You can only really see it in slow motion. But Joe did connect & Rocky shook it off. When Rocky put his head against your chest it left you with no punching room & your power was diminished. Also, unlike fighters like Tyson Fury who telegraphs punches & breathes heavily with his mouth open by the 4th round, how many of Rocky's most potent punches come from his shoulder with all his shoulder weight behind it. That's devastating. Rocky also never stops, he was relentless (much like what Mike Tyson did) -- it's always moving forward, pressure throughout & there are no clinches to rest. Both hands fly constantly. With all of Rocky's precise head movement, he never head-butted. Any wonder in the early days Cus D'Amato helped train Rocky. And later, Cus trained Mike Tyson. He was old and both knees were destroyed, i was playng at phisical slow pace, with no strength, so most of his goals are 1 or 2 touches...but still he made the defenders look stupid...and i m talking about italian defenders, not defensless teddy bears... He is similar to messi but with a better use of pauses, messi works more on acceleration, baggio was: move pause step oaus feint pause.
