If your into scaffolding or want to be a scaffolder here are some videos to have a look at. In the future if I get enough support I will be doing videos with voice record talking you through what I’m doing so you can follow my way.
Ps that’s if you like how I’m doing it 😁

درود بر شما برادر یک سوال داشتم فاصله ی بین پایه ها دو متر است؟
What do you mean mate? The base lift and the 2nd lift? If so it works out about 2.2, I do my handrail height 1.1 so the brick guard fits nicely, then I measure 1.1 of the handrail again for the lift height, if you get that mate, peace upon you too mate ❤️
I mean the distance between the standards Here we take the distance of standards 2:80 and the distance of transoms 1:20. How about you?
@ yeah our transoms are max 1.2m and the standards because it’s aluminium have to be shorter than steel, so I go 1.8m roughly 6ft or under 😁
@@ScaffManJones Do you use the same aluminum pipe for a higher height, for example, forty meters or higher? Because I think that for a height higher than twenty meters, only steel will last
Lovely to see someone can still do a splay properly, tidy lads, been taught right👍
Thank you brother, I have built 2 different ways on my channel, thank god you seen the better one haha nice one for watching and commenting mate ❤️
Thanks for your videos. I find them oddly relaxing. I work as an electrician but have reduced capacity to work due to my health at the moment. I'm self-employed on mostly small works so don't come across scaffolding very often. I seem to have started watching a few scaffolders on youtube for some reason! Sharky, JR from Ludlow and Stellar as well as you. I've got a couple of questions if you don't mind. Hope I've got the right terminology specific to this video: 1) the bit you started with only has one inside board, which looks like it's a pain for you to get the drill behind the inside standard. Is there just one board here because of lack of space on site? 2) @23:31 what is the purpose of the double transoms? 3) Scaffolders tools; is it basically a level, a tape measure and a spanner? then obviously the impact wrench to make life easier? Have seen labourers on some videos (from various people) borrowing their workmates levels/tapes/spanners and I can't work out why they don't have their own, or is it frowned upon for them to go near any fittings? 4) Do brickies ever try to get the mortar between the bricks or is part of their job on a newbuild site just to throw it all over your scaff?!? I guess you don't even notice it any more! Thanks, keep grafting!
Thank you for your support brother, and yeah mate, 1 inside board because I couldn’t get a 4 board run down there because of the ground I double transome the short fleets in case they pull back a little and become a trap end, And yeah we share a tape between us 😂, And yes mate brickies like to put more mortar on the scaff than the houses atm haha ❤️🤍
Hitting new brickwork with no caps on tubes 😂
😂 soon as it’s acid cleaned mate there ain’t a single mark on the wall
In the spirit of 'working smarter, not harder' it looks like some buckets or tubs could save the labourer from having to pick fittings out of the mud when you can't chuck them straight into a stillage!
Yeah I normally do brother but forgot the buckets so grabbed them after and just picked them up with him 😁
I really enjoy your videos mate, Im supposed to start scaffolding sometime in the near future and I would like to ask u how much experience do you think is enough for me to do the part 1 course? I know cisrs require 3 months but dont wanna wait this long.
Ahhh brother thank you very much, I appreciate your support❤️, you can start scaffolding with nothing mate, depending on if your working on a site then you will need a cscs card, but if your doing street work just labouring you won’t need anything, then you can do your apprenticeship while your working for a company to get your experience and some companies will put you through your courses, I did a fast track course, I needed 6 months experience then I went straight for my part 1 (2 week course)then after I was part 1, I waited 6 months again and I went for my part 2 (2week course again), pretty sure you can still do that mate, good luck in the future mate 🤍
@ I appreciate the time that you’ve put into explaining this to me man thanks so much, got yourself a new subscriber🫡
@@MickeySixx Thank you brother it’s honestly not a problem, if you need to know anything mate, comment on a video or email me and I’ll get back you soon as I can, again mate thank you for your support, much love ❤️
اینجا کدام شهر است؟
The site I work on is in Middlewich mate 😁
خوش آب و هوا 💙💙💚💚💙💙
عالی موفق باشی برادر❤❤❤
Thank you brother ❤️💛❤️
Why not just put a single stop end on instead of a double lol
Errrrm dunno mate 😁
The card is perfect as always, brother
😁
I’m guessing you own the company? How are jobs billed. Seems like very intense, as you have to stay ahead of masons or whoever, then tear down after them and keep the pace moving. Great work.
No mate I don’t own the company, and tbh it’s not a mega busy site either, it’s like 70 houses a year when I normally do 90-120 a year which you could imagine it’s a lot busier, also the way it gets billed is at the start of every site they have a certain number of houses, let’s say their is 10 different styles of houses, my boss will price them ten houses then times the price by how many of them types of houses are in the 400 house estate and he will get a full amount of the price on the site, then we hand them over and he ticks them of the list lol, so yeah he knows from day one how much he’s going to make on the whole site, then anything not on the price list is a extra job which he re-prices the extra work, Hopefully in the future I will own a business like this one, I’m begging for it 😂 Thank you for watching again mate and commenting ❤️
@@ScaffManJones Appreciate that reply. The upfront costs of equipment would be high. Hopefully the economy will come back now and you'll get all the business you can stand! Hope you channel grows as well. It's relaxing to watch you kick ass out there! Great job. Greetings from Kentucky.
@ your welcome, yes mate the equipment is expensive but you only have to lay it out once, then you use the same gear on the site untill the end, unless your doing more work than the gear you have, then you just add more equipment to the site 😁
We don't use meters and level to measure, we only build tall scaffolding up to 30 meters by eye and without having a plan, and this is a big disaster
Yeah mate that must be hard work without the right equipment and a plan 😊
Scaffolding pipes are very heavy here Each six-meter pipe is 25 kilograms
Yeah mate I use aluminium tube, but most company’s around here use Steel, yeah their quite heavy mate if your not use to them 😁
💙💚
سلام من اهل ایران هستم و یک داربست بند خوشحالم که کار شما رو میبینم من حدودا یک سال است که داربستبندی میکنم ولی در شرکتی که هیچ گونه استانداردی را رعایت نمیکند
Hello mate, nice to meet you, what type of scaffolding are you doing up your way? and yeah mate I went to turkey and seen how they were building over there, I’m pretty sure health and safety don’t exist over there 😂, stay safe up there mate it’s a dangerous job over here and that’s with a harness and handrail in place first lol, and health and safety are all over us on our sites so we have no choice but to do it right 😁, couldn’t imagine where there are no rules or health and safety involved brother so be careful 😁, also nice one for watching and commenting on my video mate I appreciate you ❤️🤍❤️🤍
Thank you ❤️🤍 and you brother
What’s the purpose for scaffolding in this section?
It’s to support the floor while the bricklayers build the wall above, (loading their bricks on the joists) 😁
Also known as propping
@ yes mate I call them props too 😁
Not a bad effort my only advice and it’s not a criticism and you will thank me for it down the line don’t start with reverse base out on multiple splays because the lap will sit up and cockle the boards your ledger on doubles always go on the inside your leger on laps goes on the backside {reverse baseout] so you alternate your ledgers your first square starts with leger on doubles on the inside your next square \splay ledger goes on the backside [reverse base out on laps and vice versa then all your handrail go on doubles and if it was a town job you’d make sure it got drilled on the splay sometime to board the splay bit your ledger on doubles on the inside might need sailing through a foot so you can fit a 35/37inch butt in between for it to board easier you might not make head nor tail of this but after you’ve built a few this way you ll understand I think your good enough to figure it out a lot won’t good luck this is old way of doing a splay my whole family are scaffs brothers\couisin ephews\uncle\grandad\great grand my dad taught me this way was a top hand 49ers sorry fo4 the long post goodluck
Yeah man I’m going to do it that way on the next one, like I said mate I don’t think your criticising at all, if you know a easier and better way I’m going to listen brother, if Mike Tyson is trying to tell you how to box then I think you should sit down and listen 😂, there’s a guy I met from London he’s a city scaff and he was showing me the way they build splays up their way and it looks 10x better than anyway I have ever built them but honestly I don’t know where to start how he was telling me , it was double legged on every corner of the splay and all the ledgers sat flush ( the same height)then ties the legs together with butts and drilled it in the wall too, but I just don’t get how the boards weren’t bouncing on the lap fleet when all the ledgers were flush, if you get that mate, also did you get a picture of the way you’ve been saying because I would like to see it tbh 😁
Limpets are a great fitting 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes mate they are decent, no leaning under the scaff anymore. 😁
@ I’ve seen ppl try undo them from underneath honestly
@ 😂 your joking
💪
😁❤️
Just found you're channel and subscribed. I really enjoyed watching this video, so now it's time to binge watch the rest of you're videos 😂 and keep up to date 🍿 thanks for the video man 😊
Aaahh mate your a legend thank you for your support brother I appreciate you honestly, 😁❤️ have a good night mate watch as many as you can haha
@ScaffManJones you're welcome, bro. You have a great weekend, man, and I'll sure watch as many as I can tonight. Haha, cheers again, man 😊❤️
Enjoying all this hard work from the comforts of home. Great job! Makita takes a beating! How long will she last? Is it you (main installer) and two prep guys?
Thank you 😁, yeah mate I run the site, normally there’s only 2 of us, but Iv not long got my nephew on with me (Jay Jay) to train him ready for his courses in the future, and the drill last about 6-9 month mate if your lucky haha thank you for watching and commenting brother I appreciate you 🤍❤️
Great stuff. Dude, you don’t stop. I don’t know much about the trade. I’ll be checking more of the vids.
Thank you mate I appreciate you for that 😁❤️
Construct or deconstruct ... what's your fave?
I prefer to construct/erect, but I don’t mind either 😁
😊😊😊😊
😊❤️🤍
I don’t mean to sound disrespectful mate I normally praise your work but that splay is so poor people who’ don’t have a clue normally do them on singles with aberdeens underneath all your board ends don’t line up and what’s the bits on inside with butts just made up as you go along learn to do them on doubles mate the proper way on a major construction site that would be a fail if I’d done that when I was younger the real scaffs would of made me take it down I’m no5 trying to be cleaver it’s the truth
Like I said brother when I do the big splay jobs on let’s say a 10 lift bank job I would 100 percent do it double double all the way or you could even double leg it and have all the ledgers flush which is a lot of work for one poxy little lift mate that’s going to be up for like 2 days and then stripped again, I could go to town on these jobs if really wanted to but it’s simple and the easiest of work, if you want me to Iv got another one of these tomorrow and I’ll build it with double double or I might even double leg the splayed corners and go to town onit 😁
Also mate, the inside underslings to take the weight of the inside boards have to be there or the inside boards would trap, idoesn’t matter if I go double double I would still have to undersling the insides to stop the boards trapping, if not, how are you installing a short but with no ledger there for the inside boards to sit on? (Honest question) ps. Bear in mind it’s a inside splay, if it was on the outside it wouldn’t need any underslings as no walls can get in the way of your boards 😊
@@ScaffManJones imagine a 50p build a tower use as an example 8ft tubes on outside and 6fts on the in put a standard at each end of the 6ft put a chalk mark opposite the standard then mark 9 inc to a foot on the other ledger then measure 37inc on the angle to make sure it’s right then put the next ledger on the backside on singles pretty flush then repeat if the splay was going the other way you would use 8fts on inside and 6fts on the in wish I could draw you a picture you would get it straight away saves building a million towers th3 use ing a million short boards to lap the angles it all interlocks
@@grahamparkin6634 brother honestly I will take on any advice anyone as got to give I swear, I love learning new ways and no one is perfect, it does sound complicated by the way your adding measurements together to get the angles of your splay when I literally temp 3 ledgers and I can see where my leg is going because the 2 ledgers meet, I could stick 2 doubles onit instead of singles and it would be pretty much the same as how you would do it just without messing around with measurements, and if I got the right size ledgers in the splay that’s on top I could get transoms a lot closer but I still like to undersling the insides to get the inside boards past the legs to take the weight of the boards on top, if it was a full 50p shape mate on the outside there would be no underslings at all because all the boards would lap over the insides far enough to not trap, I can also picture how you mean but the measurements couldn’t make the right angle of the splay without messing about with the legs after, or do you double leg the splay and have all the ledgers the same height?
@@ScaffManJones hard to explain with out showing you I’m going to take a picture of our job over the weekend to show you is there no old top hands on your firm to ask trust me it works well wouldn’t advise ittif not
This has got to be hard in bad weather! Can you carry on in the wet??
Yes mate, depends how heavy the rain is, if it’s bouncing down then we’ll do like half a day then when we’re soaked we’ll go home mate
Great work mate
Thank you brother 🤍
Why you cutting haki-scaffold demolition?
I removed the tables and the stairs mate, or the video would of been even longer, I dont like the videos being much over 1 hour mate, it would of been touching 2 hours long brother, I can keep them in if people are going to watch it that long lol 😁
Lookout below 😊😊
😊😊
cool vid bro, keep ut the grind!!
Thank you mate ❤️
On your plan braces you should have the doubles adjacent to each other, also what take is that ?
Why what’s the difference? And what do you mean what take is that??
Also I alternate the inside because it gets in the way of the legs I drop in after for the next lift
I wish you have talked a second at the beginning to say what is going on. Got no clue.
Im a couple of months in mate and don’t feel that level yet, and I’m getting there brother still learning RUclips and what people want to see then I’ll get to the communicating with people, takes time, eventually I’ll be doing tutorials on members only , when I get enough support that is 😁, I also thought about going back through and leaving it in the description for people 😁 thank you for watching and commenting though, I’ll take anyone’s advice mate so maybe I will soon as I feel like it’s the right time ❤️
Dude, for the first five minutes, I saw you walking around in the same place😂
😂😂
State of your spirit level
That’s long gone now mate that was like 57 videos ago mate
Hi scaffman
Hello 😁
This is my dad❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi scaaffman
Hello 😁
@@ScaffManJones hello
Absolutely hate theese jobs on the top soil specifically in the rain then its a splay just to make it that much more horrible 😂
😂 yeah mate weren’t too bad tbh brother 🤍
i have a makita impact driver as well and it is a beast, i don't rely on it as much as you but it is a weapon, obviously not brand specific
Yeah mate makita drills are decent brother, apparently dewalt are better though so might invest in one and give it ago mate 😁
love your videos
Thank you brother I appreciate you mate 🤍
Hi mate, enjoying the content keep it up! doing my COTS soon been labouring for about 6 months, what do you advise the best way to learn is?
Hello brother, truthfully mate get on the tools as much as you can (experience) you can watch for years and still learn nothing mate, main thing brother is measurements, if you can learn all your measurements brother you can’t go wrong, a tape never lies lol, and learn to follow drawings if your unsure, if you can read a drawing you can build anything, you on site work or street work mate??
@@ScaffManJones what a guy! thanks for all the info mate ill take it on board and apply it to my learning, ill get to learning those measurements and try to do as much as i can on the tools when possible. The company am working for mainly has site work. honestly its pretty widespread we have a mixture of jobs, currently working on a school, next week we are on site putting temp roofs on. Lots of different stuff going on. Again mate thanks for your help, ill keep watching the videos and take in as much as possible - keep doing your thing mate its spot on!
where do you put your level?
I stick it u see my left arm then when I put my drill back my level goes back too you just don’t see it lol
in the prison wallet
@@james-lm9kx haha I always wondered where you kept yours 😝 🤍
Wish I had a pound for every time I’ve seen measuring ledger to ledger go wrong on reverse base out should always be standard to standard just good practice neat and tidy as always though boys keep up the good work👍
Haha yeah mate they forget to take the 4 inches off when the ledger is on the opposite side of the legs lol and my ledgers are the same measurement as my legs are brother, thank you for your compliment mate I appreciate you honestly 🤍
Very good going getting a 3 plot done in that time wow
😊🤍
Scaff nonce back again with another little tip 😂. Just looking out for a brother and his back, if you've got a decent forky, when you strip your boards off whack them straight on top of your handrails on your loading bay, nice little pack of boards ready for your next job, saves you having to lie the bastards down when you get to the 2nd lift. Wey it will save your mates back anyways when you're shouting at him to hurry up and get them laid down 😂
Tidy job mukka, seen a lot of lads struggle with them, each to there own like but makes it a hell of a lot easier putting your splayed legs on doubles and whacking your ledgers on the back sides mate, saves you having to Aberdeen it aswell, only 2 tubes like but you're always looking for them for your deadman or handrail at the end 😂
Thank you mate and yeah man tbh brother they should all be double double anyway, because it was only one lift I did it the old way haha, if it was more than 1 lift brother I would of either gone double double on the legs or double leg it and have 3 separate towers linked up 😁, thank you for watching/commenting though mate I appreciate you 🤍
How's the site are you steady away every day
Yeah mate steady easy house bashing brother 😁
Congrats on 1k subs bro 🎉 👍
Thank you mate you’re a legend 🤍
God sites these days 😆 i'm glad i dont work on em. (Im a chippy by trade) now site manager but on refurb stuff. In the middle of 600k worth with a pretty tidy amount of scaffold, 450 beams all over the place due to there being unstable pavement vaults, 750 beams bridging and counterleavering over the roof site work would do my sweede.
I know mate it’s bad now init, was thinking of being a manager myself but seems hard work haha, does get to me mate now and again but it’s just easy work Monday to Friday, pays the bills, then I jump on the big jobs at weekend to break it up, tbh mate scaffolding is scaffolding it’s all the same to me, if you can read a drawing you can do anything, wouldn’t mind seeing a few pics of the work you do though email me some pics 😁 nice one for watching/commenting aswell brother I appreciate it, make sure you sub 😂
