In Bharatanatyam and classical dance, rhythmic patterns or structures have different names depending on their context and cultural influences.
There are Six Yathi Patterns.
SAMA, VISHAMA, MRIDANGA, DAMARU, GOPUCHA, and SHROTHOVAHA define the rhythmic progression.
