I sometimes use watercolour paper or printing paper. If you gesso it first with clear acrylic gesso it has plenty tooth

Did you intentionally choose the terra-cotta paper because you were putting a complement of purple over it?

I love your set up there. What are you using to place your paper up on? I hate tape, too, just doesn't work well. I love the pushpin idea. What are you using to catch the pastel dust? I've never seen that kind of a set up. I'm liking it. Nice painting too. Thank you for sharing this with us all.

Thanks for posting. This would have been better if you had spent more time looking at the paintings than the speaker. Best cast scenario, you would insert a photo for us to look at while he spoke about them.

I have watched this several times. The people constantly talking, and not giving Tony Allain full attention are missing out and shockingly rude. Having such a kind and gracious artist as Tony Allain in their presence, they should be respectful. He created another masterpiece in light of the rude audience. Happy for the video but the childish behavior of audience was distracting.
