He should be the AB’s 15. 😂 solves all of their problems. Massive boot, great handling skills, taller than any other back (6’5) so obviously high balls are a strength. Underrated speed, clutch decision maker and as brave as they come. No brainer for me.

This is what our current Bok squad lacks. As good as we are, our backline runners just dont ever look threatening. They sort of go at the defence at a 3/4 pace. Our backline back in these days ran with intent and always looked dangerous.

@@Ollies2CentsWardill I agree with you, but as a unit, our backline has no attacking chemistry. Individually, they can shred defenses, but together with ball in hand, they rarely look threatening.

    • @StevenBenjaminAuthor

difficult to compare; the modern defensive patterns don't always allow for it. Defensive 'patterns' were pretty much non-existent in the 80's, and then there's the mix of pro (Gerber) and semi pro players. The game today, with the type of athletes, .... for instance when Kolbe and the like are able to get into space, its often because the team 'engineers' the space through phases to manipulate the opposition, generating that kind of room to maximize Kolbe's ability

I was at school with Bryan. So I am absolutely biased, and rightly so, because he was an astonishing player! But, I will tell you straight, that he will be honoured to be mentioned in the same breath as Jonah, and he will probably say he doesn't deserve it. Jonah was a force of nature. Bryan is my boy, no doubt. But...
