The template isn’t meant to be “cut out”. You bolt the template up, then cut thru from the other side using the center hole in the template as your guide. That way, the template can be used on both holes. Brothers has a nice video out on the process….You also only need a 4-1/8 hole saw size.

Hi Eric, yes I believe you can. There are two bolts at the back of each fender, an upper and lower towards the body, that you will need to remove. Bag and tag the shims. Also remove the front bumper and the bottom bolts of the core support for radiator. These bolts go through the core support into the chassis. I’m pretty sure that’s it. The RideTech ball joints are called Tall Upper Balljoints for the StreetGRIP suspension. They are taller to keep the camber gain. I enjoy watching your 55 Chevy rebuild on RUclips. I had a 56 convertible and 3 55's over the years. I put a 396 cu inch in in one of the 55's. I'm 80 years old now and can't get around very well, and watching you work makes it seem like I'm back in the day working on my Chevy. It seems like you work the way I did, on weekends, figuring out problems, and working in a cramped space. I never had the money for all the add on's you have (drop spindles, disk brakes, composite springs etc) but my Chevy's looked good and ran good. Watching you work makes me want to get another 55 and build it the way you're doing now that I can afford it, but my worn out body doesn't agree. Keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching.

Nice freakin job Sean. It looks brand new. I've been looking about 10 years for a 1985 GT Pro Performer. My dad bought me one new. It was teal with white seat, bars, and mags. I traded it for a Yamaha enduro to ride to school. I miss my GT and the prices of 80's BMX (freestyle) bikes and parts are insane. I can buy another Tri 5 4 door project car for the price of a Pro Performer. Do you ever go to the old school BMX shows and swap meets? We don't have any around here. I have no motor and trans in the car, it's just a bare frame so I can't use the weight of the car to help. I had a similar idea for a home made tool but I like your tool better so I am going to go and build one. Crossing fingers I don't take my head off. Thank you for your video. I watched a guy in another video that took the spindle off the car and then unbolted the lower A arm from the car the removed the spring by lowering the lower A arm with the spring instead of allowing the lower A arm to swing. @@seanderrick3831 not sure. I had a friend running a large journal 327 in a Corvette bored 4.040 with 10 to1 compression ratio that had same issues i had with the large journal 327. The small journal has a good block and comes with a forged crank. (all small journals SBC's had forged cranks, 283, 327, ect). You can use a 350 block to be safe. The only difference in the 350 is the crank, and piston pin location (with use of 5.7 rods). machine work is expensive to take a chance on the "327 large journal block", and a 350 block is cheap compared to pulling engine again and doing it all over again. smart thing to do is find a 350 block, use the 327 crank, rods you got, and order some forged 327 pistons, and you got a good 327. I hate to see you spend alot of money on machine work and time and you start getting low compression readings in the very near future. It won't be a good feeling to pull it back out. I know that feeling because i went through several 327 large journal blocks until i found out what the issue was with the cylinder walls after short run times.

Great Video. I’m restoring My Grandfather’s 72 C10 and didn’t know how to do this. I did notice rust in the same areas but My Truck is from California too so not as bad as I’ve seen other trucks

Man Sean, that one cylinder looks pretty bad. I hope it will bore. What a wonderful engine. My dad and uncles always talked highly on 327's. Those double humps will be 64cc. You have been gone for a bit. I thought you'd made so much money on youtube that you retired. Lol.

lol 😂 I wish!! Yeah I hope we can save it too. I’ll be taking it in to the machine shop next week. I’ve been working on Rusty putting his grill and front end back together. Man I forgot how many pieces there are on the front end. But I’m almost done. I’ll be posting that video next week. Thanks for your videos. Man your 55 Hardtop is tough!! All the details make it one of my all-time favorites.

Brent i’m sorry it’s taken a while to get back to your comment. I haven’t been out to the garage for a while. Things have been pretty crazy around here. Thank you for noticing that. I went out last weekend and look at the a arms and the passenger side a arm is a bit wonky. I think it happened when they pressed in the bushings. I’ll have to straighten it out The bushings are seated in all the way I think with the way the camera makes it look because of the shoulders, the a arms and bushings are both black, it looks like they’re not pressed in all the way. Thanks for taking the time to really look at my videos and help. Hope your projects are coming along as well 👍🏻

Coming along very nicely Sean! I'm looking at a still frame at 26.11 minutes. It might be the camera angle is distorting the look of the upper A-arm bushings and they appear not fully seated or A-frames aren't true??? If they are wonky they might wear out a lot sooner than we want.

Thanks for showing this as some people just getting into Tri-5's may not know this, BUT.... Which one is better? ( I hear people ask.) Also, something that you could address is the size difference in the rear package tray size just between the Back of the trunk and the rear window. The Couple/Two door hardtop BelAirs have a wider section than the Sedans. Great stuff Sean. I enjoy your build. keep the videos coming. I'm also restoring a '57 2dr Post 150 we named Marvin the Martian. (Marvin for short). Have a great day.

Looking good man. I just finish a 1958 truck complete frame off, I'm currently re-doing my 1955 Chevy 210. I installed a corvette IFS and a 4 link. I'm currently waiting on my frame bracing kit to arrive so I can install that. Once again looking good man.
