How to replace your OBD2 plug on your BMW E90 E91 E92 E93
Просмотров 17 тыс.4 года назад
I broke the OBD2 plug on my car and needed to fix it before I could get the car inspected. I heard you'll fail inspection if it's broken (don't quote me on that). Skip to 3:25 if you just want to see how to get the wires out of the plug. Having the special terminal removal tool makes it easy which you can get at any parts store or Amazon. I was tired of the rock chips and doors dings so I took a week off and wrapped my car. This is literally the first video I shot for RUclips so please forgive the issues. I'll definitely work to improve the quality of future videos. The wrap is 3M Matte Blue Metallic. I spent hours watching videos from Ck Wraps and Premium Auto Styling so big thanks to those guys for the helpful videos. Drop a c...
How to remove BMW roof trim rails WITHOUT breaking the clips
Просмотров 37 тыс.4 года назад
Just a short video on how to remove the 2 roof trim pieces on BMWs such as the E90, E91, E92 and E93. Probably other BMW models as well. It seems quite common for people to break the clips that hold them on the roof so I found a method that avoids that. You can get the clips online for about half of what the dealership charges. Don't fall for FAKE Rubik's cube universal solution
Просмотров 49 тыс.5 лет назад
This video came about because I saw my brother-in-law trying to solve the Rubik's cube using a video he found on RUclips, which at the time didn't mention it was fake. We figured out it was fake and decided to make this video to play off the original prank. Unfortunately there is no universal solution. Please check the original video linked below for real solutions for solving the Rubik's cube....

TWS Track Day 5/13/2017

My first time at TWS. I was a bit nervous about the condition of the track since it looks like it's been neglected over the years. But it turned out to be fine. "Wheelie hill", as I was told it's called, was quite a shock the first time through. My first hot lap was a 2:23. This was my best lap of about 2:04.

Do O need to put glue on my floor.
Nope no glue
Great video by the way!
How have they held up? Any tire stains?
Does the rubber trim around the front and rear windows sit above the end of the trim or below it? Iam replacing my rubber trim
Great Job!!!! My M6 Gran Coupe thanks you and I do too. :-)
Thanks for posting my man. How is everything holding up? Looks good btw :)
You should do a 3 year update on these.. I am avoiding this material because some folks report color transfer to and from the tires. Your experience?
where can I find the ROOF MOULDING TRIM COVER LID I'm looking everywhere
THANKS A LOT!
Why didn't you move the tool box
I used locking hemostats to pull out the pins once I unlocked with the tool
Just the video I needed thank you
i call it a back sack rack
Did u had to disconnect the battery?
Yes I would disconnect the battery
so the wires come out of the old plug with the gold tabs that hold it on it…. I got a new socket today and wondered how the wires would fit it - thanks!
I know is an old thread but I just ordered the OEM carbon fiber rear spoiler for the X4 from a BMW dealer and I wanted to know if the spoiler comes with adhesive tape attached or I have to order an adhesive tape kit, BMW charges 200 USD for it. I will install the spoiler in the BMW dealer. Thank you.
I've seen some YT videos where people said there's came with tape but mine did not. I just applied it myself.
Thank you for this. About to install these.
3 years later-are you still happy with this floor? Do you have any issues with water from your car (from rain) going under the tiles and becoming trapped?
I realize this is an older post, but my car was purchased from an insurance company that had totalled it- a 07 328xi coupe with a 6speed manual transmission. The car became airborne at some point crashing down bending 3 wheels, all the struts and axles, and sidewall damage on all the tires. The struts came through the fenders when they let loose, and the rear subframe was bent. That said, all of the glass was good, the doors shut nicely and the subframe bolted in without any problems. It is all back together and drives straight down the road. What’s left to do is the roof became unbonded upon landing and has wrinkles in it. Seems to be aluminum(?) and the sunroof opens and closes with no issues. The desert heat is brutal on the roof, and filler probably isn’t an option. When removing the plastic strips, can you tell how the roof is held in place to the roof structure? It seems to be a fairly flimsy aluminum can-like thickness, and I haven’t yet tried to pull the headliner to see where I can get behind it, if I try to straighten it. I’ve looked at the carbon fiber roofs that are lightweight and they seem to be a great option, but they are teaching you how to use your perfect roof to make a mold- not possible for me- and I may not be able to buy one- we’ll see on that. Any hints from your travels on the roof structure? Thx -Steve
Good info, thanks for posting.
You should put your camera on the trunk lid. For better view
Thanks Chris! This really helped.
Great video. Do the grey tiles seem to leave tire tread marks ? I am thinking about just doing black tiles for that reason.
Not really tire marks, but just dirt and grime in general. They clean up ok, but in hindsight I would do all black.
Hey Chris, thanks for the video! Very informative. I’m going to use it to install my rear lip spoiler…thank you. Question for you - my F82 is wrapped and ceramic coated. Did you do anything special to the surface of the wrap to allow adhesion?
Sorry for the delay. I used the 3M adhesion promoter and so far it's held up great.
I can’t believe no one else has mentioned this, but he’s missing a piece of rubber trim around the rear glass. If that trim is there like it should be, this method is impossible without removing that whole rubber surround.
My car came like that and I suspect many others are missing that rubber as well since it was pretty dry and brittle around the rest of the window. But you still might be able to pop up the end enough to clear the rubber and then slide it out. Hopefully only breaking one clip at most.
Bmw themselves told me that each side has only 3 clips one yellow black and blue
Where could I find new clips I broke mine 😭😭
Part numbers are in the description. I've found the best prices at getbmwparts.com.
Nice vid 👌. Is the car wrapped ? What color is the wrap ? Looks like AY 👌
Thanks! It's an Avery wrap called energetic yellow.
How has it held up with snow and salt and ice
Thank you for making this. I got excited watching this, thinking same method will work on a G30. I then realized the trim on the G30 goes all the way to the bottom of the front windshield. That's a LOT of force to overcome by pulling. Great video though, very clear and very helpful!
did u figure out how to remove the roof rails on the g30?
great job, watched this before installing mine i got the same just all silver.
Did you know those M Performance parts are actually outsourced? I bought the same set for less than half what the dealer charges. Lol
Where?? Lol share the deets man!
Any links to those outsourced M Performance parts?
Wish I would have seen this last night at least my cost on parts was less than retail but still would have rather not broken any. Great video and to the point
Where did you buy the broken ones from. Can’t find them anywhere
@rykermorrell8628 I went to BMW
Looks like your daughter would have liked to help and spend time with you. Could have had her bring tiles to you. Future handywomen.
I tried it but doesn't work.😓
I feel sorry for having to scrabble around on the floor, makes the job difficult!…. I have an M4CS so purchased the same splitter using my CS chassis number & fitted it to my M4 comp cab, along with bigger brakes, rear defuser, mirror covers & boot spoiler all in carbon, looks great agains San Marino blue with ivory leather👌 Your M3 F80 looks stunning, look at some more carbon tho as both colours will work amazing together 👍
Amazing, worked like a charm…. Thanks
Hey Chris do you know where I can find the installation hardware and front upper adapter
Looks great! How's it hold up to the car jack? I have quick jack so more distributed weight but I use a jack and jack stands occasionally too. TIA
One more thing... Approximately how many yards or sq/ft of vinyl wrap did you require? Thanks!
I believe I ordered 60 feet, but I got lucky and didn't make too many mistakes so I had some left over. I ordered 55 feet for my other car and that was about right.
Great video! Great result! Could please comment on how this is holding up on your car? Also, just "ballpark" cost for tools and materials? I would appreciate it! Thanks, Larry
It held up pretty well, although I don't own that car anymore. My gold M3 has been wrapped since 2019 (3 years) and its great. There's a tiny of bit of rock damage, but you'd never know unless you get close. The wrap is biggest cost. At the time, I think it was about $600. The misc tools including the heat gun were another $60ish.
Chris, nice video. What is the finished size of each tile after install? Are they 20.5" X 20.5" or 20" X 20" because the interlocks are hidden after install. The website is not clear on this and 1/2" makes a big difference on the number of tiles needed for a larger install.
What color (Exactly) is your wrap? Looks extremely close to the Austin Yellow Metallic!!! (Where did you get this from)
Its Avery Satin Energetic Yellow. I got it from metrorestyling.com.
@@ChrisLiptan Thanks!
Bro could you please do me a favor if you still have that alignment piece and take a overhead picture with a ruler next to it so i can CAD design one, please? Thx also the stock C clips you replaced looked the same, were they different?
Looks great. What about hot tire tracks? Any damage? Thx.
Awesome video ! How is this doing with tire marks ? Especially on the grey tiles ? And have you tried removing tire marks ? Do they come out ? Thanks very much
No issues with tire marks. They do get dirty after a while so I give them a good wash and scrub about every 6 months or so. If I could do it again, I'd go all black.
Major seller of these tiles says some tires chemically react with the tiles (I guess, silicone in the rubber). Once this happens, the discoloration cannot be removed.
Is this mod reversible? I’m asking because I’m thinking of buying an M4 on a PCP plan
Yep, the only permanent "damage" are a few small holes under the bumper.
$1,400 for 140 tiles wow and i thought that the race deck tiles were expensive
140 tiles is about 409 sq ft. That's about $1600 for the cheapest race deck option. Both are pretty spendy though I'll admit.
Great vid !!! Looks great !! Love the bike too !
Did you install a beveled edging at the garage entry? Hard to tell from the video and doesn’t look like they sell nitro flex beveled edging.
No I didn't really need to add anything to my entry. These tiles are pretty thin, so if you don't have any issues getting into your garage now, you shouldn't after you install these.
