Chilton Co County Road 151 is divided in to 3 sections with the middle being dirt. Running parallel to interstate 65 and connect in South Calera to Jemison. This one line bridge is a destination for four wheelers and side by sides. I've never been all the way to the interstate but seen pictures and the tunnels that go under the interstate are big enough for a Jeep to go through.

Very cool videos! Thanks for sharing. I have a desert sled and like to ride the back roads like this. I dont have any recording equip though. Thanks again for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching 😊
Nice; like the sound of the V Strom. Different than MY Wee Strom Liked and subscribed.
Thanks 👍🏻 I still haven't had it a year yet and love how it rides. I still have my KLR for the woods but the VStrom is so fun to ride also.
So have you found any "favorite sections" out there yet and are you ready to be the tour guide?
I can be a tour guide but I can't guarantee we might be back tracking some 🤣 I'm still trying to learn areas out there. Looks like so much to ride.
Nice whoops and driveby's - we camped nearby there last night!
Nice! This is perfect weather for some camping. I haven't seen any decent camping spots out there and was wondering if it was even allowed.
@@TheBeardedTravler camping not allowed - we were down the road just off 25
Oh ok! Kinda thought it was that way. Congratulations on the new bike. Hope it fits you well my friend.
The terrain that you ride on looks just like what we have around here in east central Georgia. What tires are you running and at what pressure?
There is all types of riding in this area I live in. I ride a lot in the Talladega National Forest close to the Georgia state line. Check out the 600-1 on RUclips. As far as tires, I was running the Shinko 244's during this video. Between the Shinkos and the tusk DSports, them 2 are my favorite.i just run what the tire pressure recommends on the sidewalk of the tire.
Looks like fun!
I live less than 10 mins from there. I have a couple routes in Bankhead with points of interest. One is 117 miles long. Theyre on Rever
Nice! That area is beautiful and I've only rode through therea few times now. I need to find some moto-friendly spots here soon. What do you ride?
Greetings, As always another excellent video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 Perhaps next video show us all the mods done on the KLR.
Greetings, As always another excellent video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 Would you share with us all the mods you have on the KLR. Again, thanks for the ride.
I haven't done too much to the KLR since I bought it new. I've added crash bars, skid plate and a taller windshield. I also use a set of rhinowalk soft bags whenever I go on longer trips. The tires I prefer to run or shinko's 244s or the Tusk D-Sports. I've put around 34,000 mi so far on it.
@@TheBeardedTravlerthanks for the video! How many sets of tires to cover the 34,000 miles?
3 sets of of Shinko 244's and 2 DSports rear with the 244 front and 2 sets of Shinko 705. The 244 are my favorite 🥰
Greetings, As always another excellent video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 Keep producing more videos about the KLR Thanks for the ride.
Fun looking road, but it's always freaky when you bump into someone out in the middle of nowhere like that. I did a pretty quick about-face a couple of months ago when I happened upon a slow moving car out in the sticks. Guy stopped and got out of the car and immediately put his hands up like I had him at gun point?? I turned and ski-daddled!!😂
Yeah I don't like awkward situations like that for real. Let me go my way and I won't mess with you 😅😅
Looks like some good riding! What phone mount are you using?
I have the grip ram phone mount. I don't put my primary phone in it. I want my camera to last this time. Vibration kills phone camera is what I found out being on a KLR
This is why for the last 30yrs I have packed protection on my person. We were riding some old strip pit land back in the early 90s near Townley in Walker County. Way back in the woods and came across three men. They were not happy to see us and actually chased us with their 4 wheelers and I believe the only thing that saved me and my uncle is we were on dirt bikes and my uncle after a couple miles headed out through the timber. It was rough getting through it at speed on bikes and slowed the 4 wheelers considerably About 6 weeks later they found a huge grow operation about 1500 feet further into where we were headed.
Dang that's crazy. I grew up in Cordova so i wasn't far from there.
dang that road is really beat up since the last time I was down there?
Yes it is. I was back there 2 years ago and it was a little easier but nothing the KLR couldn't handle lol
Lava '22 myself, here in Shelby county 👋
Nice! How long have you had yours? I love the lava color 😍 I'm located not far south of you 👍
@riskybuilder77 I just got it back in April, got hit on my 03 last year so still recovering from some injuries but couldn't give up my KLR 😅
@zmanwarren1 dang I'm sorry to hear that😞 Hope your back on the KLR soon. Check out Adventure Riders of Alabama! I'm on there a lot and we do group rides pretty often.
The place looks great, I will have to check it out.
That place has a lot of riding trails and camping also. I'm not sure on the prices though.
@@TheBeardedTravler cool thanks
Looks big bike friendly, too. That's not far from me, will have to check it out.
Yes mostly big bike friendly
Looks like there's a lot going on in that area. Nice!
There is a lot to explore back there and all around that area. You could easily make a day of it.
As usual, the video just doesn't do those harder sections justice. Thanks for the video!!
Glad you enjoyed it! It definitely doesn't show how difficult it is. Cameras will never be as real as being there.
That is one of the best rides, except for the dust, that's me on the Africa Twin having fun...i dropped it in the mud hole, the front tire just buried itself, it was that stinky water
Dude your a blast to ride with and to have around. Always making people laugh and smile 😁
I love to ride
I got the 22 adventure all done up to the max went to Athens ga from Eliz ni 24 hr trip straight non stop food and DRink and gas that's that 😅
Sound like a sweet ride!
21:35 for the owl sighting 27:50 for the creek riding
I was there !! Not for all of it but I did get to ride with you can't wait to go again
I can wait either my man! Fall is right around the corner and I'll be planning an event soon.
the footage looks great, what kind of camera do you use to record?
I use a GoPro 10 black. Video is good but editing is a challenge sometimes. A lot of people I watch on RUclips are switch to the insta360 cameras.
How to you like the KLR? I have the 2023 KLR650 It has been a great bike. I am filming and riding across America. Excited to get down into the South.
I really like my KLR and plan on keeping it for a while. I've already put 32k miles on it since new. I'd be careful mounting your smartphone anywhere on the bike unless you have a vibration damping involved. My camera on my phone took a crap after about a month of riding and no longer focus on anything. So what part of the south you coming too? Here in Alabama and most of the south, riding a motorcycle is brutal right now with this heat. I still ride but I can't ride as long as I like during the summer.
@@TheBeardedTravler Are the vibrations that bad even on asphalt?
It's isn't that bad for real. I rode to Arkansas from Alabama and rode some interstate and it didn't seem that bad.
Pretty cool ride…
It's was a good one for sure. It's a different road every time lol
Just moved to Birmingham recently, glad I found your channel. I will definitely be exploring this area this week! really appreciate the inclusion of road names and directions! Keep up the killer content 🫡
If you want to meet some cool people in the area, check out Alabama Adventure Riders group on Facebook. That's where a lot of us meet up and have rides.
Met a guy earlier across from the Depot in Pelham that recommended that definitely gonna check it out, would love to get out and ride with ya! Met some nice folks on dirt bikes out by the Old Slab today that let me join them down some trails but I got my butt kicked and my legs skinned 😂
man do you live in the area my wife and I ride up there a lot!!! We defiantly would love to catch a ride with y'all but we ride slow
I live between Jemison and Montevallo. I ride there some. We mainly ride the Talladega National Forest. Look up Alabama Adventure Riders on Facebook and that's where a lot of us hook up at 👍
@@TheBeardedTravler I am a member there I guess I need to pay better attention to the group lol .. we ride in Talladega a lot too
If you ever see a orange 22 KLR, wave me down 👋

Beautiful roads. Loved the cobblestone bridge!
Yes the bridge is very old and in my mind looks Spanish made. It's very close to Alabaster, Alabama
(20:40) I always hated the traffic going though there with my tractor trailer, during rush hour. (OTR Driver)
Yes it gets hectic during them times. I live south of there and interstate 65 is a headache daily.
Had a flash back from 2013, was on my way up to the Chestnut mountain sky resort in Galena Ill. from Miramar, Florida. and was going threw Guntersville up to Huntsville and all the cars were moving out of my way. ( and I'm thinking, wow some really nice people up here) Come to find out that the police up there also rode the White Honda Goldwing Bikes, I was two up pulling a large trailer. Boy, did I get some dirty looks....
I didn't know they had Goldwings up there! I knew Birmingham has black Goldwings cause I seen them a lot riding around downtown. Nice to know that sir👍
there is a cave system up there. we made one of our events, to tour those caverns
Nice! Do you happen to know the area it's located or is it open to the public? Only caverns I'm familiar with in that area is DeSoto caverns.
That's not a "hill climb". That's riding up a hill on a dirt road. Just saying.
🤣🤣 Your probably right. Felt like a good hill climb. Well first time on the V-Strom lol
Awesome video sir next time I’ll join you on my bike 👍
Thank You Sir! You're welcome to join me on any of my future adventures. I have a camping trip I'm planning soon to the Smokies for a weekend that I'm looking forward to.
back in 2014, we put on a riding event, at the Guntherville state park lodge. for Venture Riders. about 85 riders came out for 4 days of touring
Nice! My parents were part of the Gold Wing Road Riders and they also held rallies in guntersville and other states in the southeast. Lots of beautiful areas in that part of Alabama.
Sweet bike, glad you're enjoying it.
Thanks! I think this one will be staying a while. The KLR isn't going anywhere at the moment also 😎
Hey Brother, what side view mirrors do you have on?
Just some cheap ones I found on Amazon. I believe they cost around $25 but they didn't have a brand name. They been pretty well the past 2 years of riding
🔥🔥🔥
😎
I can not think of a better way to spend my day.
Think I need one....
Lmao that would have been a bad day for someone
Right! I didnt really like that I threw it on the side of the road but don't really want to carry a murder weapon on my motorcycle 🤣🤣
@@TheBeardedTravler hey it’s better off rusting there than in a tire or somebodies windshield
That's big facts. 💪
Dangi might add some audio over this. Talk about where ya are. Mood music. Pigs squealing, something!
Sorry never been much of a talker lol. I may start trying to talk more but it's that I'm just shy mostly.
Wheres this in Chilton county ?
It's kinda between the city of Clanton and Lay Lake out off of highway 145 close to the Shelby County line
Shhhhh🙄
@@TheBeardedTravler thanks
I know those roads!
Really!? I seen some of your videos from around here but didn't know you knew that many roads around here. I watch a ton of your videos. Thanks for the comment!
@@TheBeardedTravler It has been awhile since I have spent time riding up there, but yes! Good seeing someone making moto-vids in Alabama again too - keep it up!
I got some video to but we got stuck on our hill could not get down to slick to come drive on we had to walk to the store
It was definitely a day to remember
