I’m hollowing

I think we still do it because it's the greatest accomplishment in the WHOLE world. I'm just saying, being a mom and raising two children in the fear and admonition of the LORD is my greatest accomplishment. It's an actual duty. I'm not trying to be mean here, I'm just saying our original job was and is the most important thing we can contribute to society.

@@DannieRaye1386 I myself am also a mother, but to say that it is my greatest accomplishment is relegating everything else that I have done and that I am down to one thing that makes me me. i did not have my first child until I was 30, so I had a life before I had children. I am accomplished, I am traveled, I am educated, I am so many things that give more to my children because of it. But to say that I am “mom” is only one part of the entirety that is me. It is a role that I have, but I am not defined by it by any stretch of the imagination, and that was the spirit of my initial comment. Why must we be relegated to just one role if we are female. VP Harris is a step-mom, but to say that she should be the “mom” of America is downgrading her form Comander in Cheif. We do not generally ask the men running for office to be the “dad” of America. Being a mother is challenging, time consuming, suffering, pain, beauty, and divinity all wrapped up into one package and it is not for everyone. It is by far one of the hardest jobs on the planet. But, some people can find it rewarding. However, there are those who cannot or do not want to become a mother, and we cannot look down upon those who have been forced to or chose to walk a different path. While I am very happy that you love your contribution to out society, I cannot forget the women who have come before us that gave so much to society without playing the role of mother and in some cases even while playing the role of mother. Do you know Marie Curie as a mother? I knew her as a famous scientist who helped society understand more about radioactivity. Simone de Beauvoir gave a lot to philosophy and the question of what is a woman and what impact society plays on a woman and societal roles and norms. Even many of my own teachers and professors in my life and even my doctors, gynecologists, therapists, so many people have been strong women, some with a family, some without, but that does not in any shape or form mitigate the good and their own contribution to society. We all have been given different lives to live, different circumstances to deal with, and different ways to react to everything. If you find comfort in your family and your faith, I am happy for you and cheer you on! Please, remember though, Jesus teaches us to love all and be kind and understanding.
