It IS Sid Garry!! It sounds like Lou Gold's Orchestra, with Tommy Dorsey on trombone...
Another vocal by Sid Garry!
Hilarious 😂
Thanks for putting classical country/oldtimey music on youtube.

Most young people won’t realize that is a 78!
Nice!
Love these records.
What exactly is acetate record? Is it a lathe cut or resin cast? Noise floor is noticeably low unlike shellac 78
Direct cut into a coated metal or aluminum disc.
Nice early electric Austrian orch. on a German Columbia.
Not only do I not own this record, I am not familiar with this Straus tune.
Nice. Not in my collection.
Magnificent recording sir. Thank you for posting.
I enjoy my Kreisler 78's. My favorite is his Caprice Vienois.
👍👌♥️
The other solos are probably by Skeets Herfurt on Alto Sax and Buddy Cole on Piano.

Really good trombone playing.
There's so much truth in his music.
Probably 1924, or after if there is a oval with the letters VE stamped inside the eccentric run-off groove, then it was recorded in 1925 or after

I would like to know what sort of acoustic system columbia had for these records. They so good.
There was no digital. Straight analog, no processing, nothing artificial, no gimmicks. That's why it sounds good.
A Ben Selvin studio band. Recorded on June 24, 1926.

Aside from Django Reinhardt (briefly, in Paris during World War II), Alvino Rey was the only guitarist who led a big band during the swing era. Here he's playing the pedal steel guitar. Fun fact: Win and Will Butler of Arcade Fire are Alvino Rey's grandchildren.
Thank you for the informative comment!!
Recorded on September 5, 1929. Orchestra under the direction of Leonard W. Joy.
I have a number of these little wonder records - lovely number - also recorded by John McCormick
I like the Little Wonder records as a novelty item to have. Fun little records.
