We are half way finished with the cabin and this weekend coming the outside panels will go up and hopefully the metal roof. I plan on doing some fishing next weekend and outdoor cooking out there

DIY is what Louisiana livin is all about. People there hunt and fish for their own food. I went there for 3 weeks as a kid in late 80's. I was in Slidell. I went crabbing on lake Pontchartrain etc. Soft shell Blue Crabs are tasty af. I'll never forget that experience. Salutamu!

what you doing awesome !! enjoy watching process !! nothing more relaxing just being away from sirens traffic noise !! one thing are going to bring the trees down that are real close to you structure, i know the shade is nice but those trees dont root deep wet soil & a good wind they blow down anyway looking good & soon you will be able to enjoy the fruit of your labor. & are you going to use canal water or sink a well ?
A 600L water tote and I will have gutters to collect rain water. Been looking into ways to filter it. We gonna trim the trees when we get a chance ima climb up and top them

Heavy cream, butter, and onions. It really compliments the fish. You could even use fish or crab lumps. I had a couple video problems and audio problems. Thank you for subbing!

I appreciate you. Going out tomorrow and try my luck again. The sharks have been pretty bad and I think that’s what messing with my fishing. Gonna test that theory out. She’ll be in more videos once I finish this camp and can show her the outdoors

i dont think you will need ceiling joist. Figuring our your birdsmouth is easy. Do it from the floor, cut it out, and test fit it on the floor then bring it out to the rim joist to see if they fit, hard to explain, but its a trick an old carpenter taught me when i built my shed.

I know all that lumber is prob costing you a small fortune but you definitely getting there keep up the good work.

Put a 4x4 dead center and put a 2x10 strong back long ways front to back
Just left the lumber store and got another 2x8x16 and I will notch the 3 center supports to it and lag bolt it down also got some hurricane ties for it
Every post will have 2 4x4 cut on 45s for more bracing
