Everything is so green and tranquil today, it was a busy hub before the flooding of the valley which was sold to Manchester for only 170k, which is cheaper than a 3 bed semi today. There is a superb book called Mardale Mysteries that has many of the originl pictures of the houses, pub and church and local stories of the day in the life of the valley. Thanks for sharing your flight.
