01/05/2019 @approx 1:30pm est. Hood was open. Attempting to replicate and capture RPM fluctuation and engine rough running that I experienced on 01/03/2019, in which engine rpms fluctuated between 400-1000 rpm during idle with no warning lights appearing. Rough running evened out and was able to drive with no running problems. Significant fluctuation and rough running not captured in this video...

Continuation of video 1. Engine shut off for approx 10 seconds and restarted. No significant change in running.
You are a lifesaver! I bought an off brand cartridge and my mfc-L2710DW won't recognize it. Switching the chipps between the old original cartridge and the new one did the trick. Thanks!
It didn’t help with my issue, I have the proper cartridge but it’s telling in to replace due to low toner, I haven’t used it to say it’s low. I’d like you to share how to save money by refilling it ourselves, and what and where to buy toner… thanks, from Canada 🇨🇦
no chip on mine - must be an old one it takes TN 630 & TN 660 cartridges
Worked like a charm. I owe you a beer:)
Worked like a charm! 🙏🏽
I was so afraid to do it with my both left hands and finger. but i just took a small screwdriver and did it. thanks! it save me a lot of money!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I checked this and realized the new cartridge (generic) didn't even come with a chip. I took the chip from the old generic cartridge and put it on the new one, and BOOM. It worked perfectly. Thank you so much for this!
Thank you so much! I tried it and it worked a treat! Much appreciated! 😊
You are a life safer. Thank you so much.
I'm having an issue with a chip that was previously working (tn760). I removed the battery hoping to reset the ink level, and upon putting the battery back, the chip now does not work (no toner detected error). Was hoping that removing the battery would reset the ink level but now the chip seems dead. If anyone could help, please reply.
Sorry but I think you’ll just have to end up buying a new brother cartridge so you have a good chip for future swap outs. I see other people on here saying some 3rd party chips work but no one specified branding
Thank you! This worked for me. I had two off brand cartridges of the same brand. For some reason, the printer did not want to detect the new cartridge. I contacted Brother, and they told me I had to buy their brand to resolve the problem.
Thanks bunches! Just did this, saved me a toner cartridge! The weird thing was, the *old* cartridge was a generic, and the new cartridge was the second one from the same box-- I had bought a box of four together over a year ago. But even though the first one from that box worked fine, the second one from the same box would not recognize. Swapped the chips, now it works. Sweet.
You averted such a drama! I thank you so much. I easily used screw method. But my friend bought generic for same printer and had no problem. I shall get that brand but this time not in bulk!
Just the video i was looking for, thx
Worked for me. Was deceptively easy. Thanks pal.
Brandon, Thanks! this worked great on my HL-L2350DW. The original chip was glued in place, so it took a little care to work the glue loose. The new cartridge used a slot with a couple of springy retainer tabs, similar to yours. It slid right out and the original slid right in. It was a breeze and I'm back in business. Great video and explanation !!
Worked...TU
Just tried this for my BR-TN-227BK 3rd party ink. Printer would not recognize the new cartridge so I swapped out the chip and it works. The chip is not exactly the same size so I had to rig it up and the chip is not very secure but I hope the printer pins keep it in place. I may add some hot glue to the back of the chip to keep it attached to the cartridge securely.
Thank you. Switched chips and now it works fine. Got a "no toner" signal tried every fix. Nothing else worked. You saved the day!
Thank you, nothing was working. With this solution and after 30 seconds of work now the toner works perfectly!!!
Between the third party cartridges some chips seem to not work as well. I swapped the working third party cartridge with another, worked great. And as the pinned comment says, use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the whole assembly (3 screws) so you won't have to break anything.
Thank you. this action worked for me!
Hey, thank you!!! I have MFC L27100W. All of a sudden, it started showing Inc Cartridge Not Detected. We had not even changed the cartridge. It went from printing normally to not printing. I had a new cartridge, opened that and tried it. Nothing. Luckily, I had also saved an older empty cartridge from a couple of yeara ago. After watching your video, I thought let me try this out. I pushed the chip out from the old empty cartridge. All I had to do was push the chip outward with a small screw driver and it came out. I was able to easily place it in the cartridge that had stopped printing. It worked like magic. Didn't even have to restart. Thank you!!!! Saved me a lot of pain and money!!!
Mam sir tag Ang cartridge A17
I replaced the chip on generic tonner (from working generic to the one which was not working) and It worked ! Thanks a lot !!
Thank you so much. This helps. I, too, bought the Arthur cartridge with my Brother printer and needed to change toner a year later.
worked amazing! screw brothers anti consumer bs. i did exactly the same thing as you, purchased as a combo on amazon, and the low toner warning was going off at least a few hundred times before it actually ran out and i just went through all of the troubleshooting steps you said you di to no avail. this worked instantly.
This worked perfect! I had tried everything else. Thank you!
a lot easier is remove the philips screw, remove new chip holder, replace with old chip plastic holder, and replace screw. Works great.
a lot easier if you use older type of brother laser printing which does not use chips
Works great! Thank you so much!!
You are a genius!! I feel like I beat them at their own game!
If I understand what you’re saying, the chip from the starter cartridges can be reused more than once on non OEM cartridges?
Correct. I’ve re-used it 3 times so far.
@@brandonsheaffer5035 But what if you do not have the starter cartridge? I have used my printer for over 2 years. Always buy non-OEM toners - they work fine - except this time when after a few weeks the printer suddenly could not detect the toner! I suppose I will need to order a new toner...
@@sam3601 re use the non OEM chip that has worked previously
@@brandonsheaffer5035 I recycled the old one - will have to buy a new one. Thanks again for your help!
Thanks!
Omg! I was so stressed out about this, thinking that I’d wasted money on this printer and the new cartridge and not looking for ward to all the pull-apart methods on RUclips. I watched your video and was completely sceptical and concerned that I was going to ruin a brand new toner cartridge. Still I listened to your instructions and gave it a go - what else could I do? I am blown away and completely grateful for your genius and shockingly quick solution to an otherwise expensive issue. Thank you so much 😊
Hello, many thanks, so helpfull, i used another generic toner set brand and it works like a charm ;) This is definitily the best solution. My toner set is high capacity, while the original brother toners are standard capacity and there is no problem. It is working fine
Glad to hear. Been working fine for me since the first time I swapped the chip, as well. I was worried that the chip may stop functioning properly after being removed and replaced several times, but I’ve had no issues.
It worked beautifully. Thank you!
That worked,. I was also frustrated, tied others suggestions.
WORKS GREAT
Your solution has crossed my mind. My reservation is that Im taking the chip from a standard cart and putting it on a high capacity 3rd party cart. Regardless I'll try this later. Thanks for the vid.
