Anthony Ervin Freestyle technic - Olympic Games 2016 Rio
this was full on triggering me lol i wanted to se breakout mechanics and it cut them out so im sat here twitching lol
his hand is all over the place and it is super inefficient, I don't think this is how he swims in an actual race.
He said in an interview he is trying to be as relaxed as possible so maybe thats why. Just look at a cheetah running it is also very relaxed. Atleast thats what he said in an interview
Ugly technique , Thorpe was much better
Thorpe is not sprinter, he is distance swimmer, sometimes he swam 100 free. Dressel would destroy win in every race except maybe 200 free.
I need to incorporate a bit of knee bend into my freestyle kick I think that’s why I’m so slow with a board
How does he even manage to hold his breath for whole 50m
Gay guy -- outlook... Since ancient times - no man wears - womens cloth.
Jesus loves you guys!
What about the breathing technique?.
I didn't see him breathe once?
In 50m freestyle swimmers dont breathe.
His start gives him advantage
It's beautiful.
its called "technique"
Even slow motion can't slow him down 😉
Milák jobb...
This is phelps
wrong thats caeleb dressel
40 second 50? That doesn’t seem right
Who’s gonna tell him?
Me…. It’s the same race twice, but from different angels It takes him about 20 sec to do the 50
@@charleythora4037 oh fuck… i see now
@@charleythora4037 21*
Pure artwork 🙏
Let’s see if he can do 100m long muster and not black out
Good👍👍👍👍
You can take me out from this country now.... 😁👍
Technique wise nothing special. But somehow he is fast
The guy next to him took many breaths lol
the fact that the person next to him took those breaths but still manage to stick with dressel is impressive
@@jovantap2144 some prefer to take more air, even tho it creates resistance with the water, some feel stronger when entering air in their lungs
Awesome
His stroke rate is phenomenal. Also, he holds his breath the whole way. Some take one breath over 50, and some slowly expel air underwater.
This is a great advantage! Air keeps you above water! But to do it requires a healthy mind and heart!
@@radmilastamatova3673 it also requires healthy mind and heart...? Please elaborate
@@TheMehulkhanna I mean, it's pretty self explanitory, but to do what Dressel does, you need a mentality of steel at the time of the race, and you need a strong/fit body to perform.
HOLDING his breath along such a 50 meter effort is something which seems alien to me; I wonder how can anyone even do it during a race !!!
Nice just advanced my technique from average to better than average🙂which means I will swim faster, every bit of knowledge is the key👍
Doesn't show his breathing timing???.
Not seeing breathing timing could be because hes doing a 50m sprint and pretty much all Olympic level 50m freestylers hold their breath to maintain optimum streamlining.
@@alexcave7573 Oh, ok, thanks for that

why does he look forward so much?
That's what I thought too. :-D
Same.
There must be a reason for that. Your body is a bit more inclined when looking forward, and maybe that’s a strategy to do stronger strokes when sprinting. For long distances it’s important to glide well so you shouldn’t rly look forward, but when sprinting it’s a different strategy
Freestyle begins after 12 slo-motion shots of his entry. 1/2 way thru the video. I like the fact, you can see he doesn't glide after his recovery is complete. So many new swimmers have been taught to have both hands side by side in frt, gliding, before the pull or "catch" . Swimmers like Sun Yang, or Katie Ledecky, (and others) don't do it either. I still don't understand the reasoning for the technique, and haven't had anyone explain it.
You see that more in distance swims
Before you can catch arm full of water you need to glide. How would a beginner swimmer knows if he or she can sets up the catch if you are spinning your wheels? Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Go watch the best swimmers in their warm up. You will see a glide. Theres a difference between sprint and distance swimming.
My trainer told me it's to learn to depend on your leg stroke more so than your arm catch. It does make a lot of sense to someone like me that doesn't utilize leg strokes much at all in long-distance sessions.
Sun Yang literally uses the technique you described! It's important for a swimmer to learn distance per stroke (catch up free) before shortening down to a shoulder driven stroke.
@@dropdeadsprinterevan Not in any of the videos I've seen in the past.
0:45 it is interesting how he drops his right elbow and bends his right wrist and still goes with such high speed!
I think it's sprinting here. it would not be a good technique for efficient long-distance swims. (still better than mine of course ,)
The right wrist drop after catching phase is interesting to watch and a bit unusual for a World /Olympic champion but he's still insanely fast.....
very interesting your comments before guys, actually I'm as surprised as you, I expected to see a cleaner technique but apparently that's enough to be Olympic champion, I have the impression that he does the opposite of what we are trying to do haha
@@maxhim64 he just slams through the water with incredible power lol
@@Beyondthebreakers yes it is sure that with slow motion it is difficult to realize this
La subacquea sia a livello phelps, il che è tutto dire straordinaria, la tecinica non è un granchè, è uno sprinter....
his dive is above phelps level bro
he"s the best freestyler in the world
muita força pouco deslize, vai ficar bom
Those underwaters are just crazy
I have stopped to look at 40th second after many repetition of the same movements :(
👍👍👍👍
Mecanismo perfecto
Bom...
no high elbow??
No, Not how you sprint anymore,
