    I can tell you didn't start this to save money. The setup would take a few years to recoup.. But once it has, if everything keeps working properly, it should easily pay itself off in the enjoyment and hobby and the fresh food.

    Could you do a video demonstrating lighting/types and use purpose and distance from plants and why, for the different plants you grow, dummy it down on spectrum. Go in depth a little on the different long day and short day plants that can grow together under one light/room and which may need their own room. Link please if I have missed this. Also do you grow cucumbers maybe I've missed that one as well. I am new as well to inside growing and have soaked up so much knowledge viewing your videos in the past 2 months. Keep them rolling! I am waiting on equipment to arrive now to copycat some of your methods and Kratky jars. I have an old remolded metal MH to grow in. Extremely excited to get started. Knowing my situation if you have any tips, I will gladly except, call me sponge....lol :D Taaka SC

    Doesn't algae wreak havoc on the hydro system?

    • @DitchTheFlock
      @DitchTheFlock 2 месяца назад

      It doesn’t occur in the black buckets with air pumps only the krakty white bucket. Algae can be food for plants but will also consume the oxygen and kill the plant. The pineapple is growing and doing great regardless. The only other place algae occurs is in the seedlings witch it dies when I transfer it to its bucket. It’s not present in any of my systems just that whit bucket

    • @DitchTheFlock
      @DitchTheFlock 2 месяца назад

      Hydroguard can help with algae a little bit but it can be a pain to get rid of and can choke plants out. Pineapples are insanely tough plants to kill some are gonna have harder time with the algae than others. Algae doesn’t like darkness or movement, so the air bubbles and black buckets help stop light getting in and moves the water around. Best of luck algae can be a tough have a great day :D

    I mean 20 bucks a month extra is definitely significant. My entire utilities bìll in my small flat is 110. So it's noticable. But the amount of food you get from it makes up for it. It's not a "is it too expensive" question. It's not an accusation to "defend" against. Its just a very relevant question about the mechanics of growing hydroponic food.

    • @DitchTheFlock
      @DitchTheFlock 3 месяца назад

      My total monthly expenses are like $8,000 a month on average, so $20 to me is not noticeable, I’m married it’s not just me and its a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom 2 story house. We have been living in the city for years. I didn’t realize people would think $20 is alot until I posted this. I answered the common question for people who wanna get into it or hate on it idc either way. I am also in a dessert climate matters and so does electricity cost, witch varys everywhere you go and we have some of the lowest at 14 cents a KW. I don’t grow to save money it’s my hobby, only the internet seems to care if it’s profitable or not to see they wanna get into it or hate on me. Most of time it’s gonna lose money and I track those sorts of things in my haverst vidoes. I will not be continuing this conversation and tbh I would prefer just to turn comments off soon on my channels sense i say what I wanna say in my vidoes in long and short form In crazyyyy detail, if people have nuance questions it’s all been answered my short form vidoes are only able to be 1 minutes there’s isn’t enough time to to say it all that’s why I post longer explanations in long form. have a good day :D

      @@DitchTheFlock mate, genuinely, why are you so upset and defensive? The entire point I was making was it's NOT an attack. It's literally just a completely harmless neutral question about the mechanics of a hobby that IS relevant to a lot of people. If you like cycling and I ask you "Ey cool hobby, how much do you spend on that? Is it affordable?" then this is the equivalent of you yelling back at me to fuck off and throwing a rock at me... why? How is just... wanting to gather information about the cost of a hobby a personal attack against you? Maybe just relax a little bit mate. Take a deep breath.

You really need me to obviously state that I pick the pebbles out of the water befor I drain the water otherwise, clearly otherwise people like you assume I let them go down the drain. You know I can’t say everything in every 1 minute video you have to use your brain and assume a little bit that I’m not an complete idiot
