    I was in B 2/47 and I graduated early April 2004, so this would have been the class immediately following mine. How funny to come across this video.

    I’ve seen new basic training videos and they do not look like this anymore which sucks. There’s such lack of discipline in today’s soldiers. It’s sad how weak they are!

    ah this looks familiar haha. except I was one of the unlucky bastards that wore the new (at that time) acu shit uniform. it wasn't so much the shark attack that messed with me as much as the sim grenades the drill sergeants were tossing near us. i literally thought shit was blowing up and had a nervous twitch for a day or two. good times. This is kinda close to how Basic Combat Training Brigade was... Drill Sgts were still beaten the shit out of people in 2000 when I went through though.. 1 guy named Larson weighed like 320+ pounds fat flabby guy but was solid 6 feet tall and the DS started calling him snuffalufagus from sesame st. Cause he moved slow and shuffle. DRILL SERGEANT FITCH DID A WALLOCKER INSPECTION WHILE WE WERE ALL DOING TRAINING 1 DAY.....caught him with donuts in His wall locker that his snuck out of the chow hall, DS Fitch beat the shit out of em for it. Slamming ole snuffaluffagus around lime a fuckin rag doll slamming em left right left into wall lockers and bunk... and then every single one of us got Smoked for 45 minutes because he stole from the chow hall.... It's getting soft over the years.

    I went in 03 towards winter time then stationed at Kelley Hill. Was in a bad car accident in 2004 and medically retired. Injury screwed up my memory and haven't seen or talked to anyone since. Sgt. Major sent a few of us to S3 115th Can Do. Went to basic with Paul Anderson no relation. At S3, i can only remember a Perez a short guy, and a big guy named Garcia. If anyone can help me find these people i would appreciate it. My time was cut short with my accident.

    I joined the Army back in 2015. Don't get me wrong, it was difficult when I went through and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. But, I wish I could have been part of the Army during this time, especially with the amount of passion and love I have for the Army! I am willing to die for my country and any of my Soldiers under my command. Unfortunately, the current standard of the Army is weaker than it used to be. We need to bring back many of the things that became "phased out". At this time, I plan on staying in as long as the Army will allow me to!

      I went through 14 week OSUT at Benning in 2001, April-Aug. I will go on the record and say that it was harder than Ranger School, which I later graduated from and went straight through without recycling in 2003. FYI - 82nd Pre Ranger was the hardest thing I ever experienced in my life, winter class in early 2003, absolutely hellacious

    • @jaydouglas8845
      @jaydouglas8845 11 месяцев назад

      Pure nonsense. I was in the Army from 1992 to 2016. The Army is not weaker today than it was when I was in. Things are done differently, but it is still strong and effective. Some methods deployed in different eras could be deemed dehumanizing and not create individuals with dignity or respect. It's a misconception to deem any adjustments or changes to training and receiving new soldiers as being weaker. Nah, it's just more effective and reasonable to do things a little different.

    I remember being in the bus when we first pulled into Fort Benning and the Drill Sergeant started yelling that we have 5 seconds to get off his bus and we already wasted 3 of those seconds. That’s when I started thinking why did I volunteer for this. 😂😂
