Catfish seen while SCUBA diving in Millerton Lake, December 28, 2018.
I finally spotted a large catfish while diving. Although I see lots of bass and sunfish, it is quite rare to see catfish while diving in central California lakes. I suspect they are seen rarely because they may sense us coming and swim away before we can see them. I have seem large silt clouds on many occasions, but I typically I do not see the fish that caused them. In deeper water they may hide in the the deep silt...not sure.

This is the total eclipse as recorded from Sweet Virginia's Bed and Breakfast, Metolius, OR, August 2017. This fantastic eclipse trip was organized by Dr. Fred Ringwald (Astrophysics, CSU, Fresno). We had a great time. These images were taken by both me and Dr. Ringwald.

First Night with Alcor EUDA All-Sky Camera 6/25/17-6/26/17

Here is a video of the first night with our new Alcor EUDA high resolution all-sky camera. It has a cooled CCD with a filter wheel and focuser, all in a weatherproof housing. At the beginning of the video we are tweaking the software and focusing, but it becomes quite nice during the second half of the night. Before morning, you even can see Andromeda rise.

Dr. Helm saved my life, one month later he was gone. I wish I could thank him what he did for me! RIP to a great ❤
Getting the word out that Melvin went out on a solo dive Friday Christmas eve and did not return, his body was recovered today. I have worked at millerton lake for 17 years and spoke with Melvin many times and he was always a cool guy to talk to. Rest easy Mel.
Does anyone know what went wrong during his dive?

Heard alots of story about the giant catfish name big Joe in millerton lake
DNF Pro I seen a video of someone in millerton lake recording with some drone over the waters, 4 years ago it showed a big figure swimming in the water, to big to be a fish once it got close the figure went deeper in the water and took off

Go diving near the dam and see if that large catfish really does exist and post the video!
Lol do not do that. I heard there was a huge catfish since 1920. They probably have a family of 500 pound plus catfish, just roaming Miller town
I’ve heard about that story also I heard the divers thought they were at the bottom of the lake but we’re on a huge hat fish

MOD violation on air?
REC mode with MOD set to 130
FO2 of .32 and ppO2 of 1.6? Either way, unless they were using nitrox they didn't exceed their MOD. If they used 32% then they were riding the line and with 36% they definitely exceeded them...
@@Anonymous-xd7bt you can clearly see the computer is on air mode, and it has a MOD violation text for 130ft.
@@Teampegleg Sure, but that depends to what they set their computers... There is always some safety margin for exactly these situations, and I assume that they did not violate their MOD anymore while standing as they were only 4ft beyond it. Again I do not think it’s good behavior but it was not immediately dangerous. Edit: Ah I didn’t even see that is as set to air... in that case they had absolutely no issue. Even with a ppo2 of 1.2 that allows for an MOD of 156 feet.
