Born and raised in Limerick. We really do deserve our reputation. Where else would hundreds of gravestones be destroyed for the sheer hell of it? Still happens, btw.

I remember the whistling bridge when it was built it would wake everyone up at night when there was a good breeze.

Also the impound system that was in use at the time was a total joke and only removed the horses from the streets temporarily (for a few hours) and before you know it they were back again on the very same streets they were impounded from.

That was not just specific to 1975 it was still a big problem when I was a garda in Limerick in the 80's but everyone was too afraid to tackle the problem for fear of offending the itinerants and their nomadic lifestyle and ethnicity eights while the poor horses suffered and were neglected and horribly abused by itinerant youths galloping them until the poor things were sweating profusely and ready to drop.

Spent most of the 80's as a Garda in Limerick - loved it there. Was working on the Roxboro garda motorbike when that poor girl was killed. This brough back memories of those days.
