Thank you for making this video. This video very helpful to me. I learn how to take care of my baby monitor right after I have rescued my monitor from dog bite and trying to safe his life. In Thailand illegal to pet monitor so it’s very difficult to find any information about how to pet him right.

They will still 100% scratch you. Lol My 4 1/2 foot male was on my shoulder and his nail lightly went across my lip and LAYED that sucker open. Lmao

when i was a kid i used to pet them at a zoo, at the reptile area he was wandering around and allowed everyone to scratch his head and back and he would just stand still and close his eyes when you petted him

I do nuisance reptile removals and I've been whipped by Nile monitors and I have to concur that a tail whip from a water monitor leaves a mark and can potentially draw blood

My mom has a really nice setup for her turtle there's a nicely sized pound, plenty of space for the turtle to walk around, and i think i would be able to get a setup like my mom's turtle's setup for a Asian water monitor... Yeah😅

Very informative video! 💯 I have a question. My baby monitor is still defensive and won't eat. I've tried holding crickets with tongs infront of him but won't eat. I also placed some crickets inside the enclosure but it still won't eat it even after i left it alone. How do I make him eat?

What if I get a Asian water monitor and make it a outdoor enclosure(greenhouse like) but I make it "properly" and use just the sun to keep it warm? I think it is always warmer in a Greenhouse... But I know I'm going to need to have one in the winter...Yeah😅

Any tips for humidity control in a smaller cage? I've gotten misters but they just crap out after a couple months, I see you have a humidifier in there but I feel like that would be a bit big for what I'm running right now. Also are there any guides that you could point me to to help build a similar setup for when mine gets full size?

I just got a baby water monitor and he hasn’t eaten and it’s been 5 days. He is very small and very scared of everything so I am doing my best in trying to help him acclimate to the cage and the surroundings and not view me as a threat and all this but he hasn’t eaten not once not a thing: I have his temps all correct his humidity correct I have a water tub to swim and bath and he just won’t eat. I know he is still too scared to eat but I need help on what I can do please

I always hear Clint's reptiles say the phrase "you will need a full room in your house" but this is my first time seeing a full room being used besides snake discovery with Rex

Your mold issues need to be dealt with… gonna hurt the poor dude. No way around it with the wood enclosure, that kind of heat and humidity, cost and time isn’t an excuse, you’d be better off with a smaller enclosure with no mold. As this year has gone by I’m sure you’ve discovered that yourself. Carry on!

You should get capii vine grows a foot a week. in 6 months you could have the walls covered in vines and humidity would not be an issue.
