Too bad that GTA I, GTA II, GTA Advance, and GTA III protagonists have more soul than GTA Online protagonists. At least GTA I/GTA II can fart, and burp. GTA III protagonist can be sometimes sarcastic in a cutscene, and GTA Advance has fully written text what he says in a cutscenes.

If characters do return I don't think none of them will reappear in the story o base game ..they want to let the new characters get all the shine but I think a couple years down online I can see Michael move into Star Island on online Franklin and Lamar I can see a story DLC episode where they visit vice City and they meet Jason and Lucia. And you get the players 4 of them Trevor I think you would just be mentioned

I honestly think everything occurs after gta story mode because lester even confirms hes hit the biggest hiest there is aka union depository and he took down FIB and IAA Buildings

I believe the online heists and single player story are a bit more interconnected than mentioned. The online humane labs raid very likely obtained information needed for the story mission "monkey business". Series a funding takes place prior to Trevor coming to LS. Lester likely says we're too unpredictable because at that point, we've only done some small missions and one small heist for him, and he doesn't trust us yet. The MC & Securoserv arcs also likely fall into the gap between the end of story mode and the gunrunning update.

I'll be honest with you. I don't see a possibility that out online goes and lives in vice city. I think at that point, we will have a new online character that is going to live in vice city and start their rags-to-riches story while our gta 5 online character still lives in los santos. This would be the most likely outcome as gta5 online will still have some small dlc's along side gta 6 online

In the Bikers update, there is a picture of Terry Thorpe saying RIP, meaning that this would be after the mission Mr. Philips because that character died in that mission but it wouldn't be after story mode completely because in the update Imports and Exports which happens after Bikers, we can sell a collection of cars to Molly Schultz, meaning that between Bikers and Imports and Exports, the story mode had advanced only between the mission Mr. Philips and Legal Trouble, because Molly dies in that mission.
