Building a Top and Bottom Shelf for This Industrial Stack of Drawers Pt 2
Просмотров 1463 месяца назад
This is part 2 of a 2 part series where we transform an industrial drawer unit into a piece of furniture for your home or office. We used 2x6 pine from our local big box store and made it into a beautiful top and bottom shelf. We're super happy the way it turned out, so see it for yourself in this video.

This is part one of a two-part series where we build a top and bottom shelf using 2x6 lumber for this industrial stack of drawers to be used inside the home. (Very frustrating that RUclips doesn't promote part 2 at all and has barely any views even though I have added a card to this video to go and see part 2. Should be natural for people to see part 2 since it's right there and so easy to find...

My Taylor Swift Collection Auctioned Off on Ebay. Part 1
Got it sold for $650. I had it for sale with mirror for about 3 weeks and no bites, and took the mirror of and sold it in less than a week without it. Crazy how having the mirror detracted from its desirability.
Lots are made in china and chec republic. 30 years ago few murano " maestri "went to china to teach the techniques . Many venetians were outraged and predicted the end of our ancient art . In ancient times this would have not be possible ,venetian authorities would have killed them as traitors of the republic . Times have changed and we have culture exchange now . Murano is still a beautiful island to visit with hundreds of shops and furnaces filled with beautiful pieces .Alfredo Barbini is a very famous maestro .
I've read that it was very secretive that those that made glass could not leave the island of Murano and could result in death if they were to divulge their glass making secrets.
@agomodern exactly . Nowdays it's almost impossible to keep a secret .
@@giovannamoro8564 Too funny!
I agree you took advantage of her understand your business and you have to make a profit, but that was ridiculous
I never even said in the video what I paid for the bedroom set, so don't make an ass out of yourself by assuming.
Beautiful job. It bothers me that you don’t wear gloves when working with chemicals
I never touch the chemical, so zero contact. Oh, you are referring to the lacquer thinner, not the stripper. The stain comes off my hands pretty easily with soap and baking soda.
I have a book I found at an estate sale, "Made With Oak." Gave some good refinishing tips. Thanks for uploading.
Thanks for watching. :)

I don't bother going to estate sales till the last day when everything is 50 to 75 % off most in my area are so high you need a loan to buy anything
I've gotten some good stuff waiting until 50% off days, but usually try to be first in line because I've made over $1,000 because of it quite a few times, so it literally pays to be early. I have a few videos on my channel where you can see us in action being first in line and scoring great finds.
Love the fox!
For some reason pieces by manufacturers are more sought after, but pieces like the fox are one of a kind!
@@agomodern I know it’s crazy people want mass produced things, when one of a kind are so much better!
I love the hand turned wood bowl. Very cool.
Me too!
Hi, new subscriber in the Phoenix area. I like that you buy items that are not absolutely perfect. Yes, they are worth having. Lynn and the labradoodles, Archie and Ranger.
Welcome to the channel and I appreciate your comments.
Made a big difference cleaning, some cute things🦋💓
ruclips.net/video/qsP07cFXU7s/видео.html - it's called AVVENTURINA . it is a special copper-based glass, I have used it in two variants: brown and blue, but there are green and also red. it is very particular and difficult to use. it has a difficult compatibility with other glasses. usually the Murano furnaces import it from morocco, excluding us
Where do you think this piece was made?
hate estate sales when the owners put there's sentimental value on it I'm not there for that
For sure! There definitely is more to hate about Estate sales not mentioned in the video. I've had some great experiences as well and they can be a lot of fun.
your collection is stunning. Thank you so much for showing it.
I really want to purchase the tray, just what I need👍🦋
Love the tray 7:23
You are so funny and so right😅 I've been doing estate sales and yard sales since 1998, and feel the same as you about hating estate sales. Crazy experiences because of crazy people. I strive to be first too.
Appears that I'm in good company. lol
Wow! Does it have a Murao mark on the bottom? Beautiful piece.
Which piece?
All of them.
Hello there! I’m not so fond about what you did with the brass candle holders. I wonder what gave you the idea to spray them with lacqer? If you are keeping them yourself, of course you can do anything you like. But if you are going to sell them, your buyer may want to polish them and have a very hard time to decide what to do with them. I really would have appreciated if you had tried wax or polish instead, as those are reversible topcoats. Removing lacquer from brass is extremely difficult without hurting the surface of brass. But, once again, how did you come up with the idea?
LOL There was no way to polish these. These were sitting outside for who knows how many years. Polishing them probably would have been a far worse choice. I will be listing these on Etsy, so we'll see if it was a good choice or not. I am very, very picky about keeping things original or restoring furniture back to its former glory, but these were beyond polishing. To tell you the truth, I hate to polish brass and see too many people destroying decades of patina.
I do just a little wash with soap and water IF it has fat and dirt on it. Then I dry it and it finally I take a micro fiber cloth (the very fine cloth you can use to wash windows and glasses with). and then I just polish. It doesn’t scratch and it leaves patina. Try it yourself 😊
Beautiful finds!!😊
Thank you.
Nice collection!
Thank you. :)
Hello, is anyone out there? So funny how many views this is getting and barely anything on part 2 and less than 10 fingers of likes. Not sure if this video was too boring or it's the algorithm's fault. Lessoned learned: Don't do multiple part videos or just make them look like 2 unrelated videos.
Please never ever use steel wool. Take some hot water and normal dish soap and a dish brush and wash dust and fat away. Dry it. Take a microfiber cloth and polish it gently. Only the cloth - no steel/chemicals. Try it please!
Like I said, I don't polish my brass because the couple of times that I tried it ruined it. I know a RUclipsr that uses Bon Ami (which supposedly isn't a chemical) and white vinegar. I am tempted to try it, but scared that I won't be happy with the results. Might look good on a video, but in person might be a different thing. Supposedly the patina comes back within a couple of months, even though I find it hard to believe because the patina on the brass you find is decades old. The other thing is that I want to list some pieces of brass in my Etsy shop, but afraid people might not want the darker patina that it has.
Nice collection. Many lovely pieces. Several GREAT bookends. Whooooooo could ever part with the owl bookends?
Looking for the second video, it turned out so nice💓🦋
I found a legitimate 2nd state butcher cover for 9 dollars at a record store called jerry’s
I wonder how many there really are out there. Don't seem as rare as people think.
@@agomodern Inherited Canadian butcher cover from my father. He organized fundraising on radio. It remains a happy memory from my childhood.
@@arricammarques1955 Very cool!
When it comes to Butchers, the condition of the vinyl itself is practically meaningless. Doesn’t even have to have it at all. It's all about the cover.
I've never heard that from anyone before. Both matter really.
Gorgeous collection. Great explanation w clear examples! Thanks for sharing your beautiful murano and some knowledge. Nice video
Thank you so much!

We saw the boy statue in Belgium 🦋see brass I want, save some for me❤️
The first 6-8 transparent glass objects could be produced in the former Czechoslovakia too - and some of the later ones too. It's really hard to tell, Czechoslovakia was really strong in mid-century modern glass art and the masters often studied in Italy. (Theit artwork is also quite pricey - especially if your able to identify the designer.) They also used to polish clean the bottom. Chinese copies have sometimes rough bottoms, but it's not always the case.
Very interesting. If they are from former Czechoslovakia, then 99% of the people misrepresent them.
@@agomodern that's true. Often they're sold as Murano pieces, because those are more desirable for the collectors.😢
@@Mentanyul (Right off the bat, the first few are Murano and I found documentation since I made this video.) Without proof they are from the Czech, I'm sticking with them being from Murano. Since I made this video I have come across more documentation and might make another updated video as well as respond to the comments. Like I said in the video, if I got some of the information wrong, I will gladly look at documented proof, but no one, as of yet, provided any.
What seal? A sticker that can easily fall off?
An seiner Stelle würde ich mir mal eine Reportage über Glasbläser in Murano ansehen.
Hey, even negative comments from negative people benefit my channel, so thank you. Like I said in the video, if I get something wrong, I welcome the criticism, but you have offered zero documented information, so for me it's just speaking out your butt. lol
Ach ja noch eins Murano würde nie,nie so dickes Glas herstellen, wer weiss woher er die Aschenbecher hat,Bin immer so sauer wenn das Murano Style sein soll.
I welcome documented criticism, of which you have provided none. Go do some research and get back to me with verifiable facts.
Nie im Leben Murano vorne blau hinten weiss,Blender.
A blender? Not sure what you mean by that.
Wollt Ihr mich verarschen nie und nimmer Murano und der Typ nervt so schlimm die Stimme meine armen Ohren.
Even stranger I found a bootleg butchers cover at goodwill
Probably worth $40-60 USD.
Wow, you must have a big house to have so many in your collection. Lovely.
I have them all in totes.
