I mean, they're in clear sight right there, not far. Closer to an hour. Because what LOOKED like gentle slopes up turned out to be a half dozen deep gulches, mini-valleys and canyons of their own in between and on all sides. Entire towns, armies or blimp airports could be up there out of sight. Well, in this case even a large plane. If it breaks up, mixes with the brush and topography? TMI note on Alaska; glacial crevasses that could swallow a building. I took a picture of the farm compound (cabin, barn, sheds). With elevation defining the true complexity, it was a shockingly-tiny little dot in the vastness. An entire FARM would be hard to spot unless close enough and looking in the same direction.

What a tragic list ?

All I can say about Air New Zealand is that In economy trans Tasman. I’d prefer a can or bottle of soft drink or wine thank you very much. Not a quarter filled small plastic cup that you have to get a flight attendant to constantly refill. So you don’t. Great savings for them. Also the economy seat pitch between down under & LAX is more spacious on Qantas than Air New Zealand. I found.
