Coffee Roasting in a Fluid Bed Roaster
This video shows the roasting process of coffee in a Sivetz Fluid Bed Coffee Roaster. Special thanks to Tim from Coffee Mess for allowing me to film the roast! You can visit the Coffee Mess in Hilliard, OH @ 4543 Scioto Darby Road. They are inside the Little Donut Factory. I suggest the “Da Moon” roast. What loquid was dumped? Water? Id assume that it would soak into the coffee and ruin it?

    How quick does second crack happen?

    @whoami724y 3 года назад

    the first crack seems to happen faster on hot air roasters when compared to traditional drum roasters that usually happen around 8 minute mark huh

      Ya, we average just over 6 minutes per roast for an approximate 8 lb roast. With the fluid be roaster, the beans are constantly moving with the hot air flowing through them evenly.

    why you pour some water? at the end of roasting?

      To stop the beans from getting any hotter than the desired temperature we want. It helps us achieve the desired roast profile we are looking for.

    I would love to see your cooling process.

      The tray the beans are dumped into at the end of the roasting is where the cooling happens. There are two large CPU fans that blow air through the beans and cool them down rather quickly. Sorry it took so long to answer this, but just now saw it.
