"Oreocamelus" actually refers to a genus of extinct camels that lived in North America during the Miocene to Pliocene epochs. The Bactrian Camel, as well as other modern camels, belong to the genus Camelus, not Oreocamelus.The relationships among these genera and species are complex and include numerous extinct relatives and there is an ongoing debate about their exact classification. But like I said I 'm not an expert so I had to look it up, maybe I'm wrong, in that case I'm sorry....but a fact is that they are truely amizing animals . :)

The idea that Oreocamelus is an extant genus containing the Bactrian camel is incorrect, as Oreocamelus is an extinct genus.
