Thank you. In the original, the last three variations are in a perfect 4-th higher key, which makes it strange to play them in succession. It is a bit of an unlikely mystery, though, as Spanish vihuela of the time had many sizes, it may have been intended to be shifted. So I transposed the first part and reconstructed it. This was most likely the method used by the great Narciso Yepez in his recordings of the 1960s.

Gracias. Cambio la afinación dependiendo de la obra, pero en general la séptima cuerda está en Re y la octava en Do o Si. En esta pieza no toco Si grave, pero uso Si para que sea más fácil tocar algunas notas graves.

@@masahiroumemoto I’m so happy to know that you studied with José Tomás. He was the mentor of my two mentors, you probably know them from Alicante, they’re both Mexican. I studied with Marco Antonio Anguiano, he studied with José Tomás at the end of the 1970’s. When Marco Antonio Anguiano died, I get to study with Ariel Hinojosa, he studied with José Tomás in the early 1980’s.

I studied under Maestro Tomás in Alicante a long time ago, in the early 70's, so I probably never met either of those two guitarists. Anyway, I guess we are kindred spirits. Let us keep up the good work.
