I think that durability is individual, depending on how it is used. If the crucible is constantly kept warm, its service life is long. If the temperature of the crucible cycles (it heats up every day, it cools down every day), the risk of the crucible bursting is greater. We consider crucible to be a consumable. Furnace TAG 180/12/K uses a Weishaupt gas burner for heating, with an input of 300 kW. It is possible to use natural gas or propane, or even fuel oil. To use crucibles, it is necessary to emphasize certain rules: 1) The new crucible should be well dried, 2) The crucible should not be heated by thermal shock, 3) It is not recommended to melt metal that has previously solidified in the crucible (metal expands on heating and may cause the crucible to rupture) 4) When filling with the charge, the crucible should not be exposed to sharp shocks 5) In flame furnaces, it is necessary to pay attention to the correct adjustment of the burners. If the above points are observed, the life of the crucibles can be calculated in the order of hundreds of melts.
