This just randomly popped up in my recommendations, but I just want to point out that Tolkien’s Red Book of Westmarch (LOTR + Hobbit books combined) is “supposedly” written by hobbits. So, a fictional manuscript written by hobbits. If you notice, there is a change in tone in the book, The Fellowship of the Ring. At the beginning of the book (before the Rivendell chapters, or more specifically, before the Knife In the Dark Chapter) the tone of the text is light and playful, just like the tone in The Hobbit. There was description of a curious fox, and a happy old man named Tom Bombadil. But afterwards, the tone changes and becomes serious. This is because Bilbo supposedly written The Hobbit and the first chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring. The tone changes, because that’s when Frodo started to write. Then, when you get to late The Two Towers and most of The Return of the King (books, not movies), the tone changes yet again. Frodo’s voice becomes passive in the book, and the point of view is mostly Sam’s. The word “behold!” starts to pop up more often. Remember when Frodo passed the Red Book to Sam (and in the movies, he said, “The last pages are for you, Sam.”)? That’s when Sam starts writing his part. The way Tolkien writes makes it all seem so real. There are virtually no loopholes (or barely any) in the entire history of Tolkien’s legendarium (from the creation, to the Kinslaying, to the War of the Ring, etc). Good job on the video! :)
