2011 NAB FCPX Standing Ovation
Celebrating ten years of FCPX --I discovered this "masterpiece" in my archives. Apple introduced its new paradigm for video editing at NAB SuperMeet.
Apple forced an unpopular decision among its loyal Final Cut users by suddenly abandoning development of the legacy program. In hindsight this was pretty heavy-handed. No clear workflow for shops that use multiple workstations; no clear workflow to transition legacy projects.
But this was not a problem for me ... I'm a serious hobbyist but don't make a living producing videos. I went "cold turkey, all-in" with the first version of FCPX when it was released. The new program has always been a perfect fit for what I do!...

The General starring Buster Keaton
Просмотров 948 лет назад
I joined a couple thousand San Diegans in Balboa Park on 8/24/2016 to watch Buster Keaton in "The General". With the big Spreckels pipe organ and appreciative audience ... is this what silent movies were like ninety years ago? Here's some clips that I took with my iPhone; a little editing in Final Cut Pro X The evening was presented by the Spreckels Organ society; Tom Trenney was the very talen...

A Quick Tour of Casa Larrea Inn
Просмотров 6 тыс.8 лет назад
Casa Larrea is our favorite place to stay in Palm Desert CA. Only a dozen or so guest rooms, and everyone feels like family!. I sat in the luggage cart and recorded this movie while my wife pushed it around the pool. Aren't these flowers and decorations amazing! Guests like us find it hard to imagine the beautiful oasis that opens up behind the red door. Some liken it to the "Best Exotic Marigo...
Sunday Doubles Tennis (part 2)

In 2011 we proved that they have no talent. In 2015 they are still playing. Which begs the question, "Why?" Theres a quick flashback, then a (mercifully short) look at their miserable performance on the court. Technical: This video was shot in 1080p, 60fps, using a Panasonic Lumix G7 camera on an overcast Sunday afternoon. Edited in Final Cut Pro X, output at 720p, 30fps. Outputting at 720p ena...
Sila: The Breath of the World

This video was taken on Sunday 9/27/2015 in the Japanese Friendship Garden at San Diego's Balboa Park. La Jolla Symphony and Chorus' performed John Luther Adams' Sila: The Breath of the World. It was the regional premiere of this work which was commissioned to celebrate the park's centennial anniversary. It's certainly an unusual piece. I felt it was sort of ghostly, invoking the vague ambience...

"I Could Be Viral" with a little help from OWC !!!

Thanks for looking at my entry in the 2015 OWC Video Commercial Contest. Well I never thought I had a chance to win this contest, so my hopes have been fully realized !!! Nonetheless, it appears that your votes pushed us all the way up to #17 (of 67 total)! Wow that is truly astonishing. This contest entry was uncharted territory for me, since I mostly edit my own vacation videos. It was fun to...

Indian Wells, California. Sunday March 15, 2015. The BNP Paribas Open. Andy Murray, Nick Kyrgios, Serena Williams, and Roger Federer each take a turn serving. I was trying out my new Panasonic G6 camera, at the far end of a Limix 45-150mm zoom lens. The extreme close ups use the electronic tele-convert feature. Raise The Balloon - Stop Runaway Development in San Diego
Просмотров 50510 лет назад
That balloon marks 60' - the height where San Diego's planners and developers want to build! San Diego's red trolleys are colorful and popular with a small number of commuters. I like the idea of having a trolley station close to my house … that sounds like as an environmentally responsible nice idea. But "nice ideas" can totally disrupt and destroy a community when they are poorly planned and ...
Cleo HATES getting her nails clipped!
Просмотров 3810 лет назад
You can see that we are not cutting too deeply, using a "human" toenail clipper, nowhere near the pink, just the tips of her claws. We tried to do it at home the first time, but she screamed so loud we were afraid. Took her to the vet where she scared the technicians too. Our friend Yami has the gentle magic touch, but Cleo just doesn't like to be restrained.
Use of a Biographical Interview in a Memorial Video
Просмотров 6910 лет назад
Example of how to create a biography of a parent, relative, or friend. A video interview, done ten years before this movie was created, illustrating the audio using old still photos as B-roll. This is part of a 40-minute-long movie. Other parts of the edit were "too personal and sensitive" or used copyrighted music, so they were not placed on RUclips for public viewing. Check out www.henbc.com ...
Use Family Video Clips to make a Memorial Montage

I was fortunate to have an interview which was used at the opening of the memorial movie. Then clips from other family videos are used here to create a fun montage. This is part of a 40-minute-long movie. Most of the edit was "too personal and sensitive" or used copyrighted music, therefore only two short segments were placed on RUclips for public viewing. Check out www.henbc.com for ideas abou...

What a remarkable improvement in play. The footwork is dazzling.
GREAT VIDEO I REMEMBER MY CHILLHOOD
David Delgado Thanks for the nice comments, David
That's a really well-made video, above average quality for RUclips. Try visiting Greece or France -also good fun. But if visiting Italy be careful - its reputation for crime and corruption is accurate.
Wow thanks for the comment! We've been to Greece, France, and Italy. My edited movies can be found on one of two RUclips channels: here on HENBCvideo or on HENBCtravel. (Greece was 1992, the video edit is particularly amateurish compared to this one from 2013). I've been posting my vacation videos on a blog ( www.henbc.com ) that you might find interesting. It starts from the very first 35mm slide show, then advances through analog videotape and finally 100% digital. I offer comments, criticisms, and recommendations … sharing editing technique with other traveling video editors.
George Really professional clip.......You have graduated into the BIG TIME Have you sent a link to any of the Chamber of Commerce organizations of Madrid, Barcellona ........ect........................???
Somanna, nice to hear from you! I miss the forum on IzzyVideo.com Yes, re-living the past, but this is the recent past. Less than six months ago ... it usually takes me 15 years to edit the video from a trip! www.henbc.com
Hello [?] George! Nice stuff. You do seem to be enjoying re-living the past! Dr. Somanna [of Izzy forum]
i watched the video, I remenber this nice city this streets , buildings museums I even stayed in the same hotel fontan in avenue la reform,, I love mexico and his people thank you for sharing your experience
angel boxer Thanks, Angel. Wow this was 20 years ago!

Thanks for asking!!! Yes you may use it under Creative Commons for a non-profit purpose. If you choose to share your presentation, it should also be distributed freely under Creative Commons. Please credit "HENBC.COM".
May I use this video in a presentation? I was in Mexico City in 1995, but all my pictures were lost. i just want to use it to show What Mexico City looked like at the time I was there.
you are right this people is the worst the CEO and rich zaultz
this company is one of the worst out there
I would certainly support adding a small surcharge to each menu item for "staff's medical insurance". Make it optional even. All hard-working Americans deserve a chance to purchase medical insurance at a reasonable rate. My wife and I pay over $24,000 per year for high-deductible health insurance because we are not with a group. The insurance companies really stick it to those of us on the individual market!
It's too bad that Buca's parent company Planet Hollywood is too cheap to offer medical insurance to those hard-working hourly employees. (And it's cowardly of CEO Robert Earl to claim his cutting employee hours - a week before the deadline, and just below the 30 hours per week deadline - has nothing to do with medical insurance.) Could he add 5-cents to the price of each pasta dish to cover the cost of medical insurance? Sure. But why do that when you can just screw-over your staff instead?
My video is called Kitty Cat Attack staring Cleo
My cat is Cleo and I have a vid about her attacking my iPod touch it will publish in a day or 2 this vid is cool I like it!
dv is like ten times better than the vhs footage you took in '99
there it is in the flesh, digital vs analog over 13 years of aging. Digital Rules!!
Fun video! I love the references, and the narrative foundation!
While the sanity of anyone who watches one of my videos may be questionable, my intentions have always been clear. Unfortunately, I forget what they were.
I'm told that heNBCvideo is in-fact a producer-training facility sponsored by an unnamed group with questionable intentions. Probably hopeful in converting our offspring to cult very-new age religious practices involving electronic media. It is potentially dangerous to share this clip with infants under 18 months, low-IQ Tea Party Members (excuse the redundancy), or female jazz violinists. You have been warned! Son-of Sam (sort-of)
Thanks Mr. Lucas. coming from you that's a great compliment. I'm surprised that a great director like yourself doesn't know that Final Cut Pro X has an easy-to-use background noise removal tool built into the editing program. Good luck with your next project!
Mr. heNBC, I liked all five of your Peruvian clips. Good selection of music. I noticed that some of the music was recorded on location. How did you filter out the ambient noise? Very impressive George Lucas
I am humbled by your praise. And to think ... I don't even know who you are!
GREAT PLANNING.......GREAT EXECUTION GREAT Party.....GREAT Editing from what must have been so-so starting footage. George...You are a natural in this field! Wayne (:>))
OMG a great time. Wish I was there.
Great video! Love the pyramids!
@Version7i Actually it's "Sweet Pea" but "Pea Swift" is pretty funny!
I like ur cat, so cute!
@wsander619 Yes. Strange and vaguely familiar. An early 1970's recording of "Hall of the Mountain King" [Edward Grieg, from Peer Gynt] performed by Portsmouth Sinfonia who didn't take themselves too seriously. Check out some of their other "attempted musical performances" which are posted on RUclips.
@wsander619 Another video on my RUclips channel features similar dissonant music: "Ancient Astronauts? Nazca, Peru"
Great suspense clip with strangely familiar music....Nutcracker? (:>))
@kman98953 I've got the Sprint iPhone 4S, which I think looks the same as the Verizon version. Although these phones use CDMA technology, the 4S has added a sim-card slot on the side; useful if you travel somewhere that uses GSM.
@kman98953 The skins provide nice, tough, protection from scratches and the beauty of the iPhone shows through. However we both later decided to purchase hard-shell cases for drop protection. Bought 2-piece hard cases by Case Crown on Amazon. The cases were too tight to leave the skins on, so I had to strip them from the sides and back. The front skin is still there, protecting that delicate glass and looking good!
@kman98953 Note make sure you figure out where the various length edge pieces belong BEFORE you peel them from the paper. Also I found it difficult to handle these small pieces with my pudgy fingers ... ended up using tweezers. Don't overwork the squeegee! Although the skin is self-healing, it is possible to gouge it. There will very likely be a few remaining small bubbles. Be patient and they will disappear!
@kman98953 I recently installed Skinomi on two iPhone 4S. The back goes on bubble-free. The edges are thin and easy to squeeze the solution out. On both phones I had some bubbles on the face, they disappeared within a couple of days.
George, Love the William Tell Overture, this rendition, and the memories of sitting in front of the old radio listening to the adventures of THE LONE RANGER. Thanks Wayne (:>))
George, Very nicely executed! Almost enough to make me question the whole alien concept. Wayne (:>))
@Jodieodie2006 YES! I'd actually forgotten about the bubbles. I guess it took a couple of days, but the front and back covers are now perfectly smooth. AND I'm liking the film on the screen side. Dropped he iPad a couple of times and no damage or scratches, so my evaluation of this product is definitely POSITIVE!
did the bubbles on the front go away?
@ghostblind69 it took a couple of hours to be usable, bubbles and streaks disappeared overnight.
how long did you leave it to dry?
Good memories, beautiful voices...the best conductor! I love you St. Cecilia Chorus!
lol.............nice video
Thanks for the video! I haven;t worked in a restaurant kitchen in many years but it's nice to see the rythmn this crew is working at. Three cheers for Buca di Beppo for having a table for guests in the kitchen! Three cheers also for the great laitn American crew seen here creating great cuicina italiana!
@jmk800 I'm not an expert on iMovie. Just tried its image stabilization on a few clips to make them more usable in Final Cut. I don't think the program has a filter for what you're trying to do, but you could certainly manually crop, rotate, and distort. Maybe also try splitting clips to match the beat of the music, then impose short transitions over the splits. Perhaps someone else will read this and have a better idea, or try the Apple forums.
