Playing and showing the sub box build for 2 12 in Ground Zero Hydrogen subwoofers. (personal car)
Wanted to show my own system playing. Sounds like garbage because phones and go-pro's don't pick up anything below 40/50hz very well but its fun to watch stuff shake. also thank you @tesIa_officiaI_channel and @HertLife for making the perfect song for demoing loud subs in a tuner car!

Designing and building yet another box for 2 JL Audio 12 w6v3's

An overview of the process from beginning of design to box completion. Sorry there isn't any install or playing pics or videos of this box. due to odd circumstances I haven't even personally heard this box, but as soon as the box gets installed ill put up some video of it playing.

Building a Sub box I designed for two JL Audio 12w6v3's
Просмотров 44 тыс.Год назад
I barely ever even post pictures let alone video of my builds so here's a timelapse with an amazingly terrible voice-over for the maybe two people interested of me building the box to go under the bed in the sleeper of a semi truck that I did a whole build in. Might get around to posting more about the build but did 2 12w6's on an rd1500/1 and a 3way set of Ground Zero Uranium's on a vx800/8i.

While tack welding stuff together on the outback, I figured I should maybe record some of it and kind of went on a rant about the car i've been slowly building and driving for almost 10 years since i bought it stock. Didn't really want to just leave it as a video of me talking to myself on my computer. Just finishing up the downpipe for the holset hx35 I'm stuffing into it. I'm fabricating ever...

My own special flavor of boring sleepy guitar stuff

Kept trying to turn the basics of this into a song, but it kept devolving into just noodling around so i figure just let it go into the world as whatever it is that it is. I Still have no idea how to actually play guitar so nothing special here, just more of my own special flavor of boring sleepy guitar stuff.

Not Good Enough
Просмотров 2169 лет назад
This is a song i wrote that i wanted to sing and share with the world i guess. I do not consider myself a singer, i am not trained in any way and have no real background in it and i personally hate my voice but why not try i guess. I did zero editing to either the recording or the video beyond matching the vocal track to the video. Its called "not good enough" and is, like all songs like this, ...
looks great
Nice work. Turned out great
Bro got a system in his racecar. I love it 😂
The most fun car in the world to drive can't cruise without music haha :p
Do you have full detailed design dimensions on hand? i know this video is over a year old, but i'd like to recreate this build if you would have the blueprint of this box.
Yo dude, make that for me for 1 infinity reference 860watt with max overall height of 9.5" 01 ram1500 xtracab. It's going under the bench seat so figure a plexitop that I'll get later
So half that box figured for plexi but sent birch everything
I also need on the other half a retuned jl bass wedge slot port. And I'm seeing variances in the boxes for 2 6.5" infinity subs off eBay
How can I reach you to get a quote?
Somebody gots some money. 💲💲💲💲💲
I want one!
Crazy box dam
Thanks!!!
Good demo I just recently abused that song
Rittz 25hz yea you bumpin
Dude that song is so hilarious to demo the system with. It's perfect for scaring the crap out of someone who isn't ready for what's coming
I just got my box built for my 2 12w6’s I have the jumpers at 8 ohms on each sub How do I connect both subs to their own box terminals and have 4 ohms final?
First off you have to be running a monoblock amplifier for this to work, but you just simply run a wire from the positive output to each positive terminal then same for the negatives. Running it in parallel like that halves the impedence.
Nice job ,your custom box turned out perfect. looks clean ,also should perform, well as expected. what amp did you decide to use to run the subs?
Hey thanks!! And that setup will be run on a jl rd1500/1
Excellent work! I just got a 2024 Camry and want a custom box to fit flush in my trunk space. I've built every box myself. This project is different though.
Nice, does it have fold down rear seats? One of my favorite things to do is build setups that sit facing the interior so you can have it open when you don't have passengers in the back
@dustinsonger851 It does have fold down seats. I would like to experiment with an IB sub setup, but I have to do a lot of research.
@adaboy4z I wouldn't do an infinite baffle setup honestly, there isn't much on the market right now designed for it and with things like tw3's existing you can get plenty of output from tiny enclosures if space is a concern
@@dustinsonger851 Good point. I have two B2 Audio Rampage 8's and a Kicker Q class 12 to choose from.
How to long did this take to put together?
I had other stuff going on in the daytime while I was building that so it ended up being like 4 nights a few hours each I think. Nothing crazy, I'm a pretty slow builder though haha
Bad dude love it bro
Thanks man!!!
👌🤘💯💥💥😛
What you couldn't afford 13w7's
Well technically my customer could have afforded one for the price of two w6's hahaha
You should give the specs and seize of the box bud
Once I'm back I'll get what numbers I have and put them up in a community post for everyone.
Thanks bud
Glad there are more than 2 people who watched this! Very cool.
Haha I'm amazed more than 4 watched and thank you!!!!
You did a great job mate great thing having a Truck having two Bad Boys in there I bet it sounds amazing when it's wired up. Nice one great video too 👍
Thanks!!!!!
Amazing job Dustin. I have a question: Have you not considered putting the ducts on the side ends? With the acoustic center closer, one woofer to the other, we gain more sound coherence. Anyway, it must be amazing.
Technically the acoustic source of a vented enclosure IS the port, and accounting for driver based soundwaves this box design compresses all of that in the center
@@dustinsonger851 Makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the explanation.
@@dustinsonger851 I've been thinking about your statement these days and considering that there is an interaction between the port and the face of the woofer, wouldn't it be correct to say that the acoustic center in such a box will vary depending on the measured frequency? That is, at lower frequencies it would be the port, and at higher frequencies it would move to the center of the woofer.
please consider my question for purely educational purposes.
Haha I love educational purpose only questions :p. And yes you would be correct there, but don't get too caught up in that, subs don't play very high in the frequency range and for the most part, especially in a small area like a car, sub bass is pretty non-localized, and your brain has a hard time telling exactly where it's coming from. Also in a car in particular, if your going with a vented enclosure your probably much more focused on the pressure waves themselves rather than the acoustic properties of your sub bass, if your primary goal is that, you should be looking at sealed enclosures
Cool box for an excellent subs. Let’s have a video of them playing!
I'll get one one of these days hopefully but thanknyou!!!
Very nice! Keep it up 👍🏽
Bagus sekali tapi saya mau praktek butuh dana 100 Dollar, tak punya....semoga bisa terlaksana

caixa top parabens , porem so faltou a pintura laqueada automotiva q fazemos no brazil
Haha yeah I have painted a few boxes, but the main reason I didn't on this is because of where it's located, having carpet is much more robust
@@dustinsonger851 yes yes anyway congratulations for your work just a question is the automotive sound business there good? or is very restricted by the authorities
@Judeon Oliveira it's not bad, they do not "restrict" us as a business, it's more up to the customer to not be an asshole in neighborhoods and whatnot
@@dustinsonger851 positivo sempre tem us para estragar vc conheçe a categoria q predomina aqui no brasil sistemas de som de 4 vias ou seja ( paredao)

Haha sure is, w6's are amazing haha
Great job 👌👍 You can clearly see the passion you on what you do! 💯
I got the same truck and I would love to do that same style box in the truck 💪🔥
Dude that means a lot thank you for saying that!
Congrats to all of these cuties. Great work!
They did such an amazing job pushing the bounds of what can be done!!
I wish I was good at math like this.
You could have been but you guys didn't get to evolve for long enough to develop calculus

Dalton looking mad cute in this one
Hey now that's my little brother, I hope your intentions are pure hahaha
Congrats to your team! As Elon put it, "Space isn't easy". I really hope you guys had on board cameras and will release the footage.

Dustin this is the coolest video ever
thank you but the team and the rocket did the work, I just got lucky to be enough of a part of it to capture it :)
Nice design Bro.... You got alot more than just four people watching it....👍
I know I'm just in a daze about it at this point
VERY very nice thanks for sharing!

super fucking nice build bro

@Dustin Songer how ur box sound
Sick build
Thank you!!!
Strange design. Kind of a too short transmission line mixed with a too long bassreflex port.
Not really honestly, in no way, shape, or form is it a transmission line box even slightly, it's just a standard vented enclosure, the only reason it probably wierd looking is because you have been most likely dealing with "prefab" enclosures or guys who haven't done 18+ inch long ports. There is a lot of guys including myself who prefer the sound of a port that is longer than 18 inches and that is all you are seeing here
I like the fact that there's no parallel wall behind the subs to muddy everything Most people never figure that out Efficientcy is everything in boxes and amplifier and speakers The best boxes I've had were never a mindless square box Good job
Sometimes your stock doing a flat wall behind a subwoofer but yes, if you have the room, making sure that you are not diving into a flat wall will always help even if just a little
Do you have any plans for this box I really like it
The last couple minutes has pictures of it in the customers semi truck sleeper :)
Great job man looks nice
Dustin can you share your cut list ? I really like the looks of that box and would like to make one
dope box, but why do people like JL? Ive had so much better results with Skar and sundowns. Guess its all preference. Really nice box tho.
Thanks and honestly, your comparing 3 completely different companies... There is zero connection between them other than the very loose definition of "they make subwoofers"... In my experience, sundown is an spl company through and through, just create pressure. Skar, no offense, but is off the shelf slapped together assemblies that sell for cheap and give you results that equal the price tag, not necessarily a bad thing per second, they kick the crap out of most cheap brands but there excursion numbers are a joke compared to power requirements and subwoofer sizes. JL is an SQL company, main focus being audio quality which is not necessarily what everyone is looking for but when you are, they are next to impossible to beat especially considering they have a ton more excursion than any sub that's purely focused on sq, as well as running on significantly lower power levels. But price is the main reason people don't use them, they are a premium product that comes with a premium price tag
I should add though, I'm personally a ground zero audio guy haha. Beats all three of them on output per dollar, and some of there subs can directly out compete jl's w6 line in output and damn near out compete in sq at 2/3's the price, only downside is they need 3 times the power but that's why soundigital exists
Nice work brother
Thanks man!!!!
As soon as you said you did all that sanding etc just to cover it with carpet I thought "that's what my girlfriend does after she applies lotion all over her beautiful self and then puts close on. Damn you polyester!!🤨 Awesome build brother. You've got skills.
Hahahahahaha
if you reverse loaded the speakers you would gain some box volume
