The Preferred Lie
Канада
Добавлен 15 окт 2019
We live in a Netflix/Google world, where all of our technology is personalized.
We kept asking ourselves, “why do golfers still see the same static top 100 lists when all of us have different golf course preferences?” To us, it didn’t make any sense. So, we built some software to help us all keep track of those post-round conversations of places we love (or hate).
Welcome to The Preferred Lie, where you can;
1. Add your courses played.
2. Rank them by category (fun factor, hidden gem, value, overall, bucket list).
3. Upload your photos/comment on courses.
4. Rank your fav holes (par 3s, 4s, 5s, green sites).
5. Build your own LIE and share it with your friends.
Go to www.preferredlie.com/, and create a free account to start ranking your fav golf courses.
Let us know what’s broken, we’ve got a long way to go.

Wowzers, old timer pre Golf Course AMAZING footage guys and gals you captured the place. I remember loving playing the game weekly here ; others claimed it was a course for goats...THANKS ...
Lane Clow is prior US Coast Guard not Navy fyi. He is my father.
Great video ,Northumberland Links a beautiful golf course ,Great work John Mills .
Sick! Doing bell bay, highlands, links, and cliffs this coming June. What's a typical tip for a caddy?
Did you all continue to play?
Really great stuff. Beautiful footage.
One my list courses to play. What is the music on the video?
Love the sound commentary by C-Frase on the 13th tee. I mean, how many architects consider the auditory experience??? Brilliant.
Well done fellas!! Love,Love,Loved it!!!!!
Good video. I 'm afraid, I have to say, I miss the trees. Fiona was a cruel renovator.
Great Video, I play tomorrow with my son-in-law. Hoping for great early October weather.
Very nice video. I appreciate the insights of an architect being included as you play. Great idea. Mike isn't wise, but he is wiser.
Another fine show and visit to Inverness where the pit ponies once trod. Cabot Links has re-invigorated the area and added to the community that once hummed when the mines were busy. Beauty of a job building this gem of a green paradise sprayed by the wild sea. It was especially nice to hear from the artist builders. A Forest for Callum by Cape Breton author Frank MacDonald about that neck of the coast , read on the deck right there, score 5.
You fellows present a fair picture of Belfast Highland Greens and Campground and your other shows are on my list to watch. The greens were renovated by Graham Cooke and Associates when he was working in the Maritimes years ago, and they run true today. The Belfast community built the course from fields and forests and took over running the campgrounds from the province. Locals and other visitors enjoy it as much as you, and the junior golf program helps the future players play well. Thanks for replacing your divots and fixing the ball marks, you are welcome back anytime.

Fantastic video, really captures the essence of Northumberland. As a member I could not be prouder of the course and more excited about the changes made and those yet to come!
Thanks for visiting guys!
This series is just so good! Makes me proud to be from Nova Scotia.
How did you legally get drone footage in a Canadian National Park?
there's a process with Parks Canada to gain permitting approvals. from there... the weather just has to co-operate!
Amazing
"Which cloud?" :D This is just awesome guys. Thanks for having us!
Miss you Emil!
One of the best courses in the world!
Great video!
John and Christine make an amazing team.
Awesome to see it boys. You did it justice. Proud to see you on red soil, and great storytelling. Cardis leading the ferry stretch 😂
Cardis = travel sherpa
"...growing up, i preferred the nice-conditioned, pristine private clubs..." - what a wild arrangement of words. great visuals of the course. quite stunning!
Ian with the president's cup jinx

My first ever true links golf experience was playing Cabot Links about 10 years ago. 1st hole (what is now #10), downwind par 4 that's about 385 yards and I drive it into the greenside bunker on the right. That was different! Welcome to links golf. :)
Special place.
Looking forward to this season!
Golf Addict 🏌️♂️
This video should have a disclaimer *public course you’ll never play. Just learned about this course a cpl years ago, tried 3 times last year and I’m to 5 attempts this year.
🔥🔥🔥
Lfg
It's ok, I would put Maple ridge waaaaaaay ahead and the mcall next then shag 3rd. There are some cool holes and the scenery is pretty wicked but not my cup of tea for $50,and don't get me started on the pace of play.Like he said, jeans is welcome and that will tell you all you need to know and what to expect for pace of play.lol
My first ever eagle was on 18, a tap in with my driver.lol
Bandon trails has gotta be my favorite course ever
Heading here on Monday for the first time, Golfer’s Journal BTS event. Thought I’d give this a rewatch and it did not disappoint. Ian Andrew’s contribution was fantastic!
That's funny mentioning that he's European because you are too.
Ya. Shag's a good muni. Big hitters get into trouble because its tight with the doglegs and tree lined fairways. But to suggest it could be priced in the $80 range is laughable. The place would be empty. I know this is a slick PR video meant for out of towners but frankly for us that golf here often its a bit of an eye roller. Par 68. Seven par 3's, 3 par 5's. Good little track but lets not make it like some kinda Pebble Beach. 😅😅
Waterton has some of the best holes in western Canada imo. #2, 3, 13-17. All the par 3's are a test. Definitely a hidden gem. Good to see it finally getting some attention from the agronomy side.
Hey do you think general admission for presidents cup in seotember is worth it can i walk around and watch all the holes shots ?
this is probably one perk of RM, there are some solid viewing areas. 16 green/17 tee, 6 green/7 tee, 10 green/14 green, 12 green/13 tee all come to mind. here's a map for your reference - rmgc.clubhouseonline-e3.com/Courses_photo_galleries/Blue_Course#&gid=null&pid=1
@@ThePreferredLie thanks
My son got his first Eagle on #1 last year!!
I am 70 now and golf has been about friends and relationships. Stepping. Dornock was very much the same as playing Royal County Down 17 years ago on my first trip to Ireland. We were literally blown away in 35 mile an hour winds. The sights were just so emotional of seeing this “ perfect” picture out in front of you.
The scenery looks incredible but the devastation of trees by the pine beetle is front and center! A lot of dead trees that add to fuel load during a fire!
Banff Springs so beautiful.
Hi Guys love to see Tam on the map i been playing golf at Tam for the past 40 years i won many Club champions at Tam , it's my home course and i love it great job keep. I remember when Moe Norman give us lessons on Saturday mornings can't forget great time. My grand son is into golf he love the game.👍👍
