I used to play a port of this on Game Gear and boy did I love it even though it literally just kicked my ass the entire time the game was turned on

This game was like impossible as an arcade game. And it wasnt just player skill. They wanted to suck as many coins out of players as possible. That 3rd and or 4th level was just a quarter generating scheme and designed that way on purpose. I remember when it was ported to SNES? and it wasnt nearly as hard. Because they removed half the items flying at you etc. Basically it was the original Souls game on steroids.
Real talk lol! Consort Radahn is easier Ryan this game 😂
The SNES is my all-time favorite console and several games in this group of top 100 games probably wouldn't make it into my own top 100, but it has left me interested in seeing what else is higher up on the list!

I've never gotten close to beating a game like this. I think, or at least I tell myself, these games were relics of arcade games designed to take ALL your quarters. So they are super hard and if you play it and eat shit, it's not your fault, it was made specifically to crush you.
