Constructive Conversations with Dr. Susan Maples
Thank you both. My recent oral microbiome test showed extremely large amounts of 4 bugs that cause gum disease both before and after taking an oral probiotic. I have a long history of periodontal disease, flap surgergeries and tooth loss over the last 40 years. Have been "stable" until the last year when I experienced mouth sores and very tender gum tissues and my hygienist noticed less firm and inflammed gum tissue. I have been on a whole food plant based diet [no oil] for the last 18 months. I look forward to trying Daily Dental Care!!!!
Great information. Looking forward to new opportunities as an RDH. Congratulations on all you are doing.
Thanks for all the info
Xylitol works very well in my morning smoothies.
MANY Thanks!!... :)
DEADLY TO DOGS & CATS. Keep it stored away from them, where they can't reach. Dont have it lying around
Reminder: keep it out of reach from pets, Xylitol is beneficial for humans, but DEADLY for CATS & DOGS !!!! Don't have it lying around
You most definitely convinced me that I need to start using xylitol for my toothcare regimen!
I use directly xylitol crystals after meals. You just need to let it dissolve in your mouth with your saliva and swiss it for 5 to 10 minutes. There is really no need to buy any gums and sweets. You spit it, rinse your mouth. And then brush your teeth about 30 minutes later. Then, you are good to go.
Xylitol can mess with your microbiome in your gut. I wouldn't chew the gum b/c even swallowing a little is enough to do so. Also has extra things in it like sorbitol "a potato starch and such". Instead get the crystals in the bag from walmart.... It is pure Xylitol. A lot cheaper than the gum as well. Use 1/5 teaspoon after each meal includes 2 brushings a day .. 1 t/s daily which is about 10 grams.. Just swish it around for 10-15 minutes then spit it out. No upset stomach and no 10 calories to burn and more importantly no worries for any heart issues.... If all the naysayers are correct about that. Always seems someone has to be negative I guess.
I tried it and it is wonderful. Teeth wither, bad breath gone, anti inflammatory, no dry mouth not even I the morning. It is a miraculous product
Hello ladies. You say to spit xylitol gum out after 5 mins. Is there harm in swallowing the liquid after swishing in mouth for 5 mins or as chewing just swallow it as chewing it? I guess what I'm asking is are you recommending to spit out the liquid or just the gum?
Chewing xylitol gum is like working out for the muscles of the mouth, ears, and all over the head which has a great positive impacts on the health of teeth, gum, ears, eyes, skin of the face, the hair.
Help what is a good brand to use
Promo'SM
Thanks 😀 awesome young ladies
I love this episode. Lisa is an amazing educator. I wish there were podcasts like this when I was a younger hygienist. Thank you for sharing this!
I just started using it; I mix a teaspoon of the crystals with a mouthful of water and swish it around my mouth for 15 min each morning, I also do a 15 min coconut swish each morning, before I clean my teeth.
Xylitol is a natural sugar, not man made sugar. Praise the Lord for his healthy creation 🙌
Been using Dr. Ellie's Philips Zellies gum for 2 1/2 months and my gums are no longer inflamed. I can tell that my pockets are starting to go away and I have no tenderness anymore. I also don't have bad breath in the morning. I use Zellie's cinnamon flavor (delicious) and the mint ones when I run out.Dr. Ellie Philips is truly a godsend.
She is
I have only just heard of this. I live in England and Xylitol has never ever been mentioned by a dentist to me in all my years, or to my family. I am now in the process of ordering this dental/nasal miracle worker. Thank you so much
There is barely good Drs in the UK. All are robotic.
Where can you obtain chewable nitrate reducing probiotics?
My Xylitol Rinse 64oz water 4tsp baking soda 8 tbl xylitol 20 drops mint oil Rinse for 1 min, 5x/day Keep by the commode and rinse as you go. Spit in commode. Gives me loose bowels if I swallow it in quantity.
I don’t remember the name of the brand of echinacea I started with years ago but now I use St. Francis Herb Farm tinctures. It is a Canadian company. Through the years I have done research and I find it’s best to use a tincture that has both the angustifolia and the purpurea strains of echinacea. My family use it at the first sign of any illness.
PleasepleSe give me the name of the Canadian company for that type of equinacea.
@@lisbethbessil-watson6464 St. Francis herb company. They have several different combinations of herbs. I buy the tinctures that have both the purea and the angostuforia strains of Echinacea. I hope I’m spelling those right. Hope that helps.
At 16:48 Fluoride is a neurotoxin and should never enter your body for any reason. Fluoridation affects the body negatively…. If your city has sipped the Kool- Aid and bought into the hoax, then get your water from another source!
Well, how does xylitol affect the enzymes / bacteria in your nasal passages, that contribute to the production of Nitrous Oxide?
I read somewhere xylitol blocks remineralization, is this true? Does xylitol also remineralize or just stop the bacteria?
Started chewing 2 PUR after meals/snacks around 4 months ago. Just noticed last week how clean my tongue is, and I dont scrape. Good sign Started putting xylitol crystals in my morning coffee recently and now find out it helps to absorb calcium. Love a latte. Who knew?!
Hi
I have nerve pain in mij hole face and my experience is that fluoride is a trigger for the nerves, and therefore can’t be good.
I am a dentist and gave Spry gum that has Xylitol in it to my son growing up which I believe helped him have very little tooth decay. I recommended using it. I have also heard the Xylitol gum by Pur is good too.
Where do you buy the disclosing so!ution?
It would be great if there were links to buy these probiotics .
I have heard that xylitol can cause stomach upset if you use too much.
Fluoride in municipal water is a waste product from making phosphate fertilizer, you'd think health professionals would know that. Very much xylitol causes digestive issues, I use a few grains and swish with water or in coconut oil. Teeth are so smooth! Little crunchies are the plaque build up is coming off.
Wow dr. Cannon just described my gingivitis that I’ve been dealing with that could not be diagnose or properly treated me . Thank you !!! ❤
How do you charge out the person who needs additional time with cleaning.
I just started with the chewing gum and it seems like my teeth don't get that film on them like they used to toward the end of the day.
Thanks for the very informative video. Can you confirm that Xylitol doesn't interfere with the production of nitric oxide in the mouth? Nitric oxide has been proven to reduce hypertension and to encourage the production of this gas I have cut out fluoride, mouthwashes and antacids which interfere with the process. Dr Nathan Bryan is an expert on NO and there are a number of interviews with him on RUclips. Hope you can advise.
I chew a xylitol gum every 15. I been spiting out my saliva because it vecomes very very thick saliva. What should ido? Should k swallow rhe xyliton saliva? Am i doing it wrong? I gew 4 gums per hour thats....about 50 pieces a day. Should i swallow the saliva?
Sugar alcohols such as Xylitol are indigestible- create terrible gas, bloating, diarrhea.
Im going mix with oil & rub it on my gums
Just brush youd teeth with it, mix it up in your waterpic, put a teas in your mouth of it & switch it around after every meal
Video cut off - did he finish out which xylitol source/s he recommends?
EXCELLENT information thanks x
Can Xylitol "pulling" be effective if one is so inclined to use this modality? Taking a teaspoon of Xylitol crystals, letting them dissolve in one's mouth and swishing them around for a prescribed amount of time. Would it be as effective as chewing a Xylitol gum?
Isn't it interesting that in Europe, they have used xylitol for decades? Yet in the US, not a peep. My hygienist never mentioned xylitol until AFTER I informed her that I started using it after meals. THEN she became very knowledgeable about its benefits and how it prevents caries. What a joke of a dentist and hygienist... I am disgusted that they don't tell people about it because they would lose CASH$$$$$ and patients... How wonderful would it be that children never got a cavity their entire childhood? How financially freeing would less dental work be?
they rely on cavities and dental problems, its their bread and butter! Follow the money!!
Thank you for you imfo about XYLITOL is this Xylitol can be safe taken by diabetic people ? Thanks in advance for your help
Yes! It's great for diabetes as it does not increase the glycemic index!
Great info, thanks
I've used xylitol for 15 or 20 years and it's fabulous! But, a couple of cautions. First, start with a lower dose and work up to the 5 or 6 grams per day over a month. The reason is that too much can upset your stomach and cause diarrhea. It's not harmful in any way... just start slow. The other caution is to be sure that the xylitol that you are using is 100% sourced from the US and made from birch trees. The xylitol sourced from China has been reported to sometimes be contaminated. Finally, instead of gum, I put it in my coffee, which I sip all morning. Then, I switch to iced tea in the afternoon with xylitol. Then, after brushing in the evening, I enjoy a xylitol mint before bed. Last thing... I used to have pockets in my gums that were 4 or 5 deep. They are completely gone. I use CloSYS before brushing to adjust the pH in my mouth, then brush, then Listerine Cool Mint. And, as mentioned, sip on xylitol most of the day.
Do you find it helps with anti aging ? I have read that it helps calcium get into bones and can prevent osteoporosis. Also check if Listerine has alcohol as alcohol is a proven canceriogenic
How much Closys do you use?
I find the mints quite expensive.... I just use the granular form...... I let 1/2 teaspoon dissolve in my mouth.... let it sit for a minute then spit it out...I assume this is ok to do it this way? ?
@@johnnylawrence7232 I keep it 10 to 20 minutes in my mouth before spitting it.
will have to try
