Couple ideas that could shave off some more thickness, though you probably thought about them already... Anyway, you could us a metal ring to mount the LEDs on so you can curve the pliable portions on either side of the strips to reduce that portion but about 40%. You could also remove the charging circuitry and make a dedicated charging platform (I would make the charging ports a unique and dedicated shape/type so that no one tries to plug it into a different charger and starts a fire in your home). Also you could add a couple micro switches so that they turn on when weight is placed on them (I'd run 2 in series so they only turn on if a glass is placed on them evenly). You could also use a mylar sheet for the bottom mirror (though it wont be ass good, and more fragile) to reduce a little more thickness. You could even try putting the battery in the same compartment as the mirror with the mylar over the top of it so the bump adds different lighting effects (results for this will either look really Great, or Reeeally bad... only one way to find out though). If ya like any of these feel free to have them (they aren't really that difficult of ideas and you have probably considered all of them before anyway), all of them together could reduce the size to 1CM.
