@@hare-belle143 i am not sure weather further north you can grow sweetcorn but their might be one you can get. I bought them already partly grown but was late putting them in. So next season growing to grow from seed. Thanks for your message

@@hare-belle143 I just did a quick check about growing sweetcorn in Scotland if you are that far north and Beechgrove Garden to show recommended growing it in a polytunnel or I would also say a greenhouse might work, or maybe if you had a leanto on the house you would have to self fertilise the plants but that might work. @@SimonNoDigNeale thanks for your comment, I do a no dig allotment but due to panning on my plot had to dig over each bed this season any that have winter veg in will dig before start of main growing season next year. Hopefully that will solve it.

But if you have to have something solid as these veg especially marrows get a lot of weight on them and then you have to account for the wind. How acid is your soil you are looking for soil around 5 to 7 on the PH scale to grow a wide range of veg of course adding compost of any kind is good for the soil. Depending on what response I get to this video, I will be doing more videos but once we get to next season I will probably do more on planting, seedlings etc

You will never get rid of them completely but I use nematodes which are a natural predator of slugs you can buy them online and you just use a watering can to put them around.

I have a neighbour on the allotment who has grown them and he kindly gave me one it was lovely
