Man I did everything you mentioned and when I was finished the damn truck never gave me a choice to "reset brake pad life". I can't even select it from the info center like everyone else here. I did EVERYTHING to try and reset it but nothing works. It looks like it has to be done by the dealership, which is incredibly frustrating.

Thanks for the details that all the other videos skip over. That sensor was a bugger to unplug but seemed to work. I did unplug battery because i only did front pads. It detected the new pads but i still get service brake pad monitor sensor at start-up. I hit the ok button when it asks if they are new pads so im not sure why im still getting that service message. Truck runs fine. No limp mode or anything else. I did pump up brakes before reconnecting battery. And at first startup my emergency brake was on the screen. It disengaged as soon as i put it in gear and touched the gas. Other than that message all is fine. I guess i need to check the rear brakes now. They look fine but i guess its possible that one has a sensor that shows low pads. Does this make sense? Anyways thanks for the good video

I changed my rear brake pads, rotors and the sensor wire and my dash was lit up like a Christmas tree afterwards! I had ABS, check engine light, brake system failure, speed limit 43 mph, trailer braking system malfunction etc. The only thing that worked was disconnecting the battery for a couple hours reconnecting it and then when I went for about a 20-mile drive, the next time I started the vehicle the brakes were functioning again. I had to get the codes removed with a code reader as well and then everything was perfect. However I cannot reset the brake pad liif because it is still grayed out like you mentioned in this video. Do you have any idea why it is still grayed out after I changed the pads and sensor?
