Great to hear that California is regulating this class of chemicals. Certainly Dr. Mathrani's voice, competency, and statements here are reassuring. But the viewer is left wondering just what it means that California DTSC is regulating PFOAs. If they are so bad for human health and the environment, one would think that this regulating should mean that they are banned in California. Is that so? If not then why not? C'mon, guys, give us some more, and help us to truly be able to boast here about our CalEPA/DTSC!

Thank you for the informative video. I do hope DTSC will restrict PFAS use in consumer products. In the meantime consumers can become informed and stay clear of products with these chemicals.

Great! Thanks for informing the public about PFASs and that DTSC is studying them. Except that, from the public standpoint, we don't want someone to just study them; We want government to outlaw them/prohibit them; We want government to enforce prohibitions; We want government to clean up/remediate for a safer environment. This DTSC spot doesn't help the public to feel better about government working adequately. The public wants to hear and have a basis to believe that DTSC is boldly addressing this problem. Yet the video only really showcases that DTSC is studying the problem.

So, if I read the Private Property Release page that was available, IF the DTSC finds that any structure on my property has lead paint on it I *could* be compelled to strip the paint and dispose of the lead paint, independent of the Exide contamination, as a hazardous substance generator? Is that correct? If not, why all the remediation if the grounds can be recontaminated by lead paint particles? Thank you for any answers.

i have worked with tri-chrome for 15 yrs,has a very low tolerance to metallic contamination,anything above 10ppm copper,zinc,or nickel and the finish deteriorates rapidly. many additives needed to maintain bath to optimum values. yer its greener,but gimme the old hex-chrome any day. hey wot do i know? i only been doing it 40yrs this year

@ 2:08 - Rita says that emergency regulations will allow recyclers to send CRTs to landfills and still get paid by through the State Recycling program. First, it seems unfair that taxpayers dollars will go to companies that are dumping e-waste into landfills. Second, I don't believe that CalRecycle (the agency that manages the State e-waste recycling program) has indicated that landfilled CRTs will be eligible for payment.
