At the risk of getting some developers angry; There are those who use a $10K system to create websites; And, don't see the performance issues when they view the website when it is pulled from their Blazing-fast PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSDs ... on their 8-core systems. To be honest, there are no slow websites running on a local host from a $10K beast. But, lighthouse as a KPI is also a poor KPI. Put up a splash page where nothing loads until there is user interaction and the KPI is at 100% and all values. You can also achieve 100% by waiting 10 seconds before requesting the real page content, (10 seconds is the timeout for lighthouse -- everything after 10 seconds is free). I'm not against the 10K beast sandbox, but some websites are bloated, and the user experience on some sites is not good on say a Chromebook. But a good lighthouse score does not mean the user experience is Good. Sorry, but optimizing the score is just deferring the bloat till after the test. But again don't take away my $10K sandbox beast, it is cool and I like it. Some pages are just so bloated that a nicely designed fast splash screen is an improvement. But for SEO I have a concern that in the long term, Google is going to consider them the same a cloaked content, because well I shouldn't say ...
