The platoon sergeant's position is to the left of the formation and your squad leaders are supposed to be in front, so rear march is not meant for extended periods of marching.
I'm in the reserves so my commands would be: DRESS, RIGHT, DRESS!!! No you arm, no your oth...stop moving...READY, FRONT! No line up, did you shave private Ortiz!? Huh 150 assigned huh 149 out of ranks :/
why should the first squad look out the corner of there eye and align to the man to the right if they already have there head eyes to the right? ...im having trouble understanding this damn video idk if it's just me but they are explaining it way to complicated in my opinion though
I think third squad makes 2 short column lefts, and second squad does 2 column rights around third squad, while first squad does 2 column rights around second squad
Controlled chaos !! Looks great
Thanks i need that for my exam
Ha, this was the one I rolled the dice for.
Your military right, Francis!

man these vids wack bro
Fall out? I thought it was dismissed? Which one is it? Has it changed?
I believe in "fall out" they have to stay in the immediate area. In "dismissed" they can leave/go home.
Book answer (TC 3-21.5) is that dismissed terminates the formation while fall out is used only for a specific individual or group of soldiers. Army answer as I've seen it is that fall out is used to terminate the formation and certain soldiers while dismissed is used for the end of the duty day.
It’s dismissed
pitching this module is the worst.
what foot do you call the command on, if the formation is already moving?
Right foot
For "Column Right, MARCH", you call the Preparatory Command and the Command of Execution when the right foot touches the ground.
love the Drill Sergeant pose with fingers locked below the waist. I remember that very well
There is a rest position no servicemember wants any part of: The Front Leaning Rest Position
i lived in the house with the blue roof
You must know my parents, they've owned the property for 25+ years

Wow. Finding myself on RUclips is pretty cool!

What is with the wavering low frequency drone in the background? It sounds like I'm in a airborne B-17 while wearing earplugs.. weird.
What the fuck is this stupid shit
Oh my God these are bad.
Shane Bretey how exactly are these bad?
@@cameronwilson2045 poor on the demonstration part, the 3rd column is either too slow to catch up or 4th squad is too fast.

Wouldn't "To the rear" be easier?
No such command. It's " REAR, March!"

In the military as soon as you finish your first training can you choose what type of person you will become?
You take a test and are given a list of options.
reading a teleprompter is very easy
We actually have to memorize it
Woah weird iPhone hack at 5:15. Siri auto activates everytime it passes this interval 😳
?

why would their head and eyes be to the right in column?
How does a platoon of 3 squads execute Counter-Column while marching?
I think third squad makes 2 short column lefts, and second squad does 2 column rights around third squad, while first squad does 2 column rights around second squad
