That's a very good point about the lack of inclusion of high LDL-C participants in a randomized trial. What I would like to know is whether or not LDL-C or LDL-P are inherently dangerous. I would like to know if high LDL-C or LDL-P has ever been studied in a way that controlled for endothelial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and inflammation? Assuming a healthy endothelium, low inflammatory markers like CRP or Lp-PLA2, and low oxidative stress, does a high LDL-C or LDL-P actually confer a risk to the patient in and of itself? Or is it only a risk in the context of other variables?
