I probably tensioned the blade too much, and ran the belt off the wheels. The machine immediately stopped (good) but now i can't press the stop or start buttons. Does anyone know how to re-set it after this fault? i have googled and seen other people with the same issue
hello there, you can adjust only the upper guide using the 3 upper screws, you don't need to touch the down screws The teeth have to be a little bit outside the rubber, if you make the tension, as you say, you going to ruin the teeth and rubber aswell Last thing, for curved cut, the guard has to stay up, to permeit more flexibility for the blade... you have a good explanation, but wrong concepts. greetings

@@orce_MKD practice makes perfect. And it's always good to have somebody on hand that knows what they're doing. I'm a welder of 45 years. And I'd rather see somebody go to a welding school instead of college. Welding jobs are all over the world. The college class you took may not be needed by the world. 😎 And get a good welding hood.

Good repair. Good for in emergencies. I'm still little bit worried about wear and tear. So a new belt is then still recommended. 👍

Very nice video. 👍 I replaced my first BAS 261 because it had many scratches, and second even doesn't start, but I can turn the light in it, so...
Thanks for finding this video and my channel. I also have some problems with BAS 261. I solved few of them and made another short video. You can see it on my channel. I get new problem every time I turn on this machine, but slowly I start to understand how it really works.
I will try to make new video for repairing saw belt, new METABO 6mm belt broke after 30 minutes of work. :( Have a nice day.
