Our world has gone to f&ckin sh?t hell compared to this. I don't care how easy it is to click on various BS on a screen. We are headed into a technological not just and or only an environmental abyss.
Look at the physical makeup of the children comparted to 5 decades ago only. Great noticeable decline in physis and mentis. ıt will get quick now that the drain begins to empty.

Let's not forget (16:37) - Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead.
I wonder if everyone said /re-nay-sens/ back then. Nice album; wish they could get out the master tapes and do an up-to-date remaster of it.

Superb, thank you for uploading
My local library had a copy of this. As a teenager in about 1990 I borrowed it and played it many times.it was out of production and no longer commercially available so the only way I could get my own copy was to record it on cassette (piracy, I know!). I listened to it more times than I could count. I have the cassette still but nothing to listen to it on for 20 years. This has brought back some fine memories!

I used to have this album on vinyl LP back in the 1970s. Now I have it back again. Thanks!
Thanks for posting side 2 of this album. I liked the first side, but the second side has been carved into my soul for decades, and I've waited a long time to hear this again
I cannot thank you enough for posting this. I bought the LP in the 80s,, wore it out, and bought another copy. I was going to get it as one of my first CDs, but, as others noted, it never came out. I've been trolling the internet every few years to see if I can find it, and this has been the first time. I'm glad I've lived long enough to hear this again. (I remember there were some legal-ownership issues over the album and that is why it was never released digitally.
The shawns are also used in Chinese Instrumental ensemble.
Thank you SO much for uploading this. I lost TWO copies it as I moved around the world for 30 years. I was fortunate enough to see the ensemble perform all of this twice. Once at Alice Tully Hall, just before Christmas in the late 70s, and then, rather bizarrely, in the small auditorium of the (exceptionally good) local library at a commuter town on Long Island. That library was run by some seriously intelligent people. They even had collections of paintings, HUGE ones, by Botero and Scholder. Don't know HOW they managed to do such things. Will you upload the second side as well? It has some wonderful songs, including a very nice performance of The Coventry Carol, and a traditional version of Balulalow - ie not the (exceptionally beautiful) Benjamin Britten one.
This is about as authentic a sound as you'll ever hear, until the time machine appears in Tesco.
Finally, someone has put this on RUclips! It never came out on digital form so it’s not on Spotify or other online streaming services. It’s been my favourite Christmas album for many years now although I’ve only had a poorly recorded cassette of it. In particular it has my favourite versions of “There is no Rose of Such Virtue “ and “Coventry Carol.” To me it’s the music pod people trying to get and stay warm at Christmas time. Many’s thanks.
Conhecendo hoje esta obra prima! Viva o gênio Munrow!
Sweet Music and Sound🌹 КРАСИВО-יפה 👑
Tief, freundlich und gut.
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful record. I thought I'd never be able to hear it (one of my favourite LPs) again.
14:39 ?????
I have this LP. I had to go to Cecil Sharpe house to buy it!
yep me too i was so taken by the sound of the Regal, that i phonedf the makers (listed on the album cove) at some 9 pm, and asked the price of the Regal, and in a plummy voice he said "They start at four thousand pounds , sir"
I've just found a copy in a charity shop - mint condition! I love that Side A is educational and Side B is the music. So very 1970s. Reminds me of the stuff I was made to listen to in my music 'A' level, but I appreciate it more now.
This brings back memories of David visiting my parents' house to borrow instruments. Great times.
I met your dad and managed to get his autograph at a Norvis course in Bede and Hild in Durham in 1977.
@@stevenmccann7080 that's a good memory. Sadly he passed away in 2014. Mary passed away just this year.
@@johncousen345 That's sad to hear. Your dad made good low recorders that featured on David Munrow's Holborne recording. Your dad was a very good craftsman.

Where's James Blades' Nackers?
This is legit. Very cool. Does anybody know where a translation might be found?
I've missed this old record! My very favorite Christmas album growing up. I could kick myself for getting rid of so many of my lps.
Listening to this record now and wanted to share with my mum.
I was just listening to this LP at my friend's place for a small Christmas dinner get together. Thank you for posting this!
You're very welcome! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thanks for uploading this. Great version and a good recording of it here.
Thank you so much! I've been looking for this music for years. This is a real gift - blessings to you.
Me, too! This is my very favorite Christmas album ever!
Thank you for sharing this. I used to have a cassette tape which finally died. I was afraid that I would never hear this album again.
Wow! I had recorded this from the vinyl at the public library shortly after it was released. I lost the cassette about 10 years ago and have been looking for it ever since! Thanks for posting!
You're welcome. I found this record at Bookman's in Tucson years ago. I've seen them now and then offered for sale on ebay.
@@josephsearlymusic2858 Ah, Bookmans! I'm a Tucsonan too, and am grateful you found and posted this. Thank you!
Great to find this. I bought this album round about 1972 and have since lost it. Munrow was a great genius, and is still sadly missed.
Where would we be without Munrow's recordings? They feel authentic and representative of how this music would have originally sounded. Thank you for uploading this.
He was a pioneer. Sadly, he died young.
Except that the LP is titled "Mediaeval" but what they play is actually High Renaissance ;)
Mmmmm the first track be fire tho
Memories of a recital given at Birmingham Art Gallery by very young DM and an even younger Chris Hogwood!
O wow. I had this LP. In fact it's possibly still in the loft ! Thanks for reminding me of its existence. Munrow's work should be more widely known.
I bought this for $1 at a used record store. Such beautiful music! Love the bells throughout this work.
Thank you, thank you! This album was so important to me back in the 80s and it was never released on CD. Are you going to be posting side 2 as well? Merry Christmas!
It was already posted: ruclips.net/video/W1otqLjTRmE/видео.html Merry Christmas!
@@alonginessymphonettechrist261 Much obliged...
I had this in cassette form in the early 1980s and missed it! Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome.
Some of these tunes were played in the Museum Of London's Tudor Gallery in the 80s and 90s.
Love it! Thank you!
Thank you! Love this!
Thanks for this! I LOVE IT! IT changed my life when I saw it around 1979....
found a copy recently for £1 in a charity shop, so keep your eyes open!
Keep 'em peeled.
thank's ive been looking for this
Some of these tunes used to be played in the Museum of London's Medieval section; I'm talking 30 years ago.
I am glad you have put side 2 of the above record into the public domain....!
