Reggies Plot 39a Allotment September Tour
A dubious plan ?
Why does it say 2025!?
It did say 2025 by mistake I changed it back to 2024
Lets hope that secures them. They look like handy little structures those mini tunnels 👍
So do I otherwise back to the drawing board to think a new way
Sweet corn looks good👍. I've tried growing it in my veg garden but they didn't come to much, I'm too far north I think.
@@hare-belle143 i am not sure weather further north you can grow sweetcorn but their might be one you can get. I bought them already partly grown but was late putting them in. So next season growing to grow from seed. Thanks for your message
@@hare-belle143 I just did a quick check about growing sweetcorn in Scotland if you are that far north and Beechgrove Garden to show recommended growing it in a polytunnel or I would also say a greenhouse might work, or maybe if you had a leanto on the house you would have to self fertilise the plants but that might work. Hope this helps
NoDig for the Win.
@@SimonNoDigNeale thanks for your comment, I do a no dig allotment but due to panning on my plot had to dig over each bed this season any that have winter veg in will dig before start of main growing season next year. Hopefully that will solve it.
👌❤️
@@jujun6465 thank you 🙏
my seeds were delivered a few weeks ago. Looking forward to the new growing season. Definitely grow your tomatoes from see- they are so easy and rewarding. I grow up to 10 different varieties of tomatoes, usually 5-7 favourites and a few new varieties, (to me). I usually grow Passandra cucumber but the next season I am going to grow Mini Munch too. Ice the stalk goes brown it is ripened and will store. My Winter Vailan lettuce didn't germinate either, but my Winter Density did. Weird!
@@bewoodford2807 I think I might give it a go and grow tomatoes from seed 🌱
Hi, I have just discovered your channel and am now a new subscriber. Great video. Where do you buy your frames and overs from please? They look great! Thanks for a very informative video. Happy gardening 🙂
Hi here is the link to Amazon I am not affiliated with them, but remember that the instructions are wrong you want the longer poles as sides and shorter ones as top i think from memory it is items 2 and 3 swap there places round thanks amzn.eu/iKmN5c3 Hope this helps
2025? Don't you mean 2024?
@@KarenL810 you are absolutely correct opps I have corrected the date on the title. Thanks for pointing this out.
@@reggiesplot39aallotment I was hoping you had a time machine, and you'd start the video by saying Trump was in jail, there was peace in the Middle East, and Ukraine had beaten Russia. Lol.
@@KarenL810 unless all these thing happened on an allotment would not cover it 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Reg very interesting!
@@johnbartley3563 thank you 🙏
I need an allotment im in Hartcliffe Bristol..how do i go about this .im a novice..any help would be appreciated.Thanks.
@@PeteRed-ig3fp hello and thank you for your message, ok a quick response to your question about getting an allotment, if you contact the council they will have a list of all allotments and can put you on a list to get one. But I think you may find they are very long in the Bristol area, their is a company called Roots Allotment they rent out allotment spaces here is a link to the website www.rootsallotments.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAoTq2n_OoNKCERvlRbyKDbtiDQTNF&gclid=CjwKCAjw0t63BhAUEiwA5xP54fnna9e4Tn2s4aFQ5V_gGsT9B4UMKOtoYWnSCaXnZGCLH5B91ib3ZhoCMp8QAvD_BwE I did a audio podcast before I went to video on the history of allotments and how to apply in more detail here is the link ruclips.net/video/xDt0paNq9Jg/видео.htmlsi=Yrx91I7bVPTP1a5W good luck and let me know how you get on. Thanks 🙏
Hello, What Seeds have you ordered for next season ? Or are you planning to grow something different?
Really enjoyed this thank you 😊
Thank you, I am pleased will you be able to join me live next Friday or do you prefer to watch the video afterwards thanks 🙏
I’m not good at listening to live videos as life gets in the way so I always catch up at night when I go to bed
@@karenclarke366 that’s great thanks 🙏
I didn't know there would be so much allotment news all in one week! Great idea to have a round up like this. Cheers Reg 👏
Thanks I am glad you like it, in case you can not get to watch live on RUclips I convert it to audio and upload it as an audio podcast if that is useful for you.
Hi Reg, I have probably watched all the Allotment videos on here, I have only had my Allotment for three months so have a lot to learn. Me personally I get fed up when someone has their face right in the camera and talks and talks and talks about nothing much. I like to see their allotments what they are doing and what they have done, what they are harvesting and also planting that month I need to learn about soil and what plants like what soil and how to do it eg. Acid soil plants. I have a problem at the moment I want a longish Archway to grow beans, peas, marrows etc up but everything I look at is expensive so could do with ideas, love your shows by the way.
@@MemeMemecrook thank you for such a wonderful message, what length of an archway do you want to build. But if you have to have something solid as these veg especially marrows get a lot of weight on them and then you have to account for the wind. How acid is your soil you are looking for soil around 5 to 7 on the PH scale to grow a wide range of veg of course adding compost of any kind is good for the soil. Depending on what response I get to this video, I will be doing more videos but once we get to next season I will probably do more on planting, seedlings etc
❤❤❤❤
Hi really enjoying your vids ❤wanted to ask you if you know the best ingredients to make homemade weedkiller plz
Hi I am glad you are liking the videos, but in regard to weed killer sorry never looked into making my own. Sorry 😔
@@susanmurrell8288 hello I found this on the internet from Gardeners World hope this helps www.gardenersworld.com/how-to/grow-plants/organic-weedkillers/ good luck
Hi great video how do you get rid of these❤
You will never get rid of them completely but I use nematodes which are a natural predator of slugs you can buy them online and you just use a watering can to put them around.
Brilliant information ty❤

💯 yes!
Brrrr never mind the veg, that's too cold for me! @plot9b 🥶
@@sherararara I do not mind the cooler weather it is the heat that effects me more, and the humidity is my biggest enemy. Hope you are enjoying my videos and podcasts.

Good intro Reggie
@@jasonwil thank you much appreciated, did you enjoy the podcast. Do you have an allotment have you subscribed.
@@reggiesplot39aallotment no I’m just a backyard gardener. I prefer listening via RUclips
@@jasonwilthat is great do you grow veg in the back garden. So me doing just audio on RUclips is ok with you. I will be doing a video podcast on the first of each month but you could just as easy have it on in the background 😊
I started some buttercrunch the other week, heard its a fan favorite 👍
I have a neighbour on the allotment who has grown them and he kindly gave me one it was lovely
