@ Todd Wright can you explain Acts 2:38 to me? Are people supposed to me baptized under Father , Son, and Holy Ghost or under Jesus Christ name?

_"I've never seen a president cry until April of 2008"_ He _should_ have cried, because that was all his fault. George W. Bush invaded a completely innocent country which had done nothing to _us._ Saddam Hussein was not a nice guy, but we attacked _him._ He didn't attack _us._ Killing hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis - and so many of our own soldiers, too - was an evil that Bush did for no good reason. But it _did_ get him re-elected, huh? And nothing else - *nothing else* - seems to matter to Republican politicians these days. "Mission Accomplished," right? <LOL> Obviously, this takes nothing away from Michael Monsour's bravery. Our troops should never have been there, but that's often been the case throughout American history. A president using their lives for his own political advantage - or for some other equally idiotic and/or evil reason - is a possibility our troops just must accept when they become soldiers. But the rest of us shouldn't accept that! And we should never forget it when it happens. And what does any of this have to do with atheism? _"I actually think that it's quite easy to show that Christianity is true."_ But _only_ to people who are already Christian - almost always because that's what they were taught to believe as a child - and who really, really _want_ it to be true, huh? As far as I can tell, everyone else easily sees through Frank Turek's emotional manipulation. But we'll see... [Spoiler Alert: He never actually gets to anything. The whole thing is nothing but emotional manipulation and flat-out lies.] _"Does truth exist? Why is that important?"_ As far as I can tell, it's important only because Turek has nothing, and he _knows_ he has nothing, so even _Christians_ might not buy his nonsense unless he strawmans nonbelievers. The fact is, we say that claims are "true" when they seem to match up to reality to whatever degree of precision we require. When that happens, we call that the "truth." All the rest of that nonsense is just Frank Turek trying to buffalo you with nonsense while strawmanning people who disagree with him. _"If there's no truth, atheism can't be true, either."_ More nonsense from Turek. Of course, we don't claim there is no truth, but we don't claim _anything._ Atheism isn't a claim. It's not something to which "true or false" applies _at all._ It's basically just a description. If you don't believe in a god or gods, you're an atheist. Period. You can believe anything else - literally *anything* - and still be an atheist as long as you don't believe in a god or gods. It's not a belief system, and it's not a worldview. It's just a matter of not believing the claims of theists like Turek (and the theists who contradict him with their _own_ claims, either). _"I hope to show you tonight through three arguments that God exists."_ But not even *one* piece of good evidence? Why not? After all, evidence is how we distinguish reality from delusion and wishful-thinking. Turek can make all of the arguments he likes, but philosophers - the experts when it comes to logical arguments - are far _less_ likely to believe in a god than people who know little or nothing about such things. Just check out the PhilPapers survey of philosophers, for example. And what does it tell you when the people who know the _most_ about what you're claiming are the _least_ likely to agree with you? Turek can convince the ignorant, sure - but even then he can only convince the ignorant who _already_ believe this stuff and really, really want to _keep_ believing it. Well, Muslim apologists are exactly the same. Anyway, I'm going to skip the rest of this vague introductory stuff in the hope that he'll eventually get to something specific. [Another Spoiler Alert: He never does. He never gets to anything at all.] _"In fact, James, the half-brother of Jesus, who wrote that little book in the Bible called..."_ OK, we're half-way through, and Turek hasn't gotten to anything at all, so far. But I thought this was funny. He didn't actually end this sentence, maybe because he didn't want someone to point out his unsupported claim here? In reality, no one knows who wrote the Epistle of James. The author calls himself "James," and that might be true or it might not. But "James" was an extremely common name back then. Christians _want_ the author to have been the brother of Jesus, that's all. Of course, it was written in well-educated Greek, not the Aramaic that Jesus would have spoken. _"God just doesn't care whether you believe that he exists"_ Great! Because I _don't_ believe that he exists. No problem, then? _"They claim it's true because there is no truth"_ Heh, heh. We are 33 minutes into his talk - more than three quarters of the way through - and Turek _still_ hasn't gotten to anything yet. He's _still_ harping on his silly "there is no truth" strawman. Are there people who say that? Maybe. Probably, even. After all, there are eight billion people in the world! So I'm sure you can find _someone_ who'll say almost anything you want. But it's still just a strawman. And why has Turek wasted so much time on nonsense like this, instead of getting to the point? Remember, the point is _supposed_ to be "I don't have enough faith to be an atheist." And early in the video, he claimed that it was easy to demonstrate that Christianity is true. Well, when is he actually going to get to that? [Spoiler Alert: He never does.] Is he hoping you'll forget that he promised that? _"Many people on college campuses think that there's no moral difficulty with Hamas coming across the border and murdering innocent women and children"_ Wow! So Turek is not just willing to lie about us atheists, he's willing to lie about _anyone,_ if he thinks that lie will appeal to his audience? Yeah, you Christians sure are moral, huh? After all, you only lie when you _want_ to lie. <LOL> That is *not* what the kids protesting at colleges are saying. Wow, I knew that Frank Turek was disgusting. I guess I just never realized _how_ disgusting. And you guys are OK with that? Well, _of course_ you are, as long as he keeps telling you what you really, really want to hear, huh? (No, not all of you. I hope that some of you are just as disgusted as his lie as I am. But Turek is saying this for a _reason._ He knows his audience, and he's trying to sell books to you. Clearly, he thinks that this lie is what you want to hear.) ... And that's it. As far as I can tell, he never _did_ get to anything. All of that was a lie, I guess. What a great model for Christians, huh? <LOL> After all, he claimed that it was easy to demonstrate that Christianity is true. Of course, he didn't even _try_ to demonstrate that Christianity is true. Must have been too easy for the great Frank Turek, right? Heh, heh. Then he claimed that he was going to demonstrate three arguments that God actually exists. But he never did, right? I read the transcript, rather than listening to him talk. (I've listened to his spiel far too many times before!) But he never even _tried_ to demonstrate that his god is real, rather than just imaginary. Maybe he showed a picture or something? Well, going by all of his other lies (including that absolutely _disgusting_ lie about college kids), I suspect that he was just lying about that, too. And then there's the title of the video. He never got to _any_ of that. But then, he's just trying to sell books to Christians, huh? That's simply the title of his book, and he's trying to make money - _more_ money - from you guys. So that was just publicity? He didn't actually _mean_ it? He wasn't actually going to say anything to demonstrate that his claim is actually true? Well, his typical audience doesn't care about any of that, I suppose. They're Christian because they were taught Christianity as children, and they really, really _want_ it to be true. So I suppose it doesn't actually _matter_ what Turek says, as long as he assures them that believing that stuff is far better than listening to us smarty-pants atheists, huh? :) If he was Muslim or Hindu or any _other_ religion, you might question his claims. You might even ask him for evidence. But not when it comes to the religion you _want_ to be true, huh? You just want to be comforted by his lies? Yeah, that's not fair. You are all individuals, after all. And _some_ of you care enough about the truth of your beliefs that you might even become atheists, eventually. That's where we atheists tend to come from, after all. Here in America, we almost always come from Christians. (Personally, I didn't know a single other person who _wasn't_ a Christian all the time I grew up, as far as I could tell. All of my family and friends were Christian. Many still are. I just cared about the _truth_ of my beliefs, that's all. Most people just seem to want to believe whatever they _want_ to be true.) And Frank Turek - along with the Christian Taliban which is busy destroying America's democracy - is helping with creating new atheists. Not _all_ Christian apologists are that bad, admittedly. But I have yet to find any with even *one* piece of good evidence backing up their religious beliefs.

September 18 Rosh Hoshana aka feast of trumpets. September 19 UN SDG summit to strengthen agenda 2030. We have a last trump immediately followed by a 7 year covenant with many. I heard you on the radio talking about life is all about the journey and not the destination. This looks like the destination. Even if it is not the last trump and the 7 year covenant with many it surely is worth a mention on the radio, and the pulpit. I can’t recall the last 7 year covenant with many that occurred in world history but the simple math is 2030- 2023 is 7. Jesus said to watch or you will not know what day He is coming. If you’re watching you see the bad guy’s taking over the world as Bible prophecy is playing out like a script and now we have the feast of trumpets with a last trump followed by a 7 year covenant with many and you are the man West Georgia and East Alabama listens to. Time to drop the horse racing jokes and talk about the Bible prophecy happening right in front of our faces. People are leaving their left behind letters. Hand scanning to pay bills. Earthquakes are off the charts. Wildfires are off the charts. The journey is almost over and the destination is in sight.
