Seems to me like Alcorn was having issues most of the day from the start of the game, to half-time, on to the end of the game. I had pressed play acidentllay, then walked away. I Thought I clicked the wrong video for a second. For some reason I thought Alcorn's uniforms were someone else for a second. I don't know why Alcorn BD is turning around. That was not a good response to Peaches & Cream. The Golden GIrl stand thing was not enough to save Alcorn in the next round. If that's how the cut-offs are supposed to sound before the break down, I question it. This is a band 5th not a dancer 5th. Judge them separately. That's lack judging half-time based on one band having some gimmicks. I keep saying this every week, and maybe it's just me, but It seems like the last couple of years of battling JSU and SU has played a role with how some of these other bands perform in the 5th. The Boom has always had good student arrangers. I disagree that this 5th is better than last week. If it is, it's only better by a little. Alcorn executed better than Bama State, but they definitely had half the energy. Alcorn was kind mid to me. THey really weren't the 3rd best opponent to the BOOM to me. I think I like AAMU a little more

I think he counted off the tempos cause they wanted to play the cadences at ones. This was in the judges packet from what I was told. DOA kinda played the at the same tempo which isn’t a bad thing but imo it’s less diverse. I still mess with them heavy tho

Bama State fans really thought they were killing over there, so they probably did think they got the first round. They had way more energy in the 5th than during the game, which is funny because on one of the live prediction shows someone said "don't cheer for the honeybees more than the team." I really don't know how to judge Bama State. There were moments I felt like they were the best band the band saw other than TxSU, then as the song went on, I was kind of shaking my head a little. At times their trumpets seemed like they couldn't hold it down. They had good arrangements but sometimes not the best execution. Going with a gospel so early in the battle seem kind of like a cheap attempt at crowd response to me. Their team lost. I guess they needed something to be excited about. There was something they played I remember liking live, but now that I listen to the clips, I don't rmember what is was. At times I felt like all the negative energy from the game bled over into the bands, and they were trying to overdo in some rounds. I think Bama State is better than they have been. I don't want people to take this the wrong way, but sometimes it seems like bands have almost changed up the game a little to compete with JSU and SU. I agree with the round he gave ASU to make it 5-2. I didn't like how that arrangement was played this time
