Ken's Garage
США
Добавлен 31 дек 2012
Ken’s Garage is a place where I video riding, hot rodding, restoring, and modifying old two-stroke street bikes. If you poke around a bit you will find some home improvement/repair stuff, a bit of auto/truck stuff, and a little bit of Traeger smoker stuff as well.
I hope you enjoy the channel. Please subscribe and like the videos. It doesn’t cost anything! Watching them through to the end apparently is good for RUclips metrics also.
Much appreciated. Ken

Thank you for this video. I have a 2009 Nissan Sentra with the same issues. My husband watched your video and installed the clock spring. This actually worked.
You are welcome.
Hi Ken, Awesome Channel! I just bought a decent '85 RZ350N. After riding this resto mod bike for a bit. How do you like the YSS rear shock and the front Emulator up grade? Thank you,Chris
The bike only has about 300 miles on it now. But so far I am quite pleased with both the front and rear suspension.
@@KensGarage1 great! thank you
Why you don't showed when you transferred the angulo sensor?,, incomplete video,
The best video for change this part, thanks
I am tempted to do it on my RZ, but also scared that I stuff it up. Replacing the barrels are definitely becoming very expensive. Ken, would you know what difference it made to the power? Should one go for 3rd party exhaust's such as DG or Jolly? @concernedaussie, can either you or anyone else recommend someone to do it for me in Australia?
buzzin' past harleys while singing elton john at them, one of my favorite things to do.....i'll eat my own broccoli at the side of the road and get another tank of gas instead of a $16 veggie wrap... thanks for the great ride.
The Philips pan head bolts hold the pulley cover on. The socket head bolts hold the pulley housing on like you had them the first time. They clear just fine. The exact same size bolts hold the powervalve clamp together. If they’re not clearing the pulley I suggest they are not the correct socket head bolts.
Sorry for your loss. I knew his bikes from the dirtbag challenge and have seen him at the Junction years ago
Glad to Mines Rd is getting repaired. RZ ripping along!😊
nice ride
Cool video, thanks! I used to port 2 strokes as a job 20 years ago! I did my own RZ 350 , & I found that 1 mm higher on the transfer ports is a very good safe place to be , with pretty much all bikes. My only tech training & advice was , ports flow like a river! Deep , outside bends flow large volumes & shallow inside bends flow fast & can stall & create dead zones . So widening & rounding / curving / blending the bottom to mid wall , adds volume & slows downs the high speed flow , reducing the stalling or dead zone . Try to lengthen & reduce the curve on the bottom of the port . The name of the game is to soften the bends & create a tapering straight line , similar to cornering in on a race track. The top of the port is top end power , & bottom of the port is bottom end & a good blend of both should give a nice broad power curve. I”ve made real good top end power , but killed the bottom end & vice versa. Usually changing the sprocket ratio’s to match the porting will make all the difference, & should be included in the package. My old RZ 350 made 61 rear wheel HP & 52lbs of torque . Now I only had OX TZ 250 pipes modified to fit my RZ 350 . They were to small in volume to unleash the top end potential. However, max torque came in at 4500 rpm & max HP came in at 6100 & plateaued out. That made an extremely strong power curve from off throttle, too max speed . It JUST PULLED ! From cruising! , dropping back to 3rd gear , it would power stand & hold power band to 6th gear.
BTW , “ usually “ the less metal removed retains air speed . It’s very easy for the very keen beginner to hog out too much material & create too much volume. That will kill port speed & ruin your power . That can some times be fixed with going to a big bore , upping compression ratios ect . But we don’t wanta do that . Probably the best way to go these days is to use 350 banshee barrels & a modified expansion chamber .
Thanks for the great comment.
The grease does look tasty
Been the last two years can’t wait for next year
How did hold up ?
So far so good but need to get through a winter.
Thanks, about to repair mine !
Excellent gathering...would not know about it without your video, I kept looking for a CZ 250 Trials(my first bike)...nice tribute to Julian, thanks for taking us along.
You are welcome.
Beautiful bikes, what a fun event. Thanks for posting.
You bet. Lots of fun was had.
7:50 This one's for you, Greta.
Very cool Ken!!!
Thanks Tim. Hope your rebuilds are coming along well.
I think a “Ken’s Garage” canopy is in order! Who else agrees? Great content as usual Ken!👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Frank!!! Would be cool to have a custom canopy but the one I used is pretty new. So no new canopy for now.
Hey Ken, Do you know anything about the Toomey's. I bought pipes from in the past but I think their scamming people now. Lost $999.99.
I'm not sure what you mean. Would you please elaborate?
The just of it. Order RZ pipes in July 2024,Talked to Stuart. He said the pipes will ship in a week, no pipes. Then Emily said they would ship in a week after that ,no pipes.4 weeks later I contacted Visa to freeze the payment. Then Connor Barcley called me to lift the hold so they could send the pipes. Lifted the hold, and I should have the pipes by now ( mid-October). No pipes.Talked to Ed toomey, He said Emily is really having issues and Stuart is getting old and that I should be persistent on trying to get my money or the pipes. They don't have a working phone number (e mail only) and I'm not really sure about the store front either. They have an F with the BBB. I don't care for the misinformation. Do you know what's going on? I'm losing hope, and I am considering contacting merchant and consumer agencies.
@@thomasstoddart2414 That is really unfortunate. It sounds quite messy. Unfortunately I am not connected to Toomey in any way and have not heard of this. Perhaps buy some JL SS pipes???
Thanks Ken, Im currently communicating with Brad at HVC for some exhaust systems that he can provide. I'll keep you updated.
Hey Ken Thanks for posting.
You are welcome.
I’ve had one of these for 6 months. It’s a piece of junk. I have cleaned the crap out of it and it fails to ignite or takes 30 minutes to tell you it’s not reaching temperature. Get a 55 gallon drum and make your own smoker. Get a gas grill and save yourself some time and $1600.
Not complaining about your video, its a huge help but Damn ! I got to 15:06 and realized my trailer brake system is already plugged into the C108 connector. On top of that my banks six gun tuner is already plugged into the OBD connector. 🤯 AAAHHH ! Now what ? Lol
I watched this video and was able to replace the Clock Spring in the steering column on my wife's 2011 Rogue following every step and it works perfect, thank you sir for this video.
Glad it helped!!!
1985 Yamaha XJ700XN, new to me. After two fuel spills onto my garage floor I got rid of the vacuum-operated petcock. I replaced it with a normal OFF-ON-RES petcock. XJ4EVER has them, part number HCP15606. Fuel onto the garage floor is the least bad thing that could have happened. I am grateful nothing worse happened.
Nice video. You could probably use a minilathe....
Thanks. You are right about that.
Thanks 💪🏽💪🏽🙌🏻🙌🏻
where is your pad spring
I’ll take your weather disasters than ours in Indiana. Walking to your car in 50 bellow wind shield is out right horrible. Nice find on the canopy. I did the same thing with a harbor freight model. Used 3 ml plastic sheets.
Just got mine today from Costco I loaded and unloaded and unboxed and set up myself, was a lot of fun haha. The amount of cardboard and plastic wrapping was insane. Never the less I can’t wait to use this
Enjoy. We still are using ours all the time. Just had a smoked pizza (about the 40th one) last weekend and ribs labor day weekend.
How much was this set
I got a 1982 Suzuki GN400 and I just, after troubleshooting and servicing the carb, learned how the vacuum occurs to engage the jet on my BS36SS Mikuni. I'm super excited to go to my buddies property and pick out a tank ❤. All of the 500 in his sitting 18 wheeler trailer are for sale. I'll do my best to document the lot as best I can ❤.. .
I had a great time at this get together! Even saw my bike in your video 😁
Sweet two stroke music! Cool assortment of bikes. Those TDR's sound really good. Looks like you had a great day with the two stroke guys.
Excellent video
Im almost done putting my forks back together, your video helped a lot. How do you find the ride with the emulators now?
It's quite good. Just went on a 120 mile ride last weekend. Thanks for the comment.
Nice seeing Ken’s Garage pop back up into my feed!
Thanks Frank!!! Hope all goes well for you next week is it???
Cool video. Very similar to our Angry Bees ride in Pierce County Washington.
the guy did it one hand and it will took me half of day to decide if i should try it or not. bravo
I'm on the FL coast. Wish I could ride my RD350 there. Fun, fun, fun!!
Are u serious on price or was that sarcasm??? You knocked me out of my chair. What state are u in??
Just a bit of sarcasm based on what people are selling these days. Sunny California is the place of residence.
I have this same situation any chance you making one and selling to me?
Erm.. That Mod is utterly Ineffective/ Bullshit junk basically . Despite Brochure babbles by maker vendors. Star mod Does work though (round off the points on the start shift cog)
I need your advice. What is your phone number?
Banks elbow is nicely done. A guy could also install a 4" exhaust cutout butterfly, in line after downpipe
Does that screw on the throttle cable pulley adjust both slides equally at the same time to change the idle?
so you felt the 2300 psi ryobi was strong enough for the sewer jetter? I have this same model and was thinking to get the jetter for some clogged french drains but wasnt sure if it was strong enough.
Yes it was strong enough. I had a lot of drains with a lot of stuff in them and it performed quite well.
@@KensGarage1 thanks I bought one and worked perfect
great video, actually shows the pins and screws removal WITHOUT breaking em! awesome demonstration bud!
I just did a DID chain and sprocket replacement on my CBR using the Motion Pro Jumbo tool. Because the MP tool is universal, it doesn't have the built in stops like the dedicated DID tool does. I printed out the DID tool instructions and at the bottom, it provides the diameter of the flared pins. You do have to be careful to check your chain exactly against the table though as there is such a variety in each size. The flare diameter for most chains is 5.5mm to 5.8mm . Mine is 5.8 to 6.0 mm . Even with the dedicated DID tool, I would still get a digital caliper and measure the diameter of the flare just so that I could sleep a little better. This was a really good video to watch and compare with my own experience. Well done.
What if you replace the filter, prime the truck, but the truck just cranks and doesn't start up anymore afterward? Currently having this issue
