Henchmen
Ever wondered what the average henchman may have to gripe about? This documentary gives them the opportunity to air their grievances for the first time...
Actually...
Originally conceived as a potential comic strip, Henchmen gestated in the mind of writer, Richard Reynolds, as a simple series of henchmen related observations concerning the kind of things they would complain about to their family and friends. Re-jigging the idea as a talking heads documentary for a twenty-four hour film contest, that ultimately went un-entered, the idea was pulled out of mothballs again as an intended quickie shoot before we got the ball rolling on another supernatural short called Evening Exorcise, back in ...

John Constantine: Hellblazer - The Soul Play
Просмотров 92 тыс.10 лет назад
WATCH THROUGH THE CREDITS! Made for a fraction of the cost of a single FX shot of the Constantine TV show, by talented Midlands based creators working for no pay, this all swearing, all smoking, all grifting tale of John Constantine is set in the Vertigo Hellblazer continuity, months after Peter Milligan's final issue, and, we think, features the most accurate portrayal of Constantine yet put t...
Family Business
Просмотров 44910 лет назад
Waking Dream Studios' first foray into the world of family friendly comedy (albeit only two and a half minutes worth), Family Business was originally conceived for a film-making competition, the deadline of which, unfortunately, we missed, then it went on the back burner while we worked on other projects, but better late than never. This is the acting debut of the short's star, Emily Shiel, but...

A wee taster of Waking Dream Studios' forthcoming Hellblazer fan film, featuring the most accurate Constantine ever put to screen.
*EPIC!*
You got the pronunciation right!
This deserves more views
Nice. Did he cheat at the beginning? ( covering the real cards with an illusion of Jacks) or at the end? (covering the jacks with an illusion) Either way, cool short.
YOU GUYS ARE FUCKİN AMAZİNG, İ WANT MORE VİDEOS
Hey fuck Matt Ryan bro this guy is the real John Constantine No I wanna see this guy on a motion picture. This guy will nail the roll perfectly.
Ace king really isn’t a high hand to have in that poker game
mate, where did you buy that trenchcoat?? awsome vid!
Way too overcooked. Too eager. Too forced. Oh look, a dude with his face pock-marked is a demon because we put shit on his face and squelched his voice.
Didn't know this existed. I don't crave comics accurate Constantine rhymes with fine. You guy filled that gestalth and it looks actually very good for fan film. Better than some multi million dollars films and shows
A MA Z I N G !!!!!!!!!!
Absolute Constantine plus extras. Nice twist to plot. Love it.
Just found this. Love it. Only one gripe: actor really should have blonded up his hair.
WHAT CAN I SAY BUT THAT I LOVED IT, LOVED IT , LOVED IT I JUST LOVE THESE RENDITIONS OF JOHN CONSTANTINE AS MUCH AS MATT RYAN'S VERSION OF THE CHARACTER!!!GARY BAILEY KING OF DARKNESS AND GOD OF THUNDER AND LIGHTNING
Hi all, this is David Chabeaux. I played John Constantine in this fantastic little short. Reckon it's about time we shot another updated one....?! What say you, Waking Dream??!
Hi David! Definitely a long over life update! I hope it comes to fruition (a year after you posted this!) and you don the trenchcoat again! From, A fellow Johnny boy cosplayer
Please do, this is the BEST depiction of Constantine ever, us Hellblazer fans are out there still hoping for a spot-on representation of the character and what you and everyone else involved in this short film did was amazing ! I hope it does come to fruition, hellblazer forever !!🔥
really bad!!
Constantine (Ta-e-yn) is apparently how his name is actually spoken according to his author
02:36 and that should've been the first massive red flag. he knows he can't do sh*t to you but he still walks in with balls as big as a cart
Great work, fellas! This was amazing! You lads on instagram?
Very kind. Unfortunately our production team disbanded some years ago, so we don't have much of an social media presence any longer. Your, the director.
am I the only one who waiting for this to continue? this one got soul of Hellbalzer. I saw it many years ago, still the best adoptation of comic book.
Unfortunately grown-up life got in the way and our production team went our separate ways. Thanks for returning to this film though, I'm glad people are still enjoying it. Yours, the director.
Will they ever make another one? I hope so
It would be nice, I'd love to return to the series, but grown-up life got in the way, we've started businesses and had kids and such since we made this short, so find it difficult making time to get the gang back together. I do write and draw comics when I get a bit of spare time though (not Hellblazer ones, unfortunately, I think DC would have something to say.)
I keep coming back to this when I dip into Hellblazer comics. It's such a good interpretation, right down to Constantine's accent... 'south London, with a tinge of scouse' If Hellblazer is picked up for another adaptation, I hope the team behind it use this film as a point of reference
Very kind words, Wilbur, and much appreciated. It pleases me a great deal that fans of the original Hellblazer run return to this short periodically. Between us, it was always my secret dream that some kind of showrunner would contact us in regards to developing a rebooted Constantine series, but it never happened :) Yours, the director.
Halloween coming at this is still the best thing.
Wow the way of acting and in short content everything was nice, actors are from alike comics
Spoilers Why did he bother with the jack of hearts? It wasn't that when he drew it and he got no benefit from changing it
In the sequel I would love to see John Constantine teamup with Batman, Hellboy, Liz Sherman, Raven, Starfire, Zatanna, and Power rangers mystic force to fight against The master, Necroali, koragg the knight wolf, and the new monster What do you think?
Good fan film, can you do a sequel to it?
The makeup of these monsters are very good
Seriously this is fantastic. Why can't talented people like you make the upcoming HBO Hellblazer show instead J J Abrams.
Bless you, very kind. My sentiments too :)
This deserves more
I wish there was more films of him
THIS IS JOHN!!!! No American accent, no dark hair, this is the punk we love!
Creative make up. love the poker guy with parts of his face gone, Well done. Creativity beats big budgets with low energy actors. P.S: 'Shut your Trump..Pre-cognition ? ;-)
Hi we're an OTT platform which provide people with amazing films like yours free of cost and we loved your project and would want to showcase your movie on our platform, If you'd be interested please mail us on info@moontv.co
Years later and i still love this
This is fantastic!
Take my fucking money
Darren Maffucci is a nonce
You guys ever plan on coming back for a sequel?
the scene from justice league dark tho... "we both cheated, I just did it better" was so smooth
Actually that scene from JLD will not be how John does things. Here, he wins by old school sleight-of-hand cheating, being a master con-man, but in JLD he just uses "magic". An important part of JC's character is that he is a conman who lies and cheats on a daily basis, not just a snarky British mage with some vices.
I can't help feeling like the actor would make a better John Taylor than John Constantine. Still, this was a superb effort that really did capture the feeling of the old Hellblazer comics better than the TV show ever did. Amazing job.
Shade abides
"I've a procession ghosts tied to me like Jacob Marley's fucking chains, I've told 'em to sod off but they won't, they all blame me for their untimely deaths."
Is it bad that I like all the constantine stuff in the same ammount (with exeption of the god awfull heanu movie)? I love the comics, I love the show, I love the animated stuff and I love the fan stuff...
Can I just say, what John changed his hand to, wasn't just a flush. A flush wouldn't have beaten 4 of a kind. However, what John had, was a straight flush.(second to best hand) I know you're probably aware of this so please, don't get on my back about it, I'm only mentioning it because it made me do a double take when John said 'flush' rather than 'straight flush'. I understand it may have sounded better to just say "my flush", even if it's incorrect.
Ive accepted Matt Ryan as the canon John but this performance was fucking fantastic! Definitely a little more canon and cunning act than Matt and i loved it
Matt’s Constantine suffered from mediocre writing at times. However he did say that he’d live to come back and do the “real” John Constantine. I’m absolutely sure he would absolutely kill it as the more morally bankrupt, cunning and manipulative John that we see in the Hellblazer comics. Matt is absolutely perfect and if he gets fantastic writing it would be one of the best shows ever made, because Constantine has always been one of the best writing and story in all pf comics.
@@luisz222 John isn't morally bankrupt
@@FirstnameLastname-my7bz i guess i chose the wrong word maybe morally ambiguous or questionable woulda been better.
@@luisz222 He is only either of these too because he is greatly limited and isn't put in convinient situations like "legit" heroes like Batman or Superman (unless very rare when both had to kill people during Bronze-post Crisis era comics) either of those beacons of Hope(tm) and no-kill bs were put into honest no-way situations they would be as bad if not worse than John or even comics version of The Seven (at the selective point before those superheroes went completely insane and evil).
Yes. Yeeesss.... YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
I'm surprised this didn't get much attention, it's almost like a love letter to the comics, they've got it all right, even down to the scar over Constantine's eye and cheek. Great work, wish you guys could make your own mini-series, this felt like Constantine brought to life. It's great!
Many thanks, pal, I (the writer/director) am a huge fan of the Vertigo Hellblazer comics and wanted to layer as much comic based info into the dialogue as could seem natural and hoped it would hit home with other big fans. I was upset when DC cancelled the Hellblazer title to (mis-)use Constantine in New 52, so for all intents and purposes wrote this film to be issue #301 and picked up where Milligan left off and put the characer back in the right direction. Anyways, I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
Richard Reynolds, This is pretty faithful to the source. I've got a few minor complaints, but that's more to do with the way I am than anything. Constantine is from Liverpool but he could have lost his accent over time and his look was originally based on Sting but how many people look like Sting, never mind how many look like him and can act? Despite the fact that I'm moaning about little things, this is a masterwork and I wish you the success that you so richly deserve. By the way I like that his name is pronounced properly for a change.
@@abegarfield3754 many thanks, dude. I too have quibbles with most adaptations beyond generally respecting them, it's a fun part of fandom. To address a few of your own, I wanted this short to act, essential, as issue #301 of the cancelled Vertigo run of the comics, so I wanted an actor that looked more like Simon Bisley's later interpretation than the early stuff, and I thought Dave looked dead-on. As far as the accent goes I would've liked as slight Scouse lilt, but Dave isn't great with accents so I thought a neutral accent would be better than a crap one, justifying it (if only to smooth out my own quibbles) as you point, with the fact that he left Liverpool in his mid-teens and has done hefty traveling since.
This guy doesnt know to play constantine role
Also, props to the guys playing the demons! Classic Hellblazer patter! The makeup might be... meh, but their acting more than makes up for it!
4 years on. Criminal that this hasn’t got millions of views
Because he isn't part of the cape wearing crowd.
