This is really incorrect advice pal. Just claim the workshop, build a generator, connect it to the fusion core generator. You'll get 3 every 7 minutes that you own the workshop. You do not need to complete the event. Just claim the workshop. You are asking people to do a pretty long event completely unnecessarily for the difference between building your own generator or not.

Btw you don't need to fix the power station, just cancel the event

You can also buy them from other players as lots of people sell fusion cores

Easier to craft 1 gatling laser and use it on the "boss" on Special Ops. You'll always be rewarded with 1-3 fully charged fusion cores that way. The same goes for expeditions, but you don't even need to use the weapon and waste the juice. Simply just have it equipped in your hand when you're back at the helipad and ready to departure from Atlantic City.

Fallout 76 sometimes has free Fallout 1st things for like a weekend that lets you use the scrap box, stock up while you can because you can't add stuff to it without 1st, you can use stuff from it without it.

Or just craft laser gatlings, wich will give you its ammo when crafted.

the big bends, watoga's 3 PAs and 1 reactor, mcintock, wv lumber(the nw corner radical camp), and the new BH camp near 76 have ammo crates, low chance to spawn any core type, but free and often full(full plasma atleast, i dont farm fusions anymore, so cant remember fusion %s), can be done approximately daily:/.

Then there's level 6. Those guys got the fusion core charger and a set of 20 to 40 cores to use and recharge for both weapons and the armor.

They have fusion cores nornally but people will farm them and then charge them. Alternatively a player can play a private session, grab all 3 power plant workshops and farm 9 fusion cores an hour. All without risk of PVP.

They wouldn't leave me alone lol
