@@debbrantstevens8826 I realized that halfway through but couldn't go back and correct. I was very disappointed too, I really wanted to paint it in chroma order. I originally recorded it for IG in vertical format so my mind went with a sheet at a time and I missed going horizontally in chroma order. Sadly, we can't start over with dot cards.

@@robanks3895 yes, it is one of the very first videos I posted on RUclips, in hindsight, I do regret not adding any sound to it. Now my videos have voiceover and music both.

My gouache painting isnt drying up.. i have tried using hair dryer too... but once it dries, it is again becoming very sticky.. idk where the problem is.. how can i fix it ?

@@44.kalyanipanja87 I checked mine, it is dry. It was painted long back. I didn't use hair dryer. Leave it in a corner of any open area and let it air dry on its own (not outside where water could fall on it).

@@JoseGonzalez-wq5jd those are their new shades as far as I know. This dot card was printed last year. I still haven't seen them in the store here that I partner with as a W&N art educator but as soon as they are available here, I'll get them and make a video and review! There are 5 new ones I think, Ultramarine Ash, Tyrian purple and cinnabar green too. I like how the fields orange looks on their site and it's semi transparent too, could be great for botanical art. Mineral gray looks like a greenish gray which I've never seen in a premixed gray before.

@@czorampari1182 I know that feeling 😅🥲 Mixing our own greens is the best way to get natural greens, I also do that. Yessss I want this whole green range too, cobalt green, the winsor greens, all are so beautiful! Maybe I'll try mixing them 😂😅 The only pre mixed ones I have are permanent sap green, oxide of chromium and perylene green, I bought them many, many years ago when I was starting out and painted loose florals.

@@fidhasherin3671 enjoy mixing! Bright violet made the difference. You can add some permanent rose too, to make it pinkish if needed

Rosemary 344 sizes 4 and 2, Rosemary 307 size 0 (or DaVinci nova synthetics 1570 size 0), Rosemary small eradicator. Recently started using Winsor and Newton professional synthetic sable round pointed 4 and I like it too.

First of all, I'd like to say wow well done on painting it over 12 times, that matters a lot and shows perseverance and determination, you will get the desired result soon too 🙌🏼💛 I must say that this video is an older one, so it is a bit sped up. I don't have the original now. Now I majorly post real time clips in my videos here. I made a tutorial for a full rose leaf in real time with voiceover on my Patreon so I will try to post some real time clips from that over here on RUclips, that might be more helpful. I know I have seen a few in the past because your voice is so soothing and I never forget a voice that relaxes me like yours does lol! I will email two pics to you. I did it several more times, changed the process a little and they came out the closest to decent but still not like yours! I have today off and will be doing leaves again lol. I have been doing watercolor for a while now and am changing my strategy. I am so concerned with wasting paper that if I try a project and it doesn't work out I try a new one. I felt it would be too costly to keep doing the same thing over and over but I am not progressing as much as I should be. Recently I told myself I will never get good unless I keep trying a project until I do it well so I was determined to do this leaf come hell or high water lol!! I think I had over 15 versions in total which is a lot of money but I really, really love this leaf! Thank you so much!

I will be focusing more on creating videos for RUclips this year, I know I don't have a lot of videos on here as most of my time the past ~2 years was spent on creating full tutorials for patreon. I promise, more videos with my voice + real time clips are coming to youtube (I wanted to do 1 per week but I'll start with 2 a month for now). I do understand that feeling, when I was practicing a lot and trying to improve, I used to worry about wasting expensive supplies but that mindset didn't lead to much progress for me. So I started practicing one thing more times, covering the whole sheet with multiple attempts of that subject to use up as much space on the paper as possible. Keep practicing and painting and you will see results. I am happy that you changed your strategy. This rose leaf was actually painted on a sketchbook. Try Etchr hot pressed sketchbook, good to practice on, can paint on both sides, I painted this leaf on Etchr hot pressed sketchbook only. I received your email and will reply back. Thank you so much and thank you for watching! 🙏🏼💚☺️ Yes, lift more than once always. Making sure the water and paint are not too watery helps in easier lifting, paint travels less then after lifting. Lifting just before the paint dries, when it's damp, gives crispier lines but ofcourse always the timing isn't so in my experience and that's okay. I've never tried with a credit card edge, it sounds like a great way, would give sharp lines. Yes, I've never used a razor knife, I have the same fear that I'll cut my paper! 😅

@@halfpiint yes I use the 344 sizes 2 and 4 , somtimes 6. 2 has a very fine point. I love their eradicator too! I use size small eradicator.

@@halfpiint hehe I've been there! Experienced artists also have moments of mistakes when we sometimes need to lift the paint we smudge or when it goes over the line 😅 It is also great for lifting veins later, the veins we sometimes miss lifting before the wet in wet layer dries. Works like magic for softening edges too.
