@@jerjerskin I am not sure on what hardtop I actually have to be honest (I don’t think it is fiberglass) . For the weight, I haven’t actually weighed it fully loaded but I have had; 2 medium/large suitcases, 2 smaller bags, a socket tool box/set and probably another 10/15kg in miscellaneous stuff tucked in the gaps without a problem so far 🤞🏻

@KMBuilds I agree I just noticed you have set your sub from bang on with the rear of the chassis perfect in a ideal world but In the past I have had it were the front wheel assembly's haven't been fitted with the same accuracy from factory so there for the wheelbase will be different from one side to the other. then the vehicle will crab sometimes you have to find a happy medium because it's the wheelbase that's most important as long as both side measure the same your sound with the reast I'm not telling you how to do it lads I was just wondering if you thought it was worth a check 😀 you also might like my westfield kit car build

@@ShavenYak. it seems a fairly straight forward swap. So far everything is going okay 🤞🏻. The front end it a bit more difficult though. It would take a lot of work to get the mx5 subframe in the front too. We will be attacking the front in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that 👌🏻

@@kreynolds8845 I believe they have produced the same Touran since the early 2000s. The caddy I removed these seats from was a 2008. If you are lucky then you can find tourans with leather seats too

@@KMBuilds Sure, have you listened to the audio on RUclips? At the start of the video, the audio is the worst. It is breaking up and full of static. It does so again several times during the video. It sounds like an internal break in the wire between the mic and the transmitter. This isn't the first video that I've noticed this happening. I hope this helps.

Hey Ben, the mirrors were from AliExpress. They are for an ek Honda Civic if I remember correctly

@@brunobrauer6301 hi Bruno, not many people know that the standard engine in a kei truck is basically a bike engine. But we are putting in a Honda fireblade engine which is a lot more power. So it just made most sense to title this the way we have as it is the start of the journey of the engine swap

@@iamyourfuture808 yes there are. You remove a panel in the back of the van. This is shown in part 1 so it may be worth checking that video out and it will be more clear

@@StratoOfficial Hey Strato, the bumper on the caddy is the standard bumper. I think it is part of the highline spec that they came with colour matched bumpers etc. We hope this helps you!

@@KMBuilds Yes please duplicate the mono right audio so it's stereo on both channels. Not sure what you're using to edit with but it should be easy to do.

@@postbreak unfortunately we use iMovie to edit our videos currently and this does not seem to be an option within this software. If you know how to do this in iMovie it would be a great help for us to know but it seems we cannot do this after looking into this more online. Again, we appreciate your feedback and hopefully can get this sorted for the upcoming videos 🤞🏻

Hi Casey, the N/S belt took some work to get to fit. I had to dremel a cut out of the material that was in the way of the seat belt position. I missed this in the video unfortunately. But, I found cutting a slice down the one side and then forming the metal backward to create room for the belt helped the most. Just be careful with this as the outside panels of the van are behind this. Just remember to paint and protect any metal that you expose by cutting or drilling to prevent rust. Good luck! 🤞🏻

Hi Casey, I used a normal drill for it all. Most of the spot welds I ended up riveting so I needed to drill straight through anyway. Just be carefully not to poke through too far with the drill to not hit things such as the fuel tank. Areas that were not being riveted I just took my time to ensure I did not drill through the metal behind the panel I was removing. Hopefully this helps! 🤞🏻

Just got my panel out & I’m ready to cut the front of the side panel to fit. What did you do with the 3 tank bolts? Cheers

Hi Pal, yeah that’s right although it’ll be a lot more bhp compared to the stands 35! We aren’t sure if we will have to have the engine sticking through the top of the bed until we start to frame everything up. @@vikr0 with the engine it depends what you use the van for. Mine is the 2.0l dsg so for motorway miles it’s great. With the rear seats it depends how often they would be used. It is super easy to take the rear seats out whenever you need the space to use the full back. I believe VW may still sell the parts. If not, there are quite a few people selling kits online. You could easily add a simple cover over the hardline but I rarely have people in the back and they always end up stepping over the center piece anyway

No I don’t think it means you have to have a fresh MOT just for doing this. As long as it passes the next MOT you should be fine. You definitely do have to notify your insurance of the change though. Hopefully this helps! 🤞🏻
